OK! Exclusive: Katie Holmes Goes for Laughs
November 13th, 2007 / Author: OK! Staff
Looks like Katie Holmes, who recently exercised her muscles in the New York City Marathon, has chosen to exercise her comedic acting chops with a cameo appearance in the upcoming film Tropic Thunder.
OK! can exclusively reveal that Mrs. Tom Cruise will join the film’s star (and producer and director) Ben Stiller and co-stars Robert Downey, Jr., Jack Black and Nick Nolte in the (hopefully) funny flick about actors appearing in a low-budget war movie who are drafted into becoming real-life soldiers.
Shirtless stud Matthew McConaughey is also slated to make an appearance in a role initially written for Stiller’s frequent co-star Owen Wilson, who pulled out of the film in August as he continues to recover from his suicide attempt.
As reported last week by OK!, Katie is still hoping to star in The Other Side, a fantasy/comedy set to start shooting in January in Nova Scotia, though the ongoing Writers’ Guild Strike has placed that schedule in jeopardy.

Cover Story: Brit’s Best Friend Reveals All
October 31st, 2007
Aside from maybe Britney Spears herself, there is probably no one on this planet more familiar with the ins and outs of the pop starlet’s life in recent months than her good friend and constant companion Sam Lutfi. From the courthouse to the nightclub, the “Gimme More” singer rarely goes anywhere these days without her guy-friend Sam, which made him the perfect person to sit down with OK! to clear the air of all the rumors and allegations surrounding the former Mrs. Kevin Federline.
In an exclusive interview in the new issue of OK!, Sam talks openly about everything from what Brit’s career plans are for the future to stories of drug and alcohol abuse by the 25-year-old mother of two.
“When the state does eight random drug tests and they all come out negative, that speaks for itself,” Sam explains to OK!. “I said five months ago that she doesn’t do drugs, and now the judge is saying it.”
Well, one of the reasons so many believe those substance abuse rumors is Britney’s odd behavior in recent months, including her seemingly aimless, multi-hour-long drives around Malibu and Los Angeles. “Sometimes she just doesn’t want to deal with the paparazzi,” says Sam. “It gets scary out there for her and she decides, ‘All right, I’m just going to go home.’”
As for Brit’s tense relationship with ex-hubby K-Fed, Sam says Britney wants to remain friendly with the wannabe rapper and that it hurts her when people slam him in the press. “She doesn’t like anyone talking bad about him. He’s the father of her children.”

OK! Exclusive: Pharrell Dishes On Britney
October 30th, 2007 / Author: cwillett
It turns out that even Britney Spears‘ collaborators catch up with her through the news.
Producer extraordinaire Pharrell Williams, who wrote Blackout’s most ballad-y number, “Why Should I Be Sad,” recently revealed to OK! that writing a song about the poptastrophe’s life was easy-breezy — he just read about her in the papers.
“I basically just read clippings,” admits Williams. “I thought it’d be funny to take everything people were saying about her and turn it into a song.”
“Why Should I Be Sad” is a sardonic take on the dissolution of Brit-Brit’s marriage to Kevin “K-Fed” Federline — and mentions her supporting his Vegas habit and his alleged dalliances with other women.

