Salma Hayek Marries Billionaire… Again

April 27th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

It wasn’t just Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag doing the second-wedding thing this weekend. Salma Hayek and her billionaire beau François-Henri Penault, who eloped in a quickie Valentine’s Day ceremony in Paris earlier this year, finally had the A-list wedding one should expect from a A-list couple.

Technically, it wasn’t a wedding for Salma and François, as their original ceremony was legit (unlike Spencer and Heidi’s Mexican fiasco). Instead, this was a renewal of the vowels the pair made to each other, this time in front of their families and a host of other celebrities, including Bono, Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Ashley Judd and others.

So… Congratulations! Again…

Jade Goody Laid to Rest

April 4th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

The grieving family and friends of Jade Goody paid tribute to the tragic TV star today, at a touching funeral service in her hometown.

The service — attended by 300 mourners — was screened to the thousands of well-wishers waiting outside St John’s Baptist Church, in Buckhurst Hill.

Her widower Jack Tweed, 21, helped carry the white coffin into the church with other pallbearers, including his dad Andrew and Jade’s close friend Kevin Adams.

Onlookers wept as a DVD of Jade’s best moments was screened to Abba tune "Slipping Through My Fingers."

Jade’s publicist Max Clifford recalled meeting her for the first time in his reading, telling the congregation he remembered a girl "who was very ordinary and very extraordinary at the same time."

He said: “When we left the house it was cloudy and overcast.

"As we moved forwards the sun started to come through and that is what in many ways Jade’s life was like. It was difficult to start with but as she got older she took more and more control… and people came to appreciate that.”

Jade’s friend and personal trainer, Kevin Adams, read a personal tribute to her, telling mourners: “Nothing, absolutely nothing, in Jade’s life was done by half.

“Love her or hate her, that was the beauty of the girl.”

Jade died at home at the age of 27 on March 22 after losing a battle with cervical cancer.

The mother-of-two young boys - Bobby and Freddy - touched the hearts of those who watched her televised battle with cancer and read about her marriage to Jack Tweed in OK! Magazine.

The ceremony - tinged by great sadness - was held in February after Jade was told she had only weeks to live.

Today waiting fans tossed flowers onto the Big Brother star’s hearse and applauded in the rain as her plain white coffin was driven through the streets of London.

Police stopped traffic as the cortege made its way in wet, gloomy conditions to the funeral service - which was held at noon today.

Funeral director Mr Albin-Dyer, who walked alongside the vintage Rolls-Royce, said: “Bermondsey is very kind to its dead. What’s happening with Jade here isn’t uncommon to Bermondsey people.

“They all come out to wish people well as they go.”

Rev Stewart Hartley paid tribute to the star today, saying: "She was a local girl who made the best of life and of course at the end has been an inspiration to people."

He spoke of her special legacy, that has seen hundreds of young women having smear tests which can detect early signs of cervical cancer.

He said: “Several girls have said to me ’I’ve gone and had some tests done’ because Jade said they should.”

The procession stopped outside a market on Southwark Park Road, known as The Blue, where her family used to have a stall, where a single white dove was released to the cheers of onlookers.

Mr Albin-Dyer told the crowd: “I knew you’d be like this. I knew you’d come and say goodbye like this.

“So from everyone in Bermondsey, goodbye.”

The cortege then passed through the council estate where she grew up.

Hours before the start of the funeral Jade’s fans were lining the street outside St John the Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, where a big screen relayed the service to the public.

Among the waiting crowd was mum-of-seven Kirsty Brooks, 34, of Westbury, Wiltshire, who travelled for seven-and-a-half hours to witness the funeral.

She said: “We have always been big fans of Jade since Big Brother and have just always followed her.

“She was just a real woman who always put her kids first to the end. She also shared the same birthday as my late daughter, who passed away.”

Her sister, mum-of-two, Stephanie Bryant, 24, of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, added: “Jade was so unselfish, she was always smiling no matter what happened to her.

“She coped admirably with her illness, better than many of us would have done.

“Most of us would have crumbled. Right up until the end all she thought of was her two boys, not herself.

“If she has saved one life now, she has achieved her goal.”

Also outside the church was Bishop Jonathan Blake, who stood talking to members of the crowd and journalists.

He said: “Jade was always raw and real. There was nothing superficial about Jade.

“When she had this diagnosis many celebrities would have hidden away at that point but she didn’t, she stood out until the end.”

He added: “She lived in the glare of the public spotlight; she felt a great debt to the public.

“That relationship with the public was something she had.”

Publicist Max Clifford today said the public reaction would have pleased Jade.

He said: “It is very much the way she wanted it,” he said.

