Adrien Brody’s Very Public Display of Affection
December 3rd, 2008
Call us cynical, or maybe just realistic, but it was easy to tell which star couple at recent party in New York had been married for a while, and which had still to tie the knot.
At the party after the premiere for her new movie Cadillac Records, Beyoncé sat with hubby Jay Z, on one side of the room — about two feet apart — cheerfully bopping along to the music and chatting with friends and family.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the room the movie’s other star, Adrien Brody, was entangled with his fiance Elsa Pataky – barely able to stop kissing long enough to acknowledge anyone else!
Adrien must have suffered a serious dead leg, because Elsa sat on his knee most of the night with her arms wrapped around him.
"When they weren’t making out they were kissing each others noses or whispering in each others ears," said one slightly queasy party-goer. "It really seemed like Elsa was making the most of being with the star of the night!"
Joining them to celebrate the release of the movie, which follows the rise of the legendary Chess Records, were Leo DiCaprio and his buddy, Entourage’s Kevin Connolly, as well as Russell Simmons — who seemed rapt in conversation with Sports Illustrated model Marisa Miller.
Leo had called in to the shindig at Marquee after a screening of his own new release, Revolutionary Road and chatted to Kevin — who flexed his star muscle, making the security turn a blind eye while he smoked a sneaky cigarette in the trendy club.
The BOLDer Party
October 31st, 2008
It was a case of Blackberry Launch vs. Blackberry Launch when the AT & T’s Blackberry Bold hosted a soiree the day after Verizon’s Blackberry Storm – and both a week after T-Mobile introduced the G-1 Google phone. With the current economic slump and downsizing across the board, all of the affairs had a shocking lot to offer. I went to them all, and here’s how they rated:
Entertainment: Blackberry Storm takes this category, well, by storm. The Foo Fighters headlined with a nearly hour show, Queens of the Stone Age opened and John Mayer’s unscripted solo performance on the red carpet was an added bonus money couldn’t buy. Well, actually, it probably did.
Talent: This was no contest, the winner being Blackberry Bold. Although some celebs stayed only long enough to get their photo taken and grab a free phone before they left the way they came, many did stay for the free food and drinks, personal phone engraving and music downloads.
Something to Talk About: Blackberry Bold. Among the highlights I heard or witnessed was Hayden Panettiere hanging out with ex Stephen Colletti while Kevin Connolly plotted to go talk to the 18-year-old but said ‘I’m done’ after seeing Stephen feeding her dessert. Um, guys, isn’t she still with Milo?…Eva Longoria was on the arm of her BFF Mario Lopez but I was sitting beside her when she said, “I love you Mario, but I love my husband Tony more.” Then she and a group of her girls started chanting ‘Tony’ like they were courtside at a basketball game…Intriguing to me was Neal McDonough, the creepy guy from Desperate Housewives who plays Nicolette Sheridan’s husband. He walked by me, I looked straight into his ice blue eyes and got the chills. He was with a woman nearly a foot taller than him.
Cocktails: Blackberry Bold. I admit to liking the champagne, chambord and blackberry cocktails at the Blackberry Storm event but out of three only one actually had said blackberries. At Blackberry Bold the two signature offerings were champagne and elderflower liqueur St. Germaine’s (if you haven’t had it, I recommend trying it) and a Maker’s Mark with muddled strawberries. Both delicious.
Device: I haven’t studied any enough to make a very educated call on this one but T-Mobile G-1, their answer to the iphone but with a keyboard, is pretty cool.
Stay tuned for Halloween coverage tomorrow! Sooooo many parties, so little time!

ENTOURAGE BAGS SIXTH SEASON!
October 6th, 2008
Oh ye-ahh!
It’s just been announced that those Entourage boys are coming back for a sixth season of Hollywood hell-raising.
HBO said today that it’s signed up creator Doug Ellin and exec producer Mark Wahlberg to make another set of shows chronicling the showbiz rollercoaster ride that is Vincent Chase’s movie career.
The usual sizzling cast — Adrian Grenier, Jerry Ferrara, Kevin Dillon and Kevin Connolly — are all on board, Emmy-winner Jeremy Piven will be back to play agent/maniac Ari, and Perrey Reeves and Rex Lee will suffer on as his wife and PA respectively.
"I never imagined when we started that we would make it to six seasons,” Ellin said today in a statement. “HBO has been amazing in allowing the show to grow and mature."
And apparently its not just the cast and crew who are psyched — the real-life inspirations behind Vinny and his crew can’t wait for it to hit the screen either.
“We just spoke to the real Johnny Drama," said exec producers Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson, "and he is overjoyed by this pick-up.”
Production is set to begin early next year, with season six of Entourage due to begin airing in Summer 2009.
Season five is currently showing Sunday nights at 10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT, also on HBO.
VIDEO: Leo Wants You!
October 1st, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
While they may be Democrat or Republican, some celebrities don’t want to tell you who to elect as the next president, but they do want you to exercise your right to vote.
Leonardo DiCaprio and a few of his famous friends recently gathered to make a public service announcement urging viewers to make sure they’re registered to vote before election day. Sources exclusively tell OK! that the star-studded PSA was filmed at Leo’s L.A. home.
"I mean you do know that, right? You have to register first before you vote," says Leo in the almost-five minute spot.
Over three days the Body of Lies actor and his production company, Appian Way, put celebs like Tobey Maguire, Forest Whitaker, will.i.am, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Courteney Cox, Ellen DeGeneres, Jaime Foxx, Jonah Hill, Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman and more in front of the camera to get the message out to unregistered voters, asking them to also tell five friends to do the same.
The spot urges viewers to go online at that very moment to register, many saying they’ll wait while you do so.
"I’ll wait too," adds Sarah Silverman. "I’m going to take off my bra under my shirt."

Vegas Wrap Up
September 17th, 2008
I’m finally recovering from post-Vegas coma. As previously stated I went to Las Vegas for the weekend for the opening of Lavo Restaurant and Nightclub in The Palazzo Resort Hotel and Casino. To be honest, I was at first a bit ambivalent going back to the irony that I’m an events writer who doesn’t particularly care for being in crowded nightclubs. That said, I ended up having an amazing time, thanks in no small part to the club’s co-owner Noah Tepperberg and Andrew Goldberg who works on his team. Big thanks for taking care of me all weekend – and letting me dance perched safely on the banquette behind their table. From my birds eye view I could see Busta Rhymes rap live in the DJ booth directly behind me with DJ Vice as will.i.am looked on, Kevin Connolly sitting back at the neighboring table while his ex Nicky Hilton danced with her current beau David Katzenberg and Paris dancing with her beau Benj standing smoking cigarettes beside her. Shannen Doherty was there with girlfriends but ended up at Jamie Foxx’s table and K-Fed skipped jetting back to LA for his kids birthday for another night playing at the club.
