Report: Madonna In Relationship Therapy

January 15th, 2009

Reports in a British paper are claiming that a therapist is helping Madonna to improve her relationships with men.

The Daily Mirror claims that the recently divorced superstar thinks that her problem with guys, and indeed Guy, is that she’s too "domineering" (surely not!).

So, the paper says, she’s working with a Kabbalah love guru to find a way to chill out a little in her romances.

Apparently they’ve already figured out that the problem is that her tikkun is all screwed up — but New York rabbi Philip Berg is said to be on the case.

"Madonna has been having a tough time with Kabbalah in the wake of her and Guy’s split," says the paper’s source.

"Whenever she’s in New York, she’s taken to having intense private sessions with rabbi Berg, working on her tikkun."

Madonna & Guy: Moving On

As further details emerge about Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s increasingly bitter divorce proceedings, the exes are finding support in very different areas. While the Material Mom attended NYC’s Kabbalah Centre with children Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, on Oct. 25, Guy happily posed with fans outside a Manchester, UK, hotel before letting his hair down over dinner at Stock with celebrity pals Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Just two days earlier, Guy partied at London’s White Cube gallery with Jude and Robert, who are both starring in Guy’s new movie, Sherlock Holmes.

“They were in a silly, goofy mood,” an onlooker tells OK!. “It was a guys’ night out, and Guy didn’t look one bit upset.”

Madonna, 50, also found time for some fun, taking her kids to Manhattan’s Chelsea Piers gym on Oct. 20 to play on the trampolines, followed by an Oct. 21 helicopter ride over NYC for Rocco and David.

Guy may be staying far away from his ex, but Madonna’s new man, Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, is rumored to be looking at $80-million apartments just two blocks from the singer on NYC’s Upper West Side.

Cover Story: Inside Madonna & Guy’s Big Split

October 22nd, 2008

She’s made a career out of jaw-dropping moments, but when Madonna announced her split from Guy Ritchie on Oct. 15, the news was hardly shocking. Indeed, ever since rumors of an affair with baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez appeared in July, it seemed to be only a matter of when — not if — the Ritchies would divorce.

OK! was the first to reveal the relationship between Madonna and A-Rod last July. At the time, her rep insisted it was only an acquaintance brought about because they shared the same personal manager, Guy Oseary. But the reality was far different, and within days of our story hitting the stands, Alex’s wife Cynthia Rodriguez filed for divorce.

“Cynthia found out about her husband’s relationship with Madonna last June,” a source tells OK!. “And her understanding of their ‘plan’ was for both of them to get rid of their spouses and be together publicly.”

But A-Rod is not the only reason for the Ritchies’ split. Signs of trouble first appeared earlier this year, after Guy was a no-show for his wife’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in NYC on March 10. At a Cannes Film Festival event Madonna attended in May, “Guy’s smiles seemed to be few and strained,” an eyewitness told OK!.

Both parties openly admitted there were problems. When asked the secret to a happy marriage, Guy told OK! at the Sept. 4 Toronto Film Festival premiere of his film RocknRolla, “Ah, if you know, you tell me. That’s a toughie.”

And in the May issue of Elle UK, Madonna discussed the difficulties of their long-distance relationship. “It’s not easy. You have to work hard to make it work,” she said. The upshot? “Sex with Guy is incredible.”

But according to the UK’s News of the World, the Ritchies reportedly went 18 months without making love, because Madonna was too tired after her grueling workouts. The paper also reported that Guy admitted to a pal that sex with his missus was like "cuddling up to a piece of gristle.”

A source close to Guy tells OK!, “It sounds like she’s trying to spread that he didn’t have sex with her. I bet she’s instructed her team to start a hate campaign.”

Then there is Madonna’s devotion to Kabbalah, the Jewish mystical religion the pop star says has made her a better person. Although he followed the faith along with his wife, Guy shockingly told TV’s Extra in September, “I don’t really understand Kabbalah as a religion. I don’t think it is a religion as far as I’m aware.” A-Rod is reportedly now a follower of Kabbalah.

Guy Richie: ‘It’s a Mistake to Follow Kabbalah’

August 25th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Whether their marriage is on the rocks or not, there’s at least one thing Madonna and Guy Richie don’t seem to be able to agree on.

Kind of a big one too!

Guy just told a British newspaper that he thinks it’s a "mistake" and not "intelligent" to follow Kabbalah.

When the Observer asked the Snatch director if he would call himself a follower of the sect that his wife has dedicated herself to, he said: "No, I wouldn’t, no.

"I like to think I’m an objective guy. I have sympathies with many philosophies, and I think it’d be a mistake to be a follower of anything, really."

And even though Guy’s taken part in a few Kabbalah ceremonies, he added, "I just think any intelligent human being has to remain, if you can, objective."

Maybe A-Rod should take some advice from Guy before he takes any more religious guidance from the Material Girl!

THURSDAY: POP RELIGION

December 6th, 2007

It seems to me like Scientology and Kabbalah are two ‘religions’ both so subsidized and popularized by celebrities that they’ve become a part of our pop culture as much or more than a spiritual outlet for the masses. This week I came across both using different means to get more recruits.? Walking down Hollywood Avenue in LA, on a touristy block I equate to Times Square, I passed a Scientology Center. On the sidewalk in front of the center Scientologists were manning bridge tables and doing their best to sell Scientology and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s book ‘Dianetics,’ to people passing on the street. Neighboring the center a winter wonderland had been set up. Over the winter wonderland was a billboard that said,? “On the day we can fully trust each other there will be peace on earth.” -L. Ron Hubbard

?Meanwhile, in the world of Kabbalah, New York socialite Denise Wohl, mother of I March to the Beat of My Own Drummer daughter Arden Wohl, who’s a friend of often indie actress LeeLee Sobieski, is trying to mass market Kabbalah through comic books called Seven - and crafting the main characters after Arden and LeeLee.?

Madonna’s Still Kuckoo for Kabbalah!

September 14th, 2007

International lady of mystery Madonna and her fellow celeb Kabbalah followers, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, are all in Israel today to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

The trio are also on hand with hundreds of other Kabbalists for a
conference on Jewish mysticism being held at the David Intercontinental
Hotel in Tel Aviv. According to reports, Madge and friends have been
kicking up their heels, clapping, dancing and singing with others at
the conference.

The Material Girl, born and raised a Catholic, was one of the first
celebrities to hop on the Kabbalah bandwagon (seemingly running a close
second only to Scientology in Hollywood) several years ago, strapping
the red string around her wrist and taking the Hebrew name of Esther.
In addition to the 49-year-old pop star, impressionable starlets like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan were among the dozens of celebs to dabble, at least superficially, in Kabbalah studies.
