Horse Incident Bringing Madonna & Jesus Closer Together

April 27th, 2009

It’s been a bad few weeks for Madonna, who not only a big speed bump in her bid to adopt a second child from the African nation of Malawi, but who also suffered the dual embarrassment of first having been tossed from her horse in the Hamptons and then falsely blaming a non-existent paparazzo for causing the accident.

But according to an item in Monday’s New York Post, Madge is getting through this latest ordeal with the help of Jesus — no, not that Jesus! — Jesus Luz, the hunky Brazilian who has been the Material Girl’s on-off companion in recent months.

The Post story claims that Madonna’s friends in high places are so in favor of the coupling that they’re doing what they can to keep them together. That includes fashion designer Marc Jacobs, who reportedly penned a letter of support for Jesus’ work permit so he could remain in the good ol’ U.S. of A.

"Marc campaigned for Jesus, saying he is highly talented and a necessity to the label," the paper quotes a source as saying.

Additionally, the story claims that Madonna’s friends in the fashion biz are hiring Jesus to model their products — but only as a favor to the pop superstar. "As long as he can legally work in the U.S., they can be together," says their source.

Clad in his signature dark shades, a jean jacked and bowtie, Kanye, 31, told OK! there was only one way to describe his personal style: "Amazing!"

Celebs Glam Up For CFDA Awards

June 11th, 2008

Star power is in full effect for the CFDA Awards, held at the New York Public Library.

Fashionistas don inspired gowns as they accompany – and sometimes fawn over — their designer on the way into the gala event sponsored by Swarovski.

Victoria looks amazing, and that’s all I really care about,” Marc Jacobs says. “Who could compare to Victoria Beckham? There is no one else.”

The mother of three repays the compliment. “What Marc does, he does beautifully,” Posh Spice says. “To wear his dress is a huge honor. I love this dress. It’s great for me. Being here with Marc is a huge honor. It’s very, very exciting for me. I’m sure it’s going to be magnificent.”

Ooh, there’s Tony Parker towering over Eva Longoria Parker, who is dressed in a pink frock. “Does she look beautiful tonight?” a reporter asks. “Always,” he says with a shy smile.

Posh Spice isn’t the only star who is thrilled to be on the guest list tonight. Hilary Duff says, “It’s my first time here, and I feel very glamorous.”

Hey, it’s my new pal Jason Lewis! Who is he most excited to meet tonight? None other than his Sex And The City love interest Kim Cattrall. “Maybe I’ll go have a drink with her right now,” he laughs, before asking the impeccably-dressed eight-months-pregnant reporter for her due date. “It’s a night full of beautiful people wearing nice clothes. It’s not really that bad.”

The pregnant reporter also gets some love from Amy Poehler. They trade congratulations on their respective babies-to-be. How’s Amy feeling? “I feel good,” the SNL star says.

Oh, look, it’s Diddy. “How you doin’?” he asks me as he plows through. He mugs with Andre Leon Talley and Naomi Campbell. Hey, here’s Lil’ Kim … I love her purple dress. And now, the men’s-suit wearing Olsen twin is chatting it up with Eva Mendes.

Meanwhile, Katie Lee Joel says her Fred Leighton dress is Billy-approved. “He always likes what I wear,” she says. What is she excited about? “Just looking at what everybody has on. I love fashion, and this is an incredible night. I’m already catching all sorts of things I like. This place is a great prediction of where fashion is going to go in the future.” And, with all that cooking, how does she maintain her sleek physique? “Exercise, exercise, exercise,” she says. “I do spinning, I run and I do a lot of yoga.”

Kim Raver’s two kids are at home tonight, but they watched her get ready.

“My son is so sweet,” she says. “He told me I look like a zebra tonight. I think it’s so great that he’s got an opinion. I love it.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal is also enjoying a mom’s-night-out from daughter Ramona.

It’s showtime! Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein wins the top prize. Tom Ford, Tory Burch and Carolina Herrera also win big.

Posh Hopes for a Fashionable Future

June 4th, 2008

Victoria Beckham has won an Entrepreneur of the Year award for her fashion empire, but what she really wants is recognition from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

The 34-year-old, who launched dvb Denim last year, tells OK! at the CFDA Awards that it would be simply "amazing" if she were to be honored in the future.

"God, I mean, I don’t know. That would be amazing," she says. "I’ve got a long, long way to go. I’m working very, very hard. dvb, my clothing line, has been tremendously successful, but I’m just starting really. I’ve got a long way to go. I’m working hard."

She already has the vote of Marc Jacobs, her escort and designer of her dress for the evening.

"Who could compare to Victoria Beckham?" the designer exclaims to OK!. "I mean, there is no one else."

And Posh only had equally nice things to say about her date, who was the mastermind behind her ruffled black frock as well.

"What Marc does, he does beautifully," she says. "To wear his dress is a huge honor. I love this dress. I think it’s fun, it’s great for me being here with Marc is a huge honor. It’s very, very exciting for me."

TUESDAY: SHOPPING

November 27th, 2007

Tis’ the season and Sunday I stumbled on what I think is a perfect stocking stuffer, holiday gift, or Secret Santa present to make every girl on your holiday shopping list smile– the Marc Jacobs Solid Perfume Ring.
Spending some leisure time browsing Sephora over the weekend I found this gem while I was looking for a little perfume to carry in my purse (a necessity when you go out straight from work as often as I do). I was ecstatic to see Michael Kors (the perfume I wear more often than anything else) now makes a .5oz spray, but I was even more elated when I saw the Marc Jacobs Daisy Ring. I bought them both.
The MJ Daisy ring is something I probably would have bought on its own because it’s a great, fun accessory but the fact that it flips open and doubles as a sweet-smelling perfume – and also a toy to play with that I’ve found in the short time I’ve had it makes a great conversation piece - makes the item all that much more attractive.

And, this time I’m happy to say my love of this new product has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it’s Marc Jacobs – which itself was formerly an addiction of mine. I think there were times I was guilty of liking and buying things I normally wouldn’t just because they were Marc Jacobs. I’m recovered now, but I’m also in good company.

This morning I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelly Rutherford, the amazing hot mom on Gossip Girls . When I asked her what made her name her son Hermes she started by saying she has a bit of an obsession with the designer label Hermes. I muttered under my breath, ‘Does that mean if I have a son I may name him Marc?’

Jessica Simpson, Deborah Norville get into dressing drama at ACE Awards

November 13th, 2007 / Author: Valerie Nome

Jessica Simpson and Deborah Norville show up to the Accessories Council Eleventh Annual ACE Awards wearing the same Michael Kors leopard-print frock, and everything goes haywire.

Jessica, who is sniffly and coughing, receives a glass of water from an assistant mid-TV interview. She poses for photos and gives a wave sprinkled with a cutesy “thank you.” She has a huge cut on her left leg, and her rep cancels print interviews because her “feet hurt.” Ouch!
