VIDEO: Justin Timberlake’s Bizarre Mother’s Day Gift

May 11th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Looks like Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg have done it again.

This time, the duo who bought you the ultimate romantic gift suggestion with their video for "Dick in a Box," have reunited to share their thoughts — and a lot more — in their latest Saturday Night Live clip, which aired for the first time this past weekend.

In a bizarre — and somewhat stomach-churning — celebration of Mother’s Day, the thoughtful lads have ditched their infamous boxes and are showing a little bit of love for the mothers of the world… well, more specifically, each other’s mom.

That’s right, Justin and Andy offer to romance the other’s mother, played by Hollywood hotties Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson.

Justin was so proud of the video that he and girlfriend Jessica Biel at Lucky Strike Lane’s Luxe Lounge in NYC, where they were joined by SNL star Kenan Thompson as well as Gossip Girl couple Blake Lively and Penn Badgley.

Sarah Jessica, Matthew Enjoy Date Night

January 23rd, 2009

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick put the rumors to rest during the opening night of The American Plan held Thursday at NYC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The talented twosome fight back against whispers of marital strife by putting on a happy face, smiling for the cameras and lovingly holding hands.

What’s the best part of being married?

“Uh, being married,” Sarah Jessica says before telling Matthew “hang on to me” as they make their way through the crowd. “OK,” he replies.

Here comes fur-clad Joan Rivers, who gleefully hugs a male pal when she arrives. She’s a total delight, and looks amazing. How does the comedienne stay motivated to work out?

“I can’t afford new clothes this year,” she tells me in her signature rasp. “You gain weight and you’re screwed. How much can you let out?”

What’s her favorite celebrity wedding dress of all time?

Melissa’s,” she yuks. “It was Vera Wang. Amazing. We want to sell it on eBay. The dress worked, but the marriage didn’t.”

The Celebrity Apprentice star confesses she never turns into that other reality show, American Idol, but always watches Law and Order.

“I Tivo and I live for Law and Order,” she says. “You know why? It always comes out good in the end. I don’t need trouble. I have trouble in life.”

Meanwhile, ultra glam Patricia Clarkson is a huge fan of the reality juggernaut that launched the careers of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken, David Cook, David Archuleta, Kellie Pickler and Chris Daughtry.

“I love American Idol!” she exclaims.

What does she think of the newest judge Kara DioGuardi?

“I think she’s great. I do! Honestly.”

She can’t wait to see her Pieces of April costar Katie Holmes return to Broadway in the stage version of Finding Neverland. “Of course I’ll be there,” she tells me.

The American Plan is on Broadway now.

Patricia Clarkson Gives Tips For Looking Young

January 19th, 2009

Patricia Clarkson wants everyone to know she’s surgery-free.

“Nothing’s been pulled here – it’s all me,” the 49-year-old actress tells me. “As you can see, my face very much moves.”

She doesn’t leave her skin completely to soap and water, though.

“I use Kiehl’s Firming Serum, and then I use Faces By Greta by this woman Greta Rubens. I’ve used her products for 15 years. It’s toner-moisturizer.”

Her other policies?

“I don’t eat dairy,” Patricia says. “I eat goat. I don’t eat cow. I eat goat milk, goat yogurt. And I don’t smoke, and I try not to drink too much.”

She offers high praise to her Pieces of April costar Katie Holmes and hubby Tom Cruise.

“They’re both beautiful and talented, and very kind,” Patricia says. “They’re very kind people. I’m lucky to know them.”

Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem Step Out For ‘Vicky’

August 14th, 2008

Penelope Cruz glitzes into the special screening of Vicky Cristina Barcelona held at Cinema 2 in NYC. The 34-year-old stunner is glamorous at every turn, and speaks with a thick accent. She appears in the Woody Allen dramedy about three women – Penelope, Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall – who fall in love with the same man during a vacation in Spain.

“She’s somebody who is very unstable,” Penelope says of her character. “She’s damaged. She wants to create something.”

What does she draw on from her own life when playing such a complicated role?

“You go through verses when you are preparing for your character and during interviews people ask you how you prepared for your character,” she says. “For me, I have my own system and it works every time in every movie. I think you always feel a little bit pretentious when you hear that question.”

She gets flustered when asked if she’s complicated.

Javier Bardem
returns to the familiar by acting with Penelope.  “Everybody changes I guess. I haven’t acted with her in fifteen years!”

Patricia Clarkson calls Woody “a tremendous talent.”

Here is designer Tara Subkoff to dish on the recent kiss between Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day and Lydia Hearst caught on vid.

She tells me it will appear in an ad for her Bebe line, Tara Subkoff for Bebe, which will be in stores September 1. She says the clothes range from “sexy” to “forgiving” and are perfect for everyone from high schoolers to grandmothers.

Tara says Aubrey is not part of the campaign – just Lydia.

“I think they did that to get more paparazzi. I wanted to get the point of view of their point of view.”

Why is Lyd perfect for the line?

“She really looks like the Marlena Dietrich of her time. She’s gorgeous, she’s iconic.”

And, what does she think of Aubrey?

“No comment, I don’t know her but I’m interested to find out.”

The lights dim as Carla Gugino, Zoe Kravitz, Geogina Chapman and Harvey Weinstein and stylist Phillip Bloch enter the theater. On with the show!

Vicky Cristina Barcelona is in theaters Friday.

Patricia Clarkson: Michelle Is a Beautiful Woman!