OK! Exclusive: Brit’s Wild Night Out
October 30th, 2007
Wearing only a skimpy pink and black pirate-meets-French maid costume, Britney Spears staggered into the Hollywood hotspot Winston’s Monday night with her cousin/gal pal Alli Sims and a slew of female friends — and OK! was there as they settled into the very back corner booth near the DJ, slurping on Grey Goose vodka and mixers throughout the night.
According to an OK! spy, Brit spent a good portion of her evening in the ladies room, accompanied by Alli at all times. “I was in the restroom at the same time as Britney and Alli, who made sure Brit was always aware of the location of an available stall,” the witness tells OK!. “At one point, Brit even asked me which way the stall was because she ‘really had to go!’ She asked: ‘Is the stall this way or that way’’ gesturing toward one of the stalls and toward the exit back out into the club. I pointed her in the right direction. Britney took care of business without ever letting go of her red lollipop.”
When Britney was not spending time in the ladies room, she stayed at her booth and danced atop the table while sucking on still more red lollipops. The crowd went wild for the entire duration of her stay and she was clearly enjoying every bit of attention, meanwhile becoming more and more out of it throughout the night. Her very own “Gimme More” came on and everyone began to cheer, while Alli shouted to Brit, “C’mon, girl! Get up and dance!” Brit proceeded to jump up on the table and dance and, midsong, threw her hands up and jumped into the crowd, dirty-dancing with several male fans.
As the evening came to a close, at about 1:30 a.m., Britney headed into the ladies room — again — and was spotted chatting with a brunette female bartender. “While waiting for a stall to open up, Britney turned to the bartender, who was wearing a low-cut black dress, and said, ‘You have nice t*ts! Mine are all saggy!’ ” an eyewitness tells OK!. The bartender, somewhat dumbstruck by the comment, replied, ‘Thank you?!!” Brit then asked the girl, “Do you wanna change? I wanna switch outfits!! Let’s switch!!’”
“At this point, the bartender felt that she had no choice but to comply,” the eyewitness says. “The ladies proceeded to switch outfits and Britney happily walked back to her booth in the bartender’s duds. The bartender, clearly taken aback, but with a great attitude, went back behind the bar and continued serving drinks in Spears’ French maid outfit, telling patrons, ‘I’m wearing Britney’s costume, including her bra! She made me take her bra!’ ”
Brit left Winston’s, still wearing the bartender’s clothes. A memorable night by Britney Spears’ standards.

CD REVIEW: Britney’s Blackout — From the Inside Out
October 29th, 2007 / Author: cwillett
As Britney Spears’ new CD Blackout hits store shelves, OK! provides you with a track-by-track review of Brit’s greatest hits and misses…
1. Gimme More — She wants more. She wants to give us more. We get it. Do we want more? Like, 10 songs more? Maaaaaybe.
2. Piece of Me — Her anti-tabloid/paparazzi plea. Think Michael Jackson’s “Leave Me Alone,” without the musical resonance and relevance. Impressive use of the word “derriere.” That’s French for “butt,” y’all.
3. Radar — In which we learn what Britney wants in a man — and what’s on her radar. “Confidence is a must; cockiness is a plus; edginess is a rush; edges I like ‘em rough. A man with a Midas touch. Intoxicate me I’m a lush…” Suddenly, the K-Fed relationship makes a lot more sense. It was about booze!
4. Break the Ice — Midway through “Break the Ice” Brit mouths that she “likes this part, it feels kinda good.” That makes one of us.
5. Heaven on Earth — Pure, unadulterated pop crud — and, therefore, a sure hit among 12- to 16-year-old girls.
6. Freakshow — This is what’s called stating the obvious, Britney.
7. Toy Soldier — The chorus is “I need a soldier.” Didn’t Destiny’s Child write this song already.
8. Hot as Ice — Again with the ice imagery? “Cold as fire, hot as ice.” Doesn’t that make her, like, tepid?
9. Ooh Ooh Baby — This track features subtle a hint of Spanish guitar, and though the chorus is nothing more than “baby, baby, baby, baby” repeated ad nauseum, it’s marginally better than most of the other pop flatulence on here.
10. Perfect Lover — Ten tracks in and we’ve officially reached Britney overload. It all sounds the same: vocoded, synthesized and double-processed. Blackout is the musical equivalent of all the gas station snack foods Brit’s always circling around Malibu to stock up on. This is her Cheetos and Slurpee opus.
11. Why Should I Be Sad — The most ballad-y track by far — a not-so-veiled attack at Fed-Ex — and also, thankfully, the last track on Blackout. Which is why I’m also not sad anymore either.
Source: Britney Custody Ruling May Be Delayed
October 29th, 2007 / Author: cwillett
Looks like Britney Spears and Kevin Federline might need to wait until Wednesday to hear the judge’s decision on their drawn-out custody battle over their two boys, Sean Preston, 2, and 1-year-old Jayden James. But according to a source close to the family, it’s not the judge’s fault for the delay.
“Attorneys for both sides have asked the judge to hold off on issuing his ruling until Wednesday,” the source explains to OK!, adding, “by that point, all the weekly entertainment magazines will have gone to press and it’ll be too late to get the story in.”
However, some insiders tell OK! that it’s unlikely the judge will go along with the lawyers’ request and the ruling may end up being released as soon as later Monday afternoon.
So until we hear otherwise, OK! remains poised to bring you the decision as it happens.
