Clay Aiken a “Spectacular” Father

April 2nd, 2009

When Clay Aiken announced he was about to be a father along with friend Jaymes Foster, some might have been skeptical of their decision.

But now that baby Parker Foster Aiken has arrived (conceived by in-vitro fertilization), Jaymes’ brother music producer David Foster says they’re just a happy family in a "very normal situation."

”She’s very close with Clay, they’re best friends," David tells AP Radio. "It made perfect sense to me that he’d want to have a child with his best friend.”

Although he might be a bit biased, David says Clay is a "spectacular father" and Jaymes is "a natural mother," who ”always wanted a child, so it kind of worked out.”

As for their plans raising Parker together, David’s a bit unsure, adding, "They’re working it out. I don’t know quite how. It’s a bicoastal thing.”

Lance Bass Congratulates Clay on Coming Out!

September 24th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Following in the wake of the not-so-shocking confirmation from singer Clay Aiken that he is indeed gay, OK! spoke to openly homosexual former N-Sync member — and current Dancing With the Stars competitor — Lance Bass to get his reaction to the news.

"It’s great!" Lance told OK! at Tuesday night’s live DWTS broadcast. "I’m so happy he’s finally going to be happy with himself and share that with the world."

Additionally, Lance, who famously announced his sexual preference in July of 2006, told OK! that a declaration like Clay’s is beneficial for everyone. "I think that’s so necessary for people to see," he explained. "It’s good for the world."

Clay’s announcement comes after years of speculation and rumor about his sexuality. Since rising to stardom as the runner-up on the second season of American Idol, the North Carolina-native had avoided answering direct questions on the topic.

On Aug. 8, the Spamalot star welcomed his first child, son Parker Foster Aiken, with best friend, music producer Jaymes Foster. After the birth, Clay confirmed that he and Jaymes were not romantically involved but would raise their child together.

Congratulations to Clay Aiken!

The American Idol alum is now the proud pop of a bouncing baby boy, a rep for the singer confirms exclusively to OK!.

"HE’S HERE!" wrote Clay on his official webite. "My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken (No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name.)"

Parker was born at 8:08am on Aug. 8 — should make it easy to remember his birthday! — in North Carolina and weighed in at a healthy 6 lbs., 2 oz. and was 19" long.

"Wow … 8:08 … 08/08/08," writes Clay. "The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy. Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also."

Parker’s mom is Clay’s best friend and record producer, Jaymes Foster, who met the singer while he was a contestant on the second season of Idol. The pair, who are not romantically involved, but who plan on raising the child together, conceived earlier this year via in vitro fertilization.

After Clay announced the news in May, OK! spoke to AI judge Randy Jackson, who shared his thoughts on the announcement.

"I think he’s going to be a really good dad," Randy told OK!. "Clay — Call me, dawg. I’ll give you some tips."

Confirmed: Clay Aiken To Be a Dad!

May 29th, 2008

Yes, it’s true!

Clay Aiken is going to be a dad, The Insider confirms. The singer is expecting a baby with his longtime friend and record producer Jaymes Foster, 50, in August.

"By the way she looks great, glowing and very happy," a rep for Jaymes says. "She and Clay have been good friends for a long time."

TMZ first reported on the pregnancy earlier today, stating that the two conceived via artificial insemination. Sources tell the website that both Clay, 29, and Jaymes will raise the kid together.

Jaymes is legendary record producer David Foster’s sister. She had been previously married. Meanwhile, Clay has famously danced all questions about his sexuality, though he did coyly admit to OK! in a recent interview that, "At this point, everyone knows everything [about me.]”

This would be the first child for both.
