Bruce Willis‘ attorney is calling a $4 million lawsuit against the actor–in which he is accused of breaching contract to produce the film Three Stories About Joan–"frivolous" and having "no merit." Willis’ attorney tells Extra, "In over three decades of practice, I have rarely seen such an absurd lawsuit. The production companies admitted they did not have the financing in place for the film, failed to pay members of the cast and crew, and failed to deposit Bruce Willis’ compensation in escrow, which resulted in the film not going forward. After Mr. Willis threatened to sue the production companies for their breach of contract, they responded with this baseless lawsuit. Mr. Willis and other individual producers will proceed with their multi-million-dollar affirmative claims against the production companies this week, and are confident that they will prevail."

D.A. Wants Further Investigation of Chris Brown Case
February 10th, 2009
Chris Brown doesn’t have to face the music–yet. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles District Attorney said that further investigation needs to be done before moving forward with formal charges against the singer, who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend Rihanna on Sunday night.
E! News has confirmed that L.A. police detectives did present their case against Brown this morning, but that more evidence is still needed.
"Prosecutors asked for further investigation," spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News. "No further comment at this time."
Robison did not reveal any details of the LAPD’s case against the 19-year-old, who was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail.
Rihanna, who required hospitalization after the incident, is said to be cooperating with the investigation.
Neither star has spoken out about the altercation, and both have cleared their respective calendars of scheduled appearances.
Britney’s Real-Life Circus
February 3rd, 2009
Life continues to be a circus for Britney Spears. For the past several months, she has been in contact with her former boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, and former self-appointed manager Osama "Sam" Lutfi.
The singer was "reaching out to them," a source tells OK!–but not anymore. In a shocking development, Britney’s father and conservator, Jamie Spears, has legally put a stop to the communication.
On behalf of his daughter, Jamie requested and was granted a temporary restraining order on Jan. 30, which mandated that Adnan, Sam and attorney Jon Eardley all stay at least 250 yards away from Britney, refrain from contacting her by telephone and in no way try to undermine her status as a "dependent adult" controlled by a conservator.
The ruling came as a result of revelations that Britney "has had numerous telephone conversations with Mr. Ghalib and Mr. Lutfi and has exchanged numerous text messages with both of them," according to court documents.
And on Feb. 3, Sam Lutfi fired back—filing a lawsuit against Brit’s parents, Jamie and Lynn Spears, claiming they "began a campaign of slander, libel and defamation aimed at discrediting, destroying and physically and emotionally intimidating Lutfi in order to drive him out of Britney’s life."
Lutfi also wants Brit to pay him for unpaid management fees he says he’s owed.
It’s another tragic turn for the 27-year-old pop star who on March 3 will embark on her first tour in five years. "It is becoming obvious that Britney can’t give up her old life and doesn’t want to give up her old friends," an insider tells OK!. "She hates being under a conservator."

Thriller Director Sues Michael Jackson
January 28th, 2009
John Landis, the man who directed Michael Jackson’s infamous "Thriller" music video, has filed a lawsuit against the former king of pop claiming Jackson had no right to negotiate a deal to make a Broadway musical of "Thriller" without his consent.
TMZ is reporting that Landis is asking a L.A. County Superior Court Judge for a declaration that Jackson can’t make the deal without his ‘ok.’
Landis wrote and directd the "Thriller" video and documentary back in 1983. Reports surfaced recently that Jacko cut a deal with the Nederlander Organization in which the singer made a deal in excess of $400,000 for the musical.
Earlier this month the company that hired Landis to write and direct the video claims it hasn’t received its 50% cut in "Thriller" profits for more than four years.

Adessa Eskeridge and her attorney, R.J. Molligan, claim Adessa was "not given any details as to the nature of the task or the potential danger involved. She simple followed the instructions of the police as most good citizens would do."
In her filing, they allege that the LAX police "did not want to subject Ms. Spears to the pushing, shoving, humiliation and possible physical injury that come with the paparazzi, but instead decided that Ms. Eskeridge was not important enough to give the same protections to."
Adessa’s attorney claims she was "never informed that upon deplaning, she would be mobbed by the paparazzi, that she would be in fear of her well-being, that her picture would be taken and that video of her would be all over the internet."
And lastly, the woman says she has "suffered and continues to suffer great humiliation" as a result of that day.
Adessa and her attorney are calling the incident a "false arrest" and say she is willing to consider a "fair and reasonable settlement that fully compensates her for the humiliation, fear and harassment that she has been subjected to at the hands of LAX-PD."

Richard Dreyfuss Sues Dad, Uncle
December 17th, 2008
‘Tis the season…to sue your family for millions of dollars! Richard Dreyfuss is suing his father and his uncle–reportedly for failing to pay him nearly $4 million on an unpaid loan.
The Oscar-winning actor sued the pair in August over the loan, but amended his lawsuit this week to add new allegations of financial wrongdoing. Dreyfuss says he loaned his dad and uncle $870,000 in the early 1980s to help them with a 13-story ofice building they own in downtown L.A.
The lawsuit claims Gilbert and Norman Dreyfuss may have diverted millions of dollars from a $6 million judgment they won against the state of California over a lease arrangement in the building.
Richard Dreyfuss is seeking to look at accounting records for the building, and repayment of the loan and interest.
The suit also states the Dreyfuss brothers failed to properly repay a $13 million loan on the building, resulting in a lender starting foreclosure proceedings on the property.
Gilbert Dreyfuss acknowledged last month in court filings that he made some mistakes in handling of the judgment money, but said payments on the loan are current. He stated he had used his own money to fight the case against the state and make improvements to the building.
