Brandy Says Ray J & Whitney Not a Couple

R&B singer Brandy is setting the record straight regarding rumors that her brother, Ray J, and Whitney Houston are an item.

In the winter issue of Rap-Up Magazine, Brandy reveals exactly what is going on between the unlikely couple.

"Well, every time I ask Ray J about Whitney he always says that’s just his friend," Brandy says. "He’s not dating her. And I don’t think that he would lie to me. I said, ‘Well, Ray, that’s not the way it looks. People think that you and Whitney are in a relationship.’
He was like, ‘Well, that’s what they’re gonna think, but I’m telling you the truth and I’m not dating Whitney. Whitney and I are just really good friends and that’s it.’ When I ask Whitney, she says the same thing, unless they are just pulling the wool over my eyes. But I think he’s telling the truth."

Whitney and Ray J appeared together at a boxing match back in April, which set tongues wagging that the two were romantically involved. Houston was infamously married to Bobby Brown and the two have a daughter, Bobby Christina. Ray J is known for that little video he made with then-girlfriend, Kim Kardashian,–which basically made her famous.

Brandy Opens Up About Tragic Car Accident

Grammy-winning singer Brandy is back on the music scene with a new album, titled Human, and is revealing what she’s been up to over the last couple of years.

In an interview with Extra airing tonight, Brandy also opens up about her tragic car accident two years ago that took the life of the other driver.

"It’s a little hard for me to talk about it…You never expect something like that to happen or wake up intending for that to happen," she says. "It just happens and we don’t know why."

On a lighter note, Brandy says she’s enjoying the single life, saying, "I don’t have a boyfriend!…Brothers are just going to have to step up their game!" When asked if men are becoming weak, the singer responds, "Not that they are becoming weak. I just know what I want."

Brandy isn’t the only star in her family. Her brother Ray J is also a singer and the two have been talking collaboration.

"Ray J and I will do a record together," Brandy says. "I promise. We’re going to call it R and B for Ray  J and Brandy."

Brandy’s Mom Fires Back

Earlier today, Kim Kardashian reached out to OK! in an attempt to clear the air surrounding the lawsuit filed by her former employer Sonja Norwood, mother of R&B star Brandy and Kim’s former beau Ray-J.

Now, Sonja is shooting back with some words of her own on the matter. In a statement released to OK!, she claims —

"I did not want to commence litigation against the Kardashian family without conducting an exhaustive investigation into the charges, and discussing all options, including criminal prosecution, with my family. After Ray-J and Brandy urged me not to file criminal charges because of their prior friendship, I decided to afford the Kardashians an opportunity to resolve this matter without a lawsuit. When the fraudulent charges were brought to their attention, they apologized profusely, and advised us, through their attorneys, that they would pay the debt in full. However, they have since reneged on that promise. The investigation has revealed that the Kardashians used their two stores and other stores that I have never visited to take advantage of me. I very much look forward to having the Kardashians account for their misconduct in a court of law. I also welcome the examination of any so called evidence to determine whether it was fraudulently obtained or whether it constitutes a forgery."

The lawsuit filed earlier this week alleges that Kim and her siblings abused the Norwood’s credit cards to the tune of $121,635.

Kim Kardashian Responds to Allegations

A day after Brandy’s mother Sonja Norwood filed suit against Kim Kardashian and her siblings for allegedly abusing her credit card, the socialite has reached out to OK! to respond to the allegations.

"The charges against the Kardashians are meritless," Kim’s rep tells OK!. "Both Kim and Khloe were employed by the Norwoods and never used their credit cards without their express authorization. The Kardashian family looks forward to proving the absurdity of these claims in a court of law."

Sonja, who’s also Brandy’s manager, filed a lawsuit against Kim on Monday, accusing the socialite of unauthorized credit card abuse in 2006 and 2007.

Kim — who was in that infamous sex tape with Brandy’s brother Ray J — got her hand on Sonja’s American Express card back in 2004 when she worked as Brandy’s stylist and was given permission to purchase one item on the card.

According to the papers, Sonja alleges that Kim, 27, passed the digits onto her siblings, Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr. and racked up a total of $121,635.65 in unauthorized charges together. Two of those purchases were in the Kardashian-owned stores, Dash and Smooch.

Sonja is seeking complete return, plus an additional 10 percent interest.
