Shia LeBeouf and Michael Douglas seem to be having some kind of serious conversation as the young talent and the acting veteran hang out on the set of Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps on Wednesday in NYC.

Michael Douglas Calls Fatherhood ‘Magical’
May 18th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff
Michael Douglas loves being a dad later in life.
“I have the attention, the time, the priority,” the two-time Oscar winner, 64, who is married to Catherine Zeta Jones, 39, tells me. “This is not a business that you can balance your family life with your professional life. Most people have a nine-to-five job and they work five days a week. Sometimes they have the summer off. This is a job where you’re gone for long periods of time. When your priority becomes family first, you really get to enjoy and savor these incredible years of super-fast growing spurts. It’s a bond that’s magical.”
Dylan, 8, takes drama class while Carys, 6, does ballet.
Like son Cameron, 30, from his previous marriage, would he encourage the latest batch to go into showbiz?
“I don’t think you have a lot of control over what your children decide to do,” the Ghosts of Girlfriends Past star says. “Either encouraging or discouraging – that’s certainly the life they’re familiar with and the life they know. It wouldn’t surprise me if, like a lot of children, they go into the careers that their parents might be in. I think they’ll see the pitfalls and the great advantages. It is a gypsy life. I’ll support my children in whatever they decide to do.”
The family certainly enjoys a lavish life faraway from Hollywood.
“We live in Bermuda, where my mother came from – my mother’s a Bermudian and we have a big family down there. The kids are in school there.”
He adds, “It’s a beautiful island. Gorgeous beaches, lovely people. It creates an environment for us away from the entertainment business, and gives our kids independence and freedom where showbiz isn’t on everybody’s lips. It’s a lovely, lovely place. It’s about an hour-and-forty-five minutes – under two hours — from New York. It’s also a British colony. It’s a lot of similarities for Catherine. They drive on the left side of the road, and the Queen and all that.”
They also keep an apartment in NYC and a farm in Quebec.
“We go skiing in the winter time,” he says. “In the summertime — lake stuff.”
Charlize Theron: Messenger of Peace?
November 14th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
Joining the ranks of fellow superstars George Clooney and Michael Douglas, actress Charlize Theron became the latest A-list celeb to be named a United Nations messenger of peace.
The Aeon Flux star, 33, is now the tenth celebrity to be given the messenger of peace designation by the U.N. and she will be expected to leverage her high-wattage star power toward the goal of ending violence against women around the world.
"You have used your voice, compassion and special relationship with the public to create a better world," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said to Charlize during Friday’s announcement.
In addition to her work on film, the South African-born star has been lauded for her efforts to bring mobile health care units to the poorer and more remote regions of her native country.
Fires Threaten Celebs’ Homes
November 14th, 2008
A fire that started around 6 p.m. last night in the California town of Montecito, a favorite for celebrity homes, has already destroyed 100 homes and a college dormitory as it’s blazed through the neighborhood, according to the Associated Press.
Rob Lowe’s rep tells TMZ that his home hasn’t been hit yet, but that the actor evacuated his family last night. Oprah Winfrey also has a home in the area, about two miles from the blaze, but her rep tells the celebrity website that her house hasn’t been affected yet either.
The AP reports that around 5,400 homes in the area have been evacuated, with 14,000 residents fleeing the flames.
"We believe 100 plus homes have been destroyed," Santa Barbara County Executive Office spokeswoman Nicole Koon tells the AP. "It’s our best guess at the moment because it’s dark. We’re not counting as much as trying to protect the homes."
Montecito is a quiet town that sprung up around Charlie Chaplin’s Montecito Inn, built in the 1920s. The area has a Mediterranean feel, with Spanish-inspired colonial homes and big front yards that have attracted stars like Rob, Oprah and Michael Douglas.
Jenna Fischer’s Burger Lust
October 13th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
Calorie counting is usually a life’s work for most actresses.
But not The Office’s Jenna Fischer — when her prime-time run is over, she says, bring on the burgers!
“As soon as I’m off TV, I’m going to balloon up 20 pounds,” Jenna, who plays receptionist Pam Beesly, told OK! at an L.A. party for Tommy Hilfiger’s Bravo special Ironic Iconic America.
Until then? “I work hard,” says the star, who also appeared in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Blades of Glory. “I eat rather healthy, even when I don’t want to.”
Don’t start sharpening your steak knives quite yet, Jenna — with the run away success of The Office, it looks like you’ll be in demand for a long time to come!
In fact, she’s already rumored to be making a movie called Solitary Man with Susan Sarandon, Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito.
Catherine & Michael So In Love
August 4th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
That’s amoré! Love was on the menu for Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas during a recent dinner in Italy.
Success Signals author and body language expert Patti Wood tells OK! that Michael, 63, “absolutely shows he is Catherine’s.” And the 38-year-old actress feels the same. “She is upright and smiling largely,” says Patti. “Her arm wrapped up and around him indicates that she can and does support him and is happy.”
The couple married in 2000, and have two sons, Dylan, 8, and Carys, 5.
CZJ’s Kids Think Daddy Makes Pancakes For A Living!
July 31st, 2008
When you’re as rich and famous as Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas, you have to keep life as normal for your kids as you can, unless you want a houseful of miniature primma donnas.
But it sounds like those two may have overdone it just a little on the ‘we’re nothing special’ front.
In an interview with Britain’s The Sun newspaper, CZJ says that multi-Oscar winner Michael is so convincing in the role of ‘Average Dad’ that their kids, Dylan, 7, and Cerys, 5, think he’s a professional pancake-maker!
"Michael makes excellent pancakes. He’s pretty good at waffles, too," the Welsh actress told the paper.
"Dylan was doing occupations at school recently and the teacher said, ‘You have to go home and ask Mummy and Daddy what they do.’
“So we were trying to explain to Dylan that we make movies and he went to Michael, ‘Hang on. Mama makes movies, you make pancakes!’ So my two-time Oscar-winning husband with a career of 40 years looks at me and says, ‘Oh, it’s come to that!’”
