Mariska Hargitay must be feeling better – although she was in the hospital recently for a pneumothorax (partially collapsed lung), the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star has returned to the set of her hit show, reports E! News.
The 45-year-old actress suffered the lung injury while the show was on hiatus, and filming was delayed last week to prevent the star from missing an episode.
Mariska also missed out on the Golden Globes and SAG Awards during her illness. She was nominated for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series but didn’t receive either award.
Good health is the best reward for now, right?

Mariska Hargitay was absent from Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards and now we know why. Access Hollywood has confirmed that the Law & Order: SVU star is suffering from pneumothorax, or a partially collapsed lung.
"Mariska Hargitay has been sidelined with pneumothorax," the actress’s rep told Access, adding that "she will appear in all episodes for the rest of the season of Law & Order: SVU."
Pneumothorax can occur as a result of a chest injury including a puncture wound or broken rib but can also happen without these things. There’s no word on how the actress developed her case. Treatment includes oxygen and observation and surgery in some serious cases.
Hargitay was one of several nominated actors at last night’s Globes ceremony–including Milk’s Sean Penn and James Franco–who did not attend.
