Christie Brinkley’s Atty: Peter Cook is “Petty”

January 6th, 2009

Christie Brinkley and her ex Peter Cook have been pretty quiet lately–but no more.

Extra is reporting that the former Sports Illustrated model and her ex are at it again, this time regarding contempt of court charges that Cook has filed against Brinkley.

Cook alleges that Christie didn’t turn over their son’s passport in a timely fashion for a trip. Brinkley’s attorney’s reaction? "Peter Cook somehow believes that the only way he can repair his image is to use the court and the media to make scurrilous claims about Christie Brinkley," he said. "His latest filing is unfounded, unwarranted and petty."

Peter Cook’s Latest Scandal

October 16th, 2008

The hits keep on coming from Peter Cook, it seems. Less than a week after his highly controversial interview with Barbara Walters on 20/20, Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband is now embroiled in a new scandal – the alleged existence of a sex tape featuring a romp between him and mistress Diana Bianchi.

However, Diana’s lawyers are now hitting back at the steamy video rumors.

In an statement obtained by Extra, Diana’s attorney, Rosemarie Arnold responds to the reports of the tape saying, "Whatever tape is out there it was recorded surreptitiously without her consent.  My partner Joe Tacopina and I are reviewing Diana’s legal options.  Mr. Cook can sit with Barbara Walters and claim to be a lamb but he is still a wolf.”

Peter and Christie’s divorce just became final, after months of legal wrangling and a bitter back and forth custody battle. Peter has admitted to spending thousands of dollars a month on Internet porn, as well as cheating on Christie with Diana, who was 18 at the time.

Christie Releases Statement on Ex’s TV Interview

October 10th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Following the airing on Friday of the much-hyped 20/20 interview with Christie Brinkley’s ex-husband Peter Cook, the former model — who attempted to file a restraining order earlier this week that would have forbidden him from allowing their children to watch the show — has released a statement about the entire sordid situation.

Through her lawyer Robert Stephan Cohen, here is Brinkley’s complete statement:

"Christie Brinkley initially sought to settle this matter privately. The state of NY is an open court system. It was Mr. Cook who sought to lock the courtroom to the media. Judge Cohen applied the law and Peter’s request to bar the media was denied. This was not Ms. Brinkely’s doing, it was the law.

"Mr. Cook has chosen to breach the confidentiality agreement in the divorce settlement, a provision agreed upon in court to protect the children and allow them to put this ordeal behind them.

"This is a tragedy. Mr. Cook has proven once again that the court appointed psychiatrist Dr. Stephen Herman was right when he testified that Peter Cook has an insatiable ego and needs constant reassurance.  Mr. Cook continues to put himself first, ultimately hurting the children.

"The court awarded Ms. Brinkley full custody of the children and all decision making concerning them.  That decision speaks for itself.

Ms. Brinkley plans to explore her legal options."

Christie’s Ex: I’m An Idiot

October 10th, 2008

In an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters on 20/20 tonight on ABC, Peter Cook admits that he was at fault for cheating on former supermodel wife Christie Brinkley with teen Diana Bianchi.

"It was my failing," he says in the interview. "I was a great father, a great husband, and I failed as a human being. I failed myself. Christie is mad at me, she’s entitled to be mad at me; I’m an idiot, I made a mistake."

However Peter also seems lay some of the blame on Christie for the end of their marriage, saying he felt like "a guest in someone else’s life" and that he cheated because he was "seeking a connection" he couldn’t find in his own marriage.

After meeting 17-year-old Diana Bianchi in 2004, Peter apparently found that "connection," offering her a job in the spring of 2005 and starting the affair soon after.

"There was a mutual attraction, flirting," he says. "One thing led to another. And, the affair began."

Christie’s ex-husband also admits that he was unfaithful in the homes that the couple owned together, including vacant ones.

From there, the marriage seemed to spiral downward, as Peter paid Diana $300K to keep quiet about the affair, and sunk $3,000 a month into Internet pornography.

For her part, Christie is not too happy with Peter’s tell-all approach when it comes to their bitter divorce. On Wednesday her lawyer Robert Stephan Cohen released a statement saying: "It is a measure of Peter Cook’s character that he has breached the confidentiality agreement that is in the divorce settlement and has sought to present this distorted one-sided view of his marriage. Mr. Cook had his days in court, testified on his own behalf and ultimately agreed with the view of the children’s court appointed attorney and psychiatrist that the children should live principally with their mother and that she should be the sole custodial parent."

Christie Brinkley Files, Denied Restraining Order

October 9th, 2008

It wouldn’t be Hollywood without a little catty drama.  And on Thursday, Christie Brinkley and her ex-husband Peter Cook helped keep the ball rolling.

A Long Island judge has denied a temporary restraining order that Brinkley requested pending the Friday broadcast of Cook’s interview on ABC’s 20/20.

As news broke of his tell-all interview with Barbara Walters, Brinkley filed a the restraining order, which would have barred Cook from allowing their children to watch his interview, in which he trashes the former Sports Illustrated model, her attorney said Thursday.

Christie Brinkley’s sole concern is to protect her children," attorney Robert Cohen said.  "The Court Order mandates that since Peter Cook has the children this weekend, his parenting has to be away from his home and he can’t expose them to the 20/20 broadcast."

