No Baby Plans for Neil Patrick Harris
June 18th, 2009
Despite reports circulating the Internet today that Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burtka were looking for a surrogate mother to carry their child, the couples’ spokesperson says they’re not ready to be daddies right now.
A spokesperson for the couple just released a statement discounting the baby reports, telling AfterElton, "No, we are not currently expecting a baby. Maybe someday…”

Neil Patrick Harris Preps for Tonys
June 4th, 2009
Neil Patrick Harris might play an outgoing, extroverted, self-centered bro on How I Met Your Mother, but in real life the openly gay actor says hosting the Tony Awards is not all about him. Even the opening medley won’t feature him, he tells The Daily Beast.
"It’s going to be a pretty spectacular opening, but doesn’t involve the host," he reveals. "I’ll definitely be more of a master of ceremonies than a performing monkey. But we’ll see. I might bitch and moan about not getting the chance to sing and dance."
NPH is following in the hilarious, talented shoes of Whoopi Goldberg and Hugh Jackman, and has never hosted the awards before. So how does he plan to one-up them?
"Maybe no shirt. Maybe just the tux and the tie. Maybe not," he quips.

Neil Patrick Harris’ High-Flying Dreams
May 28th, 2009
Ever dream of flying through the air with the greatest of ease like a Cirque du Soleil performer? So did How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris.
Alas, "At 35, I don’t think they’ll hire me, but I’m doing my best," he told OK! at M&M’s World in Times Square as he launched the “Real Chocolate Relief Act,” where he helped give away thousands of free chocolate candy bars in an effort to bring smiles and some needed relief to all.
Neil swoops through the air at the Cirque School in L.A., where anyone can sign up for classes that combine Pilates, trapeze and aerial workouts.
"Everyone should, at least once in their life, have the experience of hanging by their knees," says artistic director Aloysia Gavre. "The benefit of being healthy and having a toned body is just a suprise because you have such an exhilirating time during the class, you don’t even realize you’re exhausted."

In theater news, it was announced on Thursday that How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has been tapped to honor the best of Broadway when he hosts the 2009 Tony Awards.
"The discipline of live theater — doing the same perfect thing night after night, eight times a week — never ceases to amaze me," Neil, who has starred on Broadway in Proof, Cabaret and Assassins said in a statement. "I’m truly honored to have been chosen as the master of ceremonies for this year’s Tony Awards, and I hope to help provide a first-class evening for all."
If you’re not one of the lucky ones with a ticket to the ceremony at Radio City Music Hall, you can watch the Tonys live on CBS, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