“In life she loved being loved and it is pretty clear that this is the overwhelming feeling today.

“She will have a big smile on her face when she sees what is going on today.”

Mr Clifford said Jade’s mother Jackiey Budden, 51, was “distraught” and Mr Tweed was “heartbroken”.

He said: “Jackiey is absolutely distraught. Jack is very much within himself. He is that kind of lad.

“He keeps everything inside. He doesn’t show his feelings but the fact is he is absolutely heartbroken.

Jade’s sons are reportedly in Australia with their father Jeff Brazier.

Felicity & Bill are Still Sexy!

March 23rd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

After 11 years of marriage and two daughters, Felicity Huffman and husband William H. Macy manage to keep their romance alive!

Recently, Felicity treated Bill to an early birthday treat at the St. Regis Resort, Monarch Beach, in Dana Point, Calif., where they got massages and dined at the resort’s Stonehill Tavern.

"They had a wonderful celebration," a source says of Felicity, 46, and Bill, who turned 59 on March 13, "with no kids in sight."

The actress recently told the L.A. Times that she struggles with motherhood, despite always seeming to play motherly roles on screen.

"I thought that maybe it’s my age, or maybe it’s a little gift or joke from God: ‘That thing that you struggle with so mightily, well, I want you to do it in your professional career as well,” she says. “I did not enter into motherhood with any sense of equanimity or grace.”

She adds, "I’m surrounded by women who are much better mothers than I am, and they come to it much more naturally."

Speaking outside her home, wearing pajamas with a coat over the top, she added: “Family and friends would like privacy at last.”

In a sad twist, today is Mother’s Day in the U.K.

Referring to how her public battle with cancer has raised awareness of the disease, Mr. Clifford said: “I think she’s going to be remembered as a young girl who has, and who will, save an awful lot of lives.

“She was a very, very brave girl. And she faced her death in the way she faced her whole life - full on, with a lot of courage.”

Before she died, Jade made sure she was christened alongside her boys, and married the love of her life, Jack Tweed. She passed away a month after her wedding.

Jade’s life was a true Cinderella story of rags-to-riches and her against-the-odds success made her one of Britain’s most loved reality TV stars.

Jade Cerisa Lorraine Goody was born June 5th, 1981 in Bermondsey, South East London and was brought up by her mother Jackiey Budden.

After leaving school she worked as a dental nurse before her life took an unexpected turn in 2002 when she saw a TV advert asking for people to take part in the UK’s Big Brother 3.

Within a day of arriving on our screens viewers put her up for eviction – but luckily her fellow housemates saved her and as time went on, she became the nation’s talking point.

By the time the show came to an end agents were lining up to sign Jade, with experts claiming she could make millions of pounds.

Following her success on Big Brother Jade fronted five of her own TV shows as well as countless celebrity appearances on talkshows.

She also released three fitness DVDs and two perfumes, including "Shh…" – which was a best seller in 2006.

Jade remained in the public eye with appearances on many more British TV shows, including Celebrity Stars in their Eyes, Celebrity Driving School, Celebrity Weakest Link and Celebrity Wife Swap.

She wrote two autobiographies, a cookbook, became a regular magazine contributor and opened up her own beauty salon – which became the focus of her reality TV show Jade’s Salon.

Jade soon found romance with hunky fellow reality TV star Jeff Brazier. The couple had two children together, Bobby and Freddy, before breaking up in 2004.

Then Jade met Jack Tweed, whom she would eventually marry.

In 2007, Jade hit the headlines again after becoming embroiled in a race row during her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother with fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty.

After losing TV and book deals, Jade bravely faced her critics, visiting India, where she said: "I am sincerely sorry for the pain and hurt I caused to Shilpa’s family. I am wrong and I am not trying to justify [my words] in any way." Shilpa, meanwhile, revealed she had forgiven Jade and that the public should too.

But Jade ploughed on, reuniting with Shilpa on India’s own version of ir in August 2008.

She planned to spend many weeks as a contestant, showing the Indian public the real woman behind the headlines.

However, it wasn’t to be as she was called into the Diary Room and told the devastating news that she had cervical cancer.

Jade fought hard and was determined not to let the disease kill her. But after months of chemotherapy and treatments Jade’s doctors told her the disease had spread and little else could be done for her.

On February 22nd 2009, Jade married Jack, the love of her life, wearing a dress from Harrod’s in a stunning ceremony in Essex.

Jade Goody died from cervical cancer on March 22nd, 2009, aged 27.

Hammer-Wielding Woman Confronts Jade Goody in Hospital

March 9th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

A shaken Jade Goody is recovering after being confronted in her hospital room by a woman with a hammer.