April 2nd, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Patricia Clarkson will be working with Michelle Williams on the new Martin Scorsese flick, Shutter Island. But she’s no stranger to working with Michelle. The two worked together in 2003’s The Station Agent.

Patricia spoke to OK! about her costar at the New York premiere of The Visitor (directed by The Station Agent director Thomas McCarthy), she said, “I know her. She’s a beautiful woman.”

“She’s a beautiful, wonderful woman,” she continued, “I haven’t spoken to her [since Heath Ledger's passing] so I don’t know how she’s doing. I’m not best friends with her. In Shutter Island, I don’t have any scenes with her. I only have scenes with Leonardo.”

We’re sure that they’ll have a lot to talk about once filming begins!

Rachel McAdams Shines During ‘Married Life’ Screening

March 7th, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Rachel McAdams is a doll when we meet up at NYC’s Tribeca Cinemas before a special screening of Married Life presented by The Cinema Society and Nicole Miller.

The 1940s crime drama tells the tale of a man who plots to kill his wife instead of divorcing her so he can take up with a younger woman.

Would Rachel rather live in the 1940s?

“Yeah, sure, why not?” she says. “The fashion was incredible and so glamorous. The dancing and social events would be a lot of fun. There was a little more formality. I kind of love that.”

While Helena Christensen noshes on popcorn and Pepsi, Patricia Clarkson walks the line. Does she think the institution of marriage is outdated?

“No,” she tells me. “I very much believe in the institution of marriage. I’ve never gone to that institution. Hahaha. I’ve never entered the halls of marriage, but I believe in it. My parents have an almost 55-year marriage, and my sisters have great marriages, and I have friends that have beautiful marriages. You never know. I might someday get married — maybe.”

Morgan Freeman and his daughter stop to chat before she leads him into the theater. “She’s holding my hand because she’s my guide,” he says.

Would Chris Cooper rather break someone’s heart or endure heartbreak? He picks the latter. “I was never able to confront the girlfriends when I knew we were bound to break up,” he tells me. “I always let them break up with me.”

Here is Howard Stern’s fiancée Beth Ostrosky, who is always awesome. She tells me she’s getting ready to pick out a wedding dress for her October nuptials.

Director Ira Sachs praises Rachel.

Rachel understands what it is to be a movie star,” he tells me. “She has the beauty, but she also has the mystery. She has an emotional availability, but there’s also something she’s holding back. That’s what makes someone a star.”

What about Pierce Brosnan, who also stars in the flick?

Pierce has never been better,” he tells me. “He has humor and vulnerability. I think he’s a great comic actor in the vein of Cary Grant.”

Married Life opens today in select cities.

It’s Amy Night At New York Film Critics Circle Awards

January 9th, 2008

I was so excited to meet Ben Affleck for the first time when I headed out to the New York Film Critics Circle Awards held at NYC’s Spotlight Live. What would he be like? I could only imagine, and I thought my curiosity was soon-to-be quenched until … I got the updated tip sheet. Beloved Ben had been deleted.

Well, that’s OK. I did get to speak to best supporting actress winner Amy Ryan, who stars in Ben’s flick Gone Baby Gone.

“What I most liked about Ben was his courage and his passion and his generosity,” she tells me. “He’s one of those directors who really loves actors and gives you all the room, freedom and confidence to set forth to tell the story.” Amy adds, “he’s a devoted family man.”

Tantilizing trays swing by with red wine, baby burgers, pita and feta cheese, hummus and this super-great filet mignon on crackers. Patricia Clarkson waves “hello” to me.

Alas, I would have to settle for best supporting actor winner Javier Bardem, who answers questions only in Spanish. (You never know when those foreign language classes will come in handy!)

Here’s best first film winner Sarah Polley, who earns rave reviews during many junkets. How does it feel to take the prize for Away From Her? “Amazing,” she tells me. “It’s really exciting and also really rewarding after trying for many years to make a film.” She looks forward to celebrating her 29th birthday in NYC. “I’m just going to be at my friend Doug’s place. He’s going to make dinner for a bunch of my friends. It’s going to be very low-key. Then I’ll go home to Toronto and have dinner with my family.” And what about her Go co-star Katie Holmes? “She was lovely and grounded and down-to-earth,” she says.

Fendi-clad presenter Amy Adams is caught in gridlock on the way from the bar, as Sarah chats with presenter Olympia Dukakis. “Are we going to go around?” Amy says. The Enchanted star gladhands with partygoers, and greets a young female fan with an “oh, you’re so cute.”

Presenter Jonathan Demme, who directs Anne Hathaway in Dancing With Shiva, calls the Prada star “a great American actress.” He adds, “She’s profoundly gifted. She’s a great human being. She’s as good as it gets.”

Presenter Ruby Dee calls out Will Smith, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicolson as her favorites. “I love the public ones too. I like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt because they’re such activists. They’re more than actors, and I like them because they’re humanists also. I like those actors that are wide open as human beings.” What about Denzel Washington, her American Gangster co-star? “He’s a marvelous man, and I went to see his wife Pauletta sing A Christmas Carol at Lincoln Center with Natalie Cole. Denzel is an extraordinarily creative actor and has a great sense of humor. He has a great capacity to go with the flow. He makes things up as he goes along. He’s very gifted.”

The lights flicker on-and-off, signaling the end of the cocktail hour. Time to dole out the awards …
