Matt Dillon Won’t Cop to Speeding

Matt Dillon says he didn’t do it!

On Wednesday, the actor entered a not guilty plea to a charge of careless and negligent operation of a vehicle stemming from his Dec. 30 speed-related bust in Vermont.

E! Online is reporting the actor’s attorney, Mark Kaplan, entered the plea on the absent actor’s behalf during this morning’s roughly two-minute hearing.

Dillon, 44, was hit with the speeding charge last month after police clocked him driving at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The police report says the actor was cited as saying, "I screwed up, I know, I know."

If convicted, Dillon could face up to one year behind bars and face a fine of $1,000.

Stars in a Driving Daze

Apparently some stars never learn the very important lesson that fame won’t keep you from being popped for disobeying the law: Matt Dillon, Charles Barkley, and Doug Wilson (of Trading Spaces) have all been arrested recently for bad behavior while driving.

 

Matt was nabbed going 106 mph in a 65 mph zone in Vermont last night. State troopers pulled the actor over around 10 p.m., and he was  fingerprinted, cited and photographed before being sent on his law-abiding way. No word on whether he was under the influence at the time.

 

Meanwhile, Charles was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early this morning in Scottsdale, Ariz. after he ran a stop sign. He was also cited and released, according to reports.

 

Doug, better known as a designer on the popular TLC show, Trading Spaces, was pulled over and arrested early Tuesday morning after a night on the town in Illinois, according to E! News. He failed to yield to a police vehicle around one in the morning, and was taken into custody and charged with aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended license, failing to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle and unlawful transportation of alcohol. He was booked into the county jail and released a few hours later on $1,000 bond.

Cameron: Still Holding Out for Matt Dillon!

They may have broken up 10 years ago, but friends say Cameron Diaz has been holding a torch for former flame Matt Dillon all this time.  Yes, she’s dated some Hollywood hotties, including Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake and now, model and Jennifer Aniston’s ex, Paul Sculfor.  But pals say the leggy blond never really got over her first true love– and now her feelings for Dillon could be getting in the way of her current relationship!

"I’m sure she still thinks about him–a lot," Cam’s friend tells OK!.  "Cameron looks bored with Paul. He must not hold her interest.  I seriously doubt they’ll last much longer."

Especially with the sudden death of her father, Emilio Diaz, on April 15, Cameron has been reevaluating her life, reminiscing about her most meaningful relationships.  Cameron, 36, met Dillon, 44, on location in Minnesota in 1995.  At the time, Matt was filming Beautiful Girls and Cam was shooting Feeling Minnesota.  They later teamed up for the 1998 comedy There’s Something About Mary.  Things got serious, and then suddenly that same year, the couple split.

Dillon later admitted to Parade  Magazine in 2006, "I fell in love.  It’s a very powerful thing when you feel that way about somebody."

 
Since breaking up with Diaz, Dillon hasn’t dated anyone seriously and, despite her three relationships, Cameron still seems unsure of settling down.  As OK! previously reported, Cameron seemed thrilled when she and Matt ran into each other at the Chateau Marmont in March. "When she spotted him, she ran over and gave him a hug," an eyewitness said.

Matt Dillon Wants Cameron Diaz Back!

Matt Dillon has told friends and family that he regrets breaking up with his There’s Something About Mary co-star Cameron Diaz. Matt, 44, told pals that he believes the blonde beauty is his soul mate and the one person he wants to spend the rest of his life with. However, he isn’t sure what next step to take.

His brother, Entourage star Kevin Dillon, 42, told him the best thing to do is just reach out and see what happens- and so that’s what he did. “Matt reached out to Cameron to try and set up a time for them to really catch up,” a pal of Matt says. “They have a real connection that he has never found with another girl.”

The two were spotted on March 15 at the Chateau Marmont, but according to a pal, “Since then, they haven’t kept in touch as much as Matt would have liked.”

Cameron, 35, is healing after the death of her father, Emilio Diaz. She spent the weekend with those closest to her for a screening of her new film What Happens in Vegas…, telling friends that she “wanted to really think about settling down.”

Matt Dillon, 44, is on the prowl.

The actor recently met up with ex Cameron Diaz at L.A.’s Chateau Marmont, and was spotted squiring a bevy of babes at the opening of NYC’s EastSide Ink tattoo shop.

Is he interested in settling down and having children?

“Yes, but it’s not something I think you should force,” he tells me. “When the time’s right, it’ll happen I hope and that’s all I can say about that. I try to take that stuff day-by-day.”

Remember when Matt Dillon was more famous than his then barely heard of brother Kevin Dillon. That was before Entourage, during Something About Mary.There must be something about Cameron Diaz too because in the several years since Matt and Cam broke up, not only has his career been stalled but he’s been single since, keeping the company of a bevy of admiring ladies where he goes. Often at the Chateau Marmont. Over the weekend he was at of EastSide Ink Tattoo Shop in NYC’s Alphabet City and overheard mentioning he was thinking of getting a tattoo the way the Thai monks do them. A la Angelina Jolie.
