Mariska Hargitay arrived at the 2009 Princess Grace Awards Gala wearing a dress that went perfectly with the event. The gala was held at the tres chic Cipriani 42nd St. in NYC on Wednesday night and the actress shined in her elegant princess dress — quite the difference from her Law & Order: SVU duds!

Mariska Hargitay Opens Up About Lung Injury
July 9th, 2009 / Author: Mary Beth Quirk
For the first time since she injured herself on the set of Law and Order: SVU last October, Mariska Hargitay is opening up about what happened: She was doing her own stunts that day, as usual, when she landed in a way that began a microscopic bleed in her lung tissue. Mariska was eventually admitted to the hospital in January, where an X-ray showed that her right lung was 50 percent collapsed.
“I began to panic,” she tells Redbook in their August issue. “I was so scared.” Read more »

Mariska, Rachael Shine at Gracie Awards
June 4th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann elevator up with me to the Gracie Awards held Wednesday at NYC’s Marriott Marquis. Peter is my reigning favorite celebrity husband. He’s always sweet but never overshares, and Mariska is equally delightful this evening.
Who’s the funniest woman in Hollywood?
“I don’t know,” Amy Poehler, who is being honored for her online series Smart Girls at the Party, tells me. “You should answer.”
Kathy Griffin bawdily greets Suze Orman. “She has a ticket, I don’t have a ticket,” the Life On The D-List star says before giving her acceptance speech laced with f-bombs. “I don’t have it together, she does. We’re like the odd couple. She’s Felix, and I’m … I don’t know. She’s the rich one.”
Rachael Ray gives props to her mom for inspiring her work ethic. “She taught me that having a rich life has nothing to do with your bank account,” she says.
Real Housewives of New York are everywhere, but Bethenny Frankel is nowhere to be found. Jill Zarin, joined by sister Lisa Wexler, makes a plea to be featured in the fashion pages wearing her gold Marc Bouwer gown.
“I’m begging you,” she says. “I’ve never made it. Bethenny’s always in those magazines in glam photos, and I’ve never made it yet. God forbid, if this is the last photo of me while I’m alive – you never know what tomorrow brings — this is the dress I want to be buried in.”
True Jackson, VP star Keke Palmer gets cagey when asked for the most inspirational woman she has met or would like to meet. “I’ve met some pretty amazing women already. I met Maya Angelou, Cicely Tyson, I met Michelle Obama, I don’t know who else I could meet. Man! I met Oprah. I met them. I’m lucky! I don’t think I can pick one because they’re all inspirational in their own way.”
Dinner is served. Tonight it’s steak, cheese rice, red pepper, green beans and assorted desserts. Mmm, delish.
Ooh, another gift bag. This time, it’s all about the thank you notes, Reader’s Digest, Dove Go Fresh cool moisture beauty bar with cucumber and green tea scent; Dove fragrance infusion cream oil body wash; Dove intense damage therapy conditioner, Dove Pro-age hand cream and Dove clinical protection deodorant. Alright!

