The folks of Brignoles, France, were more than a little star-struck this morning when none other than Angelina Jolie popped into town to do a bit of shopping with son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, where the pair purchased a toy handgun. Perhaps Maddox’s recent visit to nitty-gritty NYC with dad Brad Pitt is influencing his purchasing?

After a whirlwind visit to Baghdad, Iraq on July 23, where Angelina Jolie visited with soldiers and then toured a makeshift camp for displaced people, globe-trotters Angie and Maddox flew to Heathrow Airport in London from Amman, Jordan on July 24, most likely on their way home to the rest of the Jolie-Pitt clan. We’re tired just thinking of all that traveling!

Angelina Jolie, who earlier this week traveled to the Arab nation of Jordan with her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, today traveled to neighboring Iraq.
In her role as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN’s High Commission on Refugees, Angie visited a temporary camp north of Baghdad to meet with people displaced from their homes by the ongoing violence in the Middle East. Her goal is to bring attention to the 3 million refugees in the region, and another 1.5 million outside of Iraq.

Angelina Jolie takes off into the wild blue yonder with yet another child, but this time she’s not doing it in her private single-engine plane. The Oscar-winner and her son Maddox arrived at Los Angeles International Airport together on Tuesday afternoon to catch a flight. A couple weeks ago, Angie took daughters Shiloh and Zahara for a short plane ride in her Cirrus SR22 plane.

It can’t be easy raising six young children, even if you’re a superstar like Angelina Jolie. And as any stressed-out parent knows, having a hobby that guarantees you some alone time away from the kids is a lifesaver. Of course, since Angie is a superstar, her hobby isn’t model trains or knitting — it’s flying an airplane.
And that’s just what the matriarch of the Jolie-Pitt clan was doing Thursday afternoon when she headed — without Brad Pitt or Shiloh… or Zahara… or Pax… or Maddox… or twins Knox and Vivienne — to the private Bob Hope Airport in Burbank to practice her takeoffs and landings in the small single-engine Cirrus SR22 plane that she owns.
