After a tough couple of days for Paris Hilton in a Miami courtroom, the celebutante cools down by doing a little light reading — about herself.
While heading to Miami International Airport on Friday, Paris was spotted carrying a copy of Viva with her famous mug featured on the cover.
Sure, it’s not exactly War and Peace, but let’s be honest — if your face was on the cover of a magazine, you’d probably check it out too, right?
Paris had been in Miami — not to party on South Beach — but to defend herself against allegations from the producers of her 2006 film Pledge This! that she hadn’t made good on her obligations to promote the movie.

Despite being one of the worst-reviewed movies of 2006 (it currently ranks as the 15th-worst film of all time on the Internet Movie Database website), the real reason that National Lampoon’s Pledge This! was such a huge disappointment at the box office wasn’t Paris Hilton’s performance, but the lack of effort she exerted in promoting the film — or at least that’s what a lawsuit filed on Tuesday would have you believe.
Worldwide Entertainment Group, the company behind the movie, is suing the celebutante for $75,000 because they claim she did not fulfill the "reasonable promotion and publicity" part of her agreement. The hotel heiress, who recently starred in the similarly dismal The Hottie & the Nottie, was paid $1 million to appear in and "executive produce" it — not a bad deal considering the film barely managed to gross that much in global ticket sales and never even had a U.S. release.
So be warned, film producers of the world, the next time you think about hiring an actress who is more famous for her partying than her film parts, you might want to think twice.