Katie Lee Joel Adds Intrigue
April 22nd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
Even with Bono, Bill Clinton, Jon Bon Jovi, Mariska Hargitay, Jimmy Fallon and Rachael Ray attending the Food Bank for New York City’s Can-Do Awards Dinner held Tuesday at Abigail Kirsch’s Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers, Katie Lee Joel is the biggest get of the night amid rumors of her affair with designer Yigal Azrouel.
The usually chatty chef married to Billy Joel is rushed through the press area for the first time in her life.
“Sorry, we have to pull her,” the rep says as Katie dodges reporters.
It’s a much different scenario than my experience last month when Katie was promoting ScottsMiracle-Gro GroGood campaign. She shared a pointed life lesson with me.
“Just do unto others as they’ll do unto you,” Katie told me March 18. “Treat people the way that you want to be treated.”
Time changes everything, and at tonight’s Food Bank Can-Do Awards Mariska Hargitay is rejoicing after suffering a collapsed lung earlier this year. How is she feeling?
“Much better,” Mariska says.
Jon Bon Jovi is bashful about being honored tonight.
“It’s humbling,” the brown eyeliner-wearing rocker says. “It was difficult for me to accept it, simply because when you’re doing something out of the goodness of your heart for as many years as this whole foundation has been building houses, we really don’t look for the accolades.”
What does he have to say about the dead dolphin found outside his home?
“He was trying to cross the hill to get to the house,” he jokes. “He thought he was a Miami Dolphin, you know?”
Being in the presence of this New Jersey icon makes Rachael Ray weak in the knees.
“I sang every song into a hairbrush, and isn’t that the appropriate way to celebrate Bon Jovi?” the food host yuks.
How does the Dunkin Donuts pitchwoman – who didn’t get her free iced coffee that day — encourage others to eat healthy?
“It’s very easy to eat very well, and it’s getting more affordable, thank God,” Rachael says in her raspy voice. “If you like to eat healthy, buy locally grown, go to Farmer’s Markets – it’s the last bargain left in food — and if you want to feel better about eating pasta, my favorite food group, switch over to whole grain. It’s full of fiber and protein.”
Jimmy Fallon confesses his love for Fig Newtons and vanilla ice cream. “Yeah!” his jovial wife Nancy Juvonen says. “By the way, the other thing that’s fantastic is grape nuts and vanilla ice cream. I’m not kidding. You’ll flip out.”
We spot Alan Wyse, Kim Cattrall’s boyfriend, who dishes on his SATC love, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s BFF Mario Batali, who is wearing orange crocs.
Here is Helena Christensen, who broke her front tooth Monday. Ouch! Who is the cutest baby in Hollywood? “The cutest baby is not in Hollywood,” she says in her Dutch accent. “The cutest baby’s in my girlfriend’s belly over there.” Aww!
While Emeril Lagasse doesn’t watch American Idol, he does have a reality show in mind.
“My reality show is basically you get a bunch of celebrities, and you all get on a scale and you weigh them. Whoever weighs the most at the end of the show, at the end of the series, they win. Wouldn’t that be a cool series? Just eat galore.”
Psst. The very-married chef is crushing on Britain’s Got Talent dynamo Susan Boyle. Ooh!
“She seems like a pretty cool lady,” he tells me.
Inside Hilary Duff’s SVU Shoot
March 23rd, 2009
Squeaky-clean pop princess Hilary Duff will have some very racy scenes in her upcoming episode of Law and Order: SVU, according to on-set snitches.
SPOILER ALERT! Don’t read on if you don’t want to know what happens this season!
Production insiders on the set in NYC have told OK! that scenes will include Hil "grinding on some guy’s crotch in Atlantic City," while the script reveals that she will be wearing a wet T-shirt and shown "drunk and partying in Cabo"!
When we got a sneak peek at the script for Hilary’s episode of the crime drama – named "Selfish" – it showed Hilary plays a woman called Ashlee Walker, a hard partying young mother whose child goes missing.
Today Hil was shooting a scene with stars Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni, in which their characters help her to look for her child, Sierra.
They visit the home of her childminder – described by locals as "nuts" – who Ashlee believes has abducted Sierra.
But it turns out that Sierra has died from a strange and powerful virus that has migrated to New York from Venezuela. The detectives then worry that Sierra has infected other children in the city.
On day four of the shoot, they are scheduled to do a courtroom scene in which Hilary will wear a T-shirt with Sierra’s face on it with the words, RIP LITTLE ANGEL printed on it.
The Amish are somehow involved.
The raunchy scenes are not being shot today, our source reveals. They are presumably intended to show how her partying has put Sierra in danger because she leaves her with the "nuts" childminder.
Even though Hil was picked up from her hotel at 6:15 this morning to report to make-up by 2 p.m.—dressed in a full-length North Face puffer to keep off the chilly weather—she still seemed in a great mood, chatting with crew members and smiling for the paparazzi.
