From L.A. to London to Rome to Paris to Berlin to New York City Tom Cruise’s around-the-globe tour to promote his new film, Lions for Lambs, has taken him just about everywhere, and though it had been kept top secret, OK! can exclusively reveal that Tom and company are going to slip one more stroll down the red carpet into his schedule — and this time, it’s the nation’s capitol.
This Wednesday night, Tom and wife Katie Holmes, who managed to squeeze in a run in Sunday’s New York City marathon before a screening of the film in Manhattan, will be at the Uptown Theater in Washington, D.C., along with a guest list that includes many of Washington’s movers and shakers.
The event will also give TomKat a chance to catch up with their good friends, Dan and Tanya Snyder. In addition to being an investment partner with Tom in United Artists, Dan owns the Washington Redskins football team. Perhaps Tom, who has watched Redskins games from the sidelines before, will stick around to see the team take on the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday?

What does a retired mob wife who may or may not be deceased do on a Saturday night? If you’re Edie Falco, who starred as Carmela, the character described above, on the beloved series The Sopranos, you hire a baby-sitter for 2-year-old son Anderson and head out for a night at the movies.
I caught up with the Emmy Award-winning actress Saturday at a private screening and dinner at the Bon Appetit Supper Club in Midtown Manhattan honoring Robert Redford’s new thought-provoking political drama, Lions for Lambs, starring Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise. While Edie declined to comment on the film, she was a lot more forthcoming on why she’s popping up in a three-episode guest stint on 30 Rock, which scored this year’s Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
“I wanted to do it because Alec Baldwin is so funny and a comical genius. He and [show creator] Tina Fey both are,” she shared. Edie plays C.C., a democratic congresswoman who falls for network executive and staunch Republican Jack Donaghy, played by Alec. “I was thrilled to be trying that stuff because it couldn’t be more different than what I usually do.” Will there be any lip-locking with the funnyman? “I’m not saying, you’ll just have to watch,” Edie teased before adding, “I’ll just say, yes.”
Playing Alec Baldwin’s love interest? That should earn her another Emmy right there.
Look for Edie on 30 Rock beginning Thurs., Nov. 15 at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.

Only hours after walking the red carpet at the L.A. premiere of Lions for Lambs, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes hopped an east-bound private plane headed for Manhattan, where sources confirm to OK! that Katie is planning on taking part in Sunday’s New York City Marathon.
As OK! exclusively reported several weeks ago, after months of secretly training in predawn runs in Beverly Hills and Berlin, Suri’s mom is scheduled to make her first-ever marathon run this weekend. The 28-year-old actress, who celebrates her first wedding anniversary to Tom on Nov. 18, will join thousands of other masochists runners, including cyclist Lance Armstrong, in the race that begins at the foot of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge in Staten Island and works its way through Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx and then back to Manhattan, where everyone collapses in exhaustion in Central Park.
Assuming Katie makes it all the way, she’ll have quite a welcoming committee at the finish line, as several members of the Holmes family are flying in from Ohio to cheer her on. They’ll join her superstar hubby at the Finish Live Banquet at Tavern on the Green where they can watch the race on monitors, get updates on racers — “Go Katie!” — and be just feet away from the racers as they clock in.
Oh, and just in case you believe the newest batch of pregnancy rumors surrounding TomKat, OK! spoke to Katie’s rep who says in no uncertain terms that the actress is “not pregnant.”
