Jake & Reese: Summer Love!

On a sweltering hot Sunday in Malibu on May 18, a beautiful young couple wandered along the beach, played fetch with their dog and stopped to draw shapes in the sand.

The adorable couple was none other than Jake Gyllenhaal and is lady love Reese Witherspoon, who gave the nearly triple digit L.A. heat a run for its money with some sizzling hot action of their own!

"When the temperature started dropping toward the end of the afternoon, they both wrapped up in their beach towels, and he was making sure she was warm enough," an onlooker tells OK!.

Though summer is still weeks away, Reese,32, and Jake,27, are already getting into the spirit of the season. Sources say Jake — who is currently on hiatus from filming his movie Nailed — is planning a getaway to Martha’s Vineyard with Reese, her kids Ava,8, and Deacon,4, and his family in the coming months.

"He wants to get his family and her family together to spend a quiet weekend there," a pal of Jake tells OK!. The friend adds, "Reese thinks she’s found her soul mate in Jake."

Cover Story: Reese & Jake Ready to Wed!

Sitting in a cozy booth at the Hominy Grill in Charleston, S.C., on May 3, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were the picture of happiness. Though the cheery couple, who arrived holding hands, brought their appetites, their minds weren’t on food.

"They couldn’t keep their eyes off each other," Hominy Grill manager Brandy Mangum tells OK!. "The entire time, he was so attentive. It was really sweet. They really do make the perfect couple."

Friends of the pair say it won’t be long now before Jake pops the question to his lady love. "They’ve been talking marriage for a while," a source close to Reese reveals to OK!. "They’ll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together."

But don’t expect these two to go down the route of so many Hollywood couples who move in together and start families before getting hitched. "This is a very serious relationship," the Oscar-winner’s pal explains. "But Reese is very conservative and traditional. I’m sure she doesn’t want her kids to see her ‘living in sin.’"

When asked about their clients’ plans for walking down the aisle, Reese’s rep had no comment, while Jake’s people claim there are no immediate plans for a wedding.

Reese’s Romantic Visit

Reese Witherspoon can’t stand to be away from her man!

On May 2, the Oscar winner jetted off to Columbia, S.C., where boy-pal Jake Gyllenhaal is currently shooting his upcoming film Nailed, to pay him a visit.

“During a break around 6:30 p.m., Reese was so happy to finally get to spend some time with Jake,” a witness tells OK!. “They were giggling, teasing each other and holding hands the whole time.”

But it wasn’t all play and no work for the couple. Jake, 27, who plays Jessica Biel’s love interest in the flick, had to film a scene in Ebenezer Lutheran Church. And when the shoot went longer than expected, Reese waited anxiously in his trailer for him to wrap.

“Around 11:30 p.m., she was getting pretty impatient,” a set insider tells OK!. “Finally, a makeup woman escorted Reese up the far left aisle of the church to watch Jake finish his scene. She looked really anxious for Jake to wrap up. When he finally wrapped shortly before midnight, they left through a back exit. They were really excited to get out of there — chatting happily and sticking close together.”

The two stuck together the next day too, shopping in nearby Charleston. However, their lovers rendezvous came to an end when Reese, 32, flew to Washington, D.C. for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on May 4.

Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal Hook Up for Nailed

It was announced today that two of Tinseltown’s sexiest stars, Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal, have both committed to star together in the upcoming film Nailed, reportedly a “risque” political satire that’s set to be directed by I Heart Huckabees and Three Kings helmer David O. Russell.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jessica, who recently topped our poll of Most Envied Celeb Bodies, plays a woman who accidentally ends up with a nail in her head that causes her to experience overwhelming sexual urges, while Jake, who has recently come (somewhat) clean about his romantic relationship with Reese Witherspoon, stars as a politician who takes advantage of her situation.

While nothing is set in stone yet, production on the film will hopefully begin in January.