In lieu of the court’s decision today, Cook’s attorney said, "The judge denied her request to suspend visitation.  Mr. Cook did agree to take the children out of the area on a little trip this weekend and that he would not expose the children to that interview, which he had no intention of doing anyway."

A source close to Cook said that Brinkley wanted the restraining order "because the kids are seen in footage during the 20/20 interview."

But the source also adds, "I find it silly that someone who not only allows her children to be in the media but encourages it would have a complaint like this."

In the interview with Walters, Cook opens up about his 10-year marriage to Christie and says that after taking a PR hit during their divorce trial, he wants to set the record straight. The trial, which rocked the Hamptons in July after Cook admitted to an affair with a teenager, Diana Bianchi, and paid her $300,000 to keep quiet about it, ultimately settled out of court.

"I’m not the…pervert that I’ve been painted to be," Cook tells Walters in the 20/2o interview.

Christie Brinkley & Peter Cook’s Divorce Final

October 8th, 2008

Although Christie Brinkley filed for divorce from architect husband Peter Cook in September of 2006, the divorce just became final on Oct. 3, according to a court document obtained by Extra.

The details of the couple’s split were a hot topic this summer, as Peter openly admitted he’d had an affair with 18-year-old Diana Bianchi. Peter also revealed that he’d spent thousands of dollars on internet porn during the marriage, while Christie says she remained faithful.

Peter has been stirring the flames of the bitter divorce, speaking openly about it in a recent interview with Barbara Walters on 20/20, airing this Friday.

"I’m not the pervert that I’ve been painted to be," he tells Barbara in the interview. "The misinformation that came out during the trial is the elephant in the room. It’s the elephant in the room for my kids."

Extra also received this statement from Robert Stephan Cohen on behalf of his client, Christie, on Peter’s revealing interview: “It is a measure of Peter Cook’s character that he has breached the confidentiality agreement that is in the divorce settlement and has sought to present this distorted one sided view of his marriage.  Mr. Cook had his days in court, testified on his own behalf and ultimately agreed with the view of the children’s court appointed attorney and psychiatrist that the children should live principally with their mother and that she should be the sole custodial parent.”

Peter Cook’s Mistress’ Music Career

July 16th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

The divorce trial may be over, but Diana Bianchi’s 15 minutes of fame aren’t!

The 21-year-old mistress who broke up the union between Christie Brinkley and husband Peter Cook is pursuing a music career and footage of the wannabe pop star  working on some songs in the studio will premiere on Extra on Thursday.

A sample lyric from her tune: " "I once was hurt before. I’ve got to move on. I’ve got to be strong."

Songwriter Tasha Covington, one of the forces behind Diana’s career, reveals the brunette is currently unsigned, but is fielding a plethora of offers after the scandal.

"She actually had a couple of deals on the table," Tasha says. "Major labels wanted her."

Tune into Extra tomorrow to see the footage for yourself!

Marriage Not Completely Ruled Out for Christie Brinkley

July 15th, 2008

After a grueling trial that resulted in a settlement with estranged husband Peter Cook, four-times married Christie Brinkley vowed never to walk down the aisle again.

“Getting married again would not be an intelligent thing to do," she said, but friends of the "Uptown Girl" feel differently.

“Like every woman who’s had her heart broken, right now she thinks she will be single for the rest of her life, but she also said that after her divorce from Billy Joel!" the pal tells OK!.

While on the stand, Christie — whom a court shrink says has men issues and needs therapy — announced that she was currently single and wouldn’t dare think to bring a new man into the lives of her children, Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10, during this time.

But, “when she least expects it, she will find someone special who deserves to be with her," the friend believes.

And who might that lucky man be? “She doesn’t have a physical type, but her next man must adore her kids as much as they adore her.”

Christie Hired P.I. to Follow Ex

July 10th, 2008

Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook’s abrupt settlement after days of acrimonious he-said-he-said was the result of damaging evidence gathered against Peter by private investigators.

P.I. twins Ty and Stephen Dux were hired by Christie last year to tail her estranged husband, and the two accumulated footage that most definitely would’ve swayed the case Christie’s way, causing Peter to halt the trial.

"It’s not of sexual nature. More information that would have been damaging to him [Cook] with his relationship to his children and possibly his community," Ty tells Extra. "Some of his actions might have been a little reckless with his kids that could have caused them some harm. Some of it could be considered illegal. But not to the fact that it’s criminal."

Court shrink Dr. Stephen Herman, who labeled Peter as a narcissist with sexual issues, testified on Tuesday that the architect showed "poor judgment" when it came to parenting and his fling with Diana Bianchi caused "irreparable harm" to his children with Christie, Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10.

"They [video tapes] were going to be introduced as evidence," Ty says. "I believe he [Cook] had enough already."

The twins aren’t allowed to release any more information of the content of the videos, but Ty admits it’s probably not needed as Peter is "ruined already." Still, the 49-year-old, who received parenting time in the settlement, "needs some type of relationship with his kids. He’s going to be with them. He’s the father."

As for Christie, who won sole custody of Jack and Sailor and all 18 of their real estate properties, Ty says, "She’s a truthful person. Sincere mom. She’s the queen of the Hamptons."