The terminally-ill UK reality star woke up to find the woman leaning over her clutching the tool at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital, her publicist Max Clifford said.

Police were called and they arrested the 41-year-old suspect, but she was eventually released from custody with no further action being taken.

The incident happened on Sunday shortly after Goody’s husband Jack Tweed had left the room to go to get a cup of tea.

Mr Clifford said security had been stepped up following the security breach. He said Goody was not hurt but was "very shaken up".

Police officers searched the woman intruder and found her to be in possession of a hammer. She was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody at a west London police station.

Mr Tweed spent several hours with Goody on Sunday as she tried to rest following Saturday’s emotional christening ceremony at the hospital.

Her two sons Bobby, five, and Freddy, four, were also christened with their mother during what Mr Clifford described as a "very short and emotional service".

He said completing the ceremony and getting married to Tweed meant the 27-year-old had done all she wanted to before she died.

Goody, who has been told she has only weeks to live, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August last year.

Jade Goody Christened in UK Hospital

With perhaps only days or weeks left to live, terminally ill UK reality star Jade Goody joined her two young sons in being christened.

The ceremony took place in the chapel of London’s Royal Marsden Hospital, where 27-year-old Jade is currently under medical supervision.

According to reports out of the UK, Jade sat in a wheelchair with 4-year-old son Freddie on her lap during the service. The hospital’s chaplain Rev. Chris Lee presided over the ceremony, alongside Jade’s hometown vicar, Corinne Brixton.

Among the almost 30 people in attendance were Jade’s new husband, Jack Tweed, as well as former boyfriend and father to Freddie and 5-year-old Bobby, Jeff Brazier.

Jade’s rep Max Clifford explained the decision to have the christening. "This is Jade’s way of keeping in touch with the boys. Her words were, ‘They have got Jesus around them now.’"

Jack reportedly told friends, "It was a very special occasion, especially for the boys… It was important to take this opportunity to have this christening today. The boys were so good. They are such a credit to their mum."

Jade Goody’s Last Party

March 3rd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Last week, OK! brought you the heartbreaking tale of Jade Goody, the British reality TV star who finally fulfilled her dream of getting married, just weeks before she is expected to succumb to the cancer that riddles her body.

On Feb. 28, Jade was rushed to the hospital with an oxygen mask clutched to her face after her condition deteriorated. Jade, 27, mother to sons Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4, wed Jack Tweed, 21, near London on Feb. 22, in an emotional ceremony in which she was barely strong enough to walk down the aisle.

Now, in the second part of Jade’s extraordinary story, OK! exclusively reveals details of the party the night of the party, including the moving speech from Jade’s eldest son, Bobby, in which he calls her "the best mommy in the whole wide world."

After the wedding ceremony and before the big dinner, ex-Big Brother star Jade, whose cervical cancer has spread to her liver, bowels, groin, and as of March 3, her Brain, was forced to lie down while nurses administered drugs to ease her pain.

She then rejoined the party and heard Jack salute her courage. "I want to say how beautiful my wife looks tonight," said Jack, who was given special permission to spend the evening with Jade, as he is currently serving an 18-month jail term for assault. "I don’t think there’s been a man prouder than I am tonight."

But then, as the clock neared midnight, Jade began to feel unwell, blood trickling from the bandage on her arm protecting her IV drip incision. She agreed to be taken to her hotel room in a wheelchair.

She later recapped the day to OK!, saying, "I am so happy. I have married the man I love and all the people I love were there to see me do it. Our last kiss felt like we were in paradise. We feel like we’re in heaven."

Newlywed Salma Hayek Attending Oscars?

February 20th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Movie studio mogul Harvey Weinstein says he’s "sure" that newlywed Salma Hayek will be at the Oscars on Sunday.

"I hope so — I’m sure," he told OK! at his designer wife’s Georgina Chapman’s Marchesa Presentation on Feb. 18 at New York Fashion Week, where guests gushed over the designers’ glamorous dresses and enjoyed endless champagne at the Moet & Chandon bar.

Salma, 42, who just married her on-off boyfriend — and father of 17-month-old daughter, Valentina — French Luxury brand billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, 46, in a private Valentine’s Day ceremony in Paris, would be making her first appearance as a married woman at the ceremony to support best friend Penélope Cruz, who is nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

"I think it’s exciting," Harvey tells OK!, adding that he’s got high hopes for some of his nominated stars. "I think we have a good chance with Kate Winslet, a very good chance with Penelope Cruz."

Of course, the Hollywood heavyweight is realistic about his chances for the top prize. "If The Reader won Best Picture, it’d be the greatest upset in Oscar history," he says. "But I’d be up for that!"
