Usually when there’s a breakup between famous folk, people on both sides of the split play nice to the media about their feelings on the situation, regardless of their personal opinion. But that’s certainly not the case with the family of Paris Hilton.
The celebutante recently kicked beefy beau Doug Reinhardt to the curb, and those close to Paris aren’t being political when it comes to voicing their feelings.
"I think Paris needs to be with someone who is a bit more mature, older and has their own thing," her mom, Kathy Hilton, told <a href="http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b130169_hilton_family_doug_was_riding_paris.html" target="_blank">E! News</a> on Friday.
The Simple Life star’s aunt, Kyle Richards, pulled even fewer punches.
"The stories out there about our family not approving of their relationship are completely true," she confessed. "Doug was riding Paris’ coattails."
This all might seem like rubbing sand in Doug’s wounds, after last week’s revelation that he <a href="http://www.okmagazine.com/news/view/14834/Doug-Didn%27t-Know-He-Was-Being-Dumped" target="_blank">was the last to learn</a> about the fact that he’d been dumped.

Maybe serial dater Paris Hilton should pick up the phone and giver her mom a ring some time, because it seems Kathy Hilton’s got some good advice for her daughter.
"My dating advice for Paris would be just to take your time," Kathy tells Pop Tarts. "It is okay to be alone; you don’t have to always be with someone."
Are you listening, Paris? Probably not – the celebutante is currently heating things up by taking Doug Reinhardt of The Hills home to meet her parents. The himbo was "very nice," Kathy says.

So is her other, more monogamous-leaning daughter Nicky going to settle down soon with boyfriend Dave Katzenberg?
"Oh no, she is only 25! They are happy and a cute couple, they’re so grounded," Kathy says. "But it’s too soon for kids as well; I don’t want to be called grandma for a while."

If John McCain thought it was tough battling Barack Obama, let’s see how he likes having an angry mom to contend with as well!
Paris Hilton’s mom, Kathy, is furious with McCain for picking on her little girl in a TV ad aired last week.
McCain says the spot painting his rival as ‘just another celeb’ like Paris or Britney, was meant to be funny — but Momma Hilton doesn’t see the joke.
”It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs,” Kathy said on the Huffington Post Web site.
”And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next president of the United States.”
And McCain shouldn’t be expecting another check from the Hiltons in the post either.
Kathy and her husband donated $4,600 to his campaign this year, but she said the ad was ”a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign," according to the New York Times.

Her daughter lives a real-life soap opera and now she’ll appear on one: Paris Hilton’s mother Kathy Hilton is set to appear on the May 13 episode of CBS soap The Young and the Restless. She’ll play an overbearing magazine cover model who takes over a photo shoot from Jack Abbott (played by Peter Bergman). She taped the episode on Wednesday.
This isn’t Kathy’s first time on the small screen. In 2005 she starred in the short-lived reality TV show I Want to Be a Hilton, where contestants vied for a chance to live like a socialite.

Her daughters may go from guy to guy, but Kathy Hilton has been with her husband, Rick Hilton, since she was 15. The couple celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Nov. 24.
So what’s the secret to such longevity? In addition to hard work, respect and date nights a couple times a week, Kathy tells OK! it’s vital not to take one another for granted.
“Never get too, too comfortable, I believe,” the socialite tells OK! at the Hollywood Bag Ladies Luncheon to Benefit Lupus Research. “And be a little mysterious, unpredictable in a sense. You don’t want to wear your hair the same way all the time. Always keep things fresh and fun.”
Perhaps she’s sharing this advice with Nicky as well. The 24-year-old designer is dating David Katzenberg, son of DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey, and Kathy, 48, approves of her daughter’s pick.
“He’s a very nice boy,” she says. “I like the fact that they have respect for one another. His parents have done a fine job. They are just the nicest family. He’s a good boy.”
