Actor and comedian Jamie Kennedy has made a successful career out of being a puckish prankster, but OK! has learned that Jamie was recently the victim of someone else’s destructive behavior.
A rep for the Heckler star confirms to OK! that Jamie’s L.A.-area home was the site of a random act of violence, when several windows on his property were shot out by BB guns.
According to a source close to the star, Jamie arrived home late Wednesday night to discover the destruction and contacted the police, who came out and wrote up the crime scene. And it appears as if the Malibu’s Most Wanted actor’s home wasn’t the only building in the neighborhood that was damaged, as other houses on Jamie’s block suffered a similar fate.
Homes owned by nearby celebs Vince Vaughn and Adrian Grenier were left unharmed. So why was Jamie being picked on? "Maybe this was some sort of karmic payback for all the pranks and practical jokes he’s pulled over the years," the source jokes to OK!.

Ashton Kutcher may be known as Hollywood’s prankster for pulling hoaxes on A-list celebs including Katie Holmes, Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake and Lindsay Lohan in his MTV show Punk’d, which aired from 2003-2007, but Kutcher wasn’t the first TV prankster, says Jamie Kennedy, whose candid camera show The Jamie Kennedy Experiment ran from 2002-2004.
“I thought, hmmm, that location looks familiar,” said Jamie when asked what he thought of Ashton’s Punk’d. “I don’t know if they stole some of my ideas, but one of my executive producers left my show to do that show.”
Jamie has no hard feelings though and says he would like to do an edgier R-rated version of his hidden camera show based on Allen Funt’s movie, What Do You Say To A Naked Lady?.
“It was just a bunch of topless secretaries and guys would come in to apply for a job and they were topless and it was hilarious,” said Jamieat the Supper Club dinner party for his film Heckler at the Toronto Film Festival. “I want to do my version of The Jamie Kennedy Experiment with hot girls, some naked, where you can curse.”
If Jamie is serious, could Ashton compete with that?

Even more than his various TV and movie roles, Ashton Kutcher is probably best known as one of Hollywood’s biggest pranksters. With his shows Punk’d and Pop Fiction, the hunky star has essentially made a one-person industry out of tricking his fellow celebs and the media. But surprisingly, Ashton says he draws the line at all this tomfoolery when he’s actually working on a film.
"If you punk your co-stars, people won’t wanna work with you anymore," he explained on Monday’s Today Show, where he and co-star Cameron Diaz appeared to promote their new film, What Happens in Vegas.

Cameron agreed that this was a wise decision on Ashton’s part. "The biggest thing… is trust," she said about working together on a film, adding that such trust flies right out the window, "if you think that around every corner, you’re going to get slapped in the face!"
This morning also saw the first time that Cameron spoke to the press about the recent loss of her father. "You can’t really sum it up in words," a choked-up Cam told Meredith Vieira when asked to describe what her dad had meant to her. "We’re just so fortunate to have the family that we have."
