He Said/She Said in Hoff Hospitalization Story

May 4th, 2009

Over the weekend, radaronline.com posted a story claiming that big-in-Germany actor David Hasselhoff had been rushed to an L.A.-area hospital for what a source claimed to be a case of alcohol poisoning.

According to the item, the former Knight Rider star was found intoxicated by his teen daughter Hayley, who swiftly contacted the Hoff’s ex, actress Pamela Bach. The source claims that Pam not only got David to the hospital but remained there at his bedside until the wee hours of the morning.

However, the folks on the Hoff’s side are telling a different story to TMZ.com. David’s lawyer, Mel Goldsman told the site that he believes Pam is the one who leaked the story to the press, thus making her "in violation of the court’s order precluding contacting the media regarding her ex husband."

Meanwhile, the actor’s rep is only saying that the situation has all been blown out of proportion and that David "is fine and well and happy and is celebrating his father, Joe Hasselhoff’s 80th birthday tonight at dinner… along with his girlfriend, Kimberly."

Brit’s Bodyguard: Witness or Disgruntled Employee?

September 17th, 2007

As she marched out of the courthouse, Laura Wasser told OK! that celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred’s secret witness — Brit’s former, terminated bodyguard Tony Barretto, 28, was a "disgruntled employee" who was "not a credible witness."

Wasser added: "Britney’s fine. She’s staying home with the boys right now."

Allred appeared outside the courthouse moments later with Barretto and his wife, Isabelle, at his side. "Today, we came to court with a key and secret witness in the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline custody battle," Allred said. "Our client Tony Barretto was employed as a bodyguard for Ms. Spears from the time that she came out of rehab until May 17, 2007.

"During that time he was in her home on a full-time basis. He drove Ms. Spears to various appointments and observed her behavior inside of her home, outside of her home and around her children.

"During that time he became very concerned about the children and their safety.

"Though he was reluctant to come forward and become embroiled in her custody dispute, he decided to do so because of his concern about the safety and well-being of the children. He is a father of young children himself."

Barretto’s wife, Isabelle, was by his side during the press conference. "She’s here to support her husband," Allred said.

"We appeared with our client this morning, who was prepared to testify and be cross-examined under oath on his declaration, which was filed with the court and received as evidence in this case.

"We are shocked that Ms. Spears’ attorneys chose not to cross-examine our client as to the substance of his declaration.

"Our client was prepared to testify on issues of nudity by Ms. Spears, drug use and safety issues involving the children post-rehab.

"Since neither the court nor Mr. Spears’ attorneys chose to examine our client from the witness stand regarding the particulars of his highly explosive and relevant declaration, it stands unrefuted and unchallenged.

"We would hope that the court will make interim orders that would protect the children.

"We have spoken to county counsel for Child Protective Services about our client’s concerns for the children and have discussed the next step that we will take, though we are not in position to reveal that as this time."

Breaking: Britney Divorced By Lawyer

September 17th, 2007

OK! can now confirm that beleaguered pop star Britney Spears and her divorce attorney Laura Wasser have gone their separate ways. Wasser filed papers this morning removing herself from the ongoing battle between Brit and ex-hubby Kevin Federline over the custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and one-year-old Jayden James.

Britney’s relationship with Wasser had gone back to negotiating the pre-nup between the pop star and K-Fed. But legal documents obtained by OK! show that Laura wanted off the custody case as early as August 13 when her legal eagle father Dennis Wasser (in practice with his daughter) notified Kevin’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan that he was assuming the reigns. But the Wassers may have decided that life was too short to live in Britney’s world — having a client who never takes your advice is no fun! — and gave her time to find replacement counsel.

Filling in Wasser’s vacated spot is attorney Melvin Goldsman, who most recently successfully represented David "Baywatch" Hasselhoff in his bid to win his kids away from ex-wife Pamela Bach.

Good luck, Melvin!
