Miss California: It’s Not About Perez

Although Miss California, Carrie Prejean, and blogger Perez Hilton have been sparring publicly since he asked her about gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant, the beauty queen says she’s forgiven the gossiper for saying bad things about her.

 

“I don’t appreciate the things he said about me," she told FOX & Friends this morning. However, she insists fighting with Perez isn’t important. "This isn’t about him, I want to show that I love him regardless. It’s the kind of love that I want back and the respect that I want back as well."

 

Donald Trump, director of the pageant, also weighed in on the situation and his decision to let Carrie keep her crown.

 

“Look at the controversy that’s been caused and ultimately this controversy has been fantastic for the pageant which is doing really well and just got a three-year extension, by the way, on network television," says the ultimate businessman. "And, Carrie has also done, whether we like it or not, from Perez, Carrie has been the biggest beneficiary. She’s fantastic and people now get to see how fantastic she is. I happen to like Perez Hilton.”

 

Carrie made the rounds at FOX, speaking with Sean Hannity last night as well. She revealed her dream to be a model, specifically for Victoria’s Secret.

 

"Whether it’s the pink line which is a less more revealing or, you know, to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel. I think that would be amazing," she revealed.

 

How about Playboy?

 

"Absolutely not," she affirmed. "And I even got a ridiculous offer by Vivid Entertainment to do a $1 million pornographic film which I think is ridiculous."

Disgraced Miss Nevada Irate at Trump Over Miss California

In the wake of Donald Trump’s decision to not take away Miss California USA Carrie Prejean’s title after semi-nude photos of her showed up online, former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees, who was stripped of her title in 2006 following a similar incident, is… well, let’s just say she isn’t happy.

“An accurate word to describe me is irate,” the 24-year-old beauty queen tells Extra. “If you’re semi-nude, you’re semi-nude and it says so in the contract. And [Prejean] broke the contact… She should’ve had her crown taken away just like mine… For her crown not to be taken away is absolutely outrageous.”

Katie also sees a very important difference between her situation—where personal photos of her behaving badly were made public—and Carrie’s.

“The fact is Carrie purposely posed nude for these pictures. I did not," she explains. "I was a teenager who accidentally was out having a good time with her girlfriends and was unguarded… I just wonder if Mr. Trump knows what he put me through. What I’ve gone through these past two years. The strong woman that I’ve had to become to fight for myself.“

And rather than just cry over spilled milk, Katie says, "I am speaking with my lawyer right now.”

Heather Mills Judging Miss USA

A day after standing before a judge to reach her divorce settlement, Heather Mills has announced she will become one herself — sort of.

The ex-Mrs. Paul McCartney will serve as a judge for the upcoming Miss USA Pageant, Extra confirms.

Hosting the April 11 shindig will be brother-sister duo extraordinaire, Donny and Marie Osmond. Coincidentally, Heather and Marie have both been contestants on Dancing With the Stars, with 40-year-old Heather finishing seventh in the fourth season and Marie placing third last season.

On Monday afternoon, a High Court judge awarded charity campaigner Heather $48.6 million in she and Paul’s prolonged divorce settlement. It was a number that Heather was none too pleased about as she reportedly tossed a water bottle at Paul’s lawyer, Fiona Shackleton, upon hearing the figure.

The Miss USA Pageant will air April 11 on NBC, live from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Donny & Marie to Host Miss USA

The Osmond Renaissance continues as it was announced Monday that Dancing With the Stars‘ Marie Osmond and her brother Donny Osmond will play host to the Miss USA pageant in April.

The annual Donald Trump-owned pageant will be the first time since 2000 that the brother and sister, who have had a handful of televised variety shows since the 1970s, have hosted a prime-time show.

This is just the latest in the string of successes for the Osmonds. In addition to Marie’s surprising run on DWTS in the fall, Donny has landed a correspondent gig on Entertainment Tonight and is currently on the big screen with Martin Lawrence and Raven-Symone in College Road Trip.

The Miss USA Pageant will air April 11 on NBC, live from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Rumor Mill: Nick Cannon’s Beauty Queen

Just a week after actor Nick Cannon and Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks ended their brief engagement, the 27-year-old appears to have moved on to another cliché — Miss USA!

According to eyewitness at last week’s Pageant Place wrap party at NYC nightclub Tenjune, Nick and Rachel Smith, the reigning queen of the country’s most vaunted beauty pageant, seemed to be more than merely enjoying each other’s company. And at the end of the night, the Short Circuitz star and the beauty queen — who bears a striking resemblance to Nick’s ex — were spied leaving together. Oh, and did we mention that she was wearing his shirt?
