An Emotional Jennifer Lopez Celebrates the Big 4-0 Again

One night after celebrating her 40th birthday with an intimate family and friends party at NYC’s Hotel Griffou, Jennifer Lopez was at it again on Saturday. This time, the singer/actress and hubby Marc Anthony were joined by a handful of celebrity guests at what was called “An Evening For Lola” at the Edison Ballroom.
Among those in attendance for the bash were Ricky Martin, Liza Minnelli, Gayle King, and J.Lo’s co-star in The Backup Plan, Alex O’Loughlin.
When Jennifer arrived at the ballroom, she appeared to be overcome with emotion. “She looked genuinely shocked, like she expected something, but not this,” one onlooker tells OK!. “She had a huge smile on her face and looked teary-eyed at one point as she went in.” Jen even took the time to greet and take pictures with some fans.

Lesson to be learned in celebrity journalism: Be careful how you quote.
Ricky Martin fans were shocked (or maybe not) last week when Puerto Rican magazine TV Aqui hinted towards bisexuality by quoting the singer as saying his heart “could belong to a man or a woman.”
However it turns out that when translating the video footage of the quote, Ricky didn’t quite say that. Instead, TheAdocate.com reports, he says: "Eh, the heart of Ricky Martin? Look, whether it has or doesn’t have a male owner or a female owner, I have never spoken about that topic, so don’t…"
A reporter from Examiner.com even asked a TV Aqui editor if Ricky ever actually admitted he was bisexual, and nope, he never did.
Demi Lovato, Menudo Hit Court For Kids’ Day

Demi Lovato, Menudo, Quddus and Susie Castillo are on hand for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day held during the U.S. Open at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens.
As kids clamor for autographs, Demi calls out “Group interview! How’s it going?” as reporters gather round on the tennis court.
Is she a big tennis fan?
“I wish I was a bigger sports fan. I grew up in school and I don’t play sports. I’m horrible at sports. I’m actually very uncoordinated. I’m surprised that I don’t fall more onstage.”
How are her Camp Rock costars the Jonas Brothers protective of her?
“Well, they’ve always got my back, and they’re always making sure … Kevin’s like ‘do you need any water? Are you OK?’ I’m like ‘I’m OK, thank you.’ And they’re like ‘I’ll come get you something,’ and I’m like ‘no, it’s fine.’ They’re like ‘watch your step.’ One time I was on stage, and there was a step. To make sure that I saw it, Joe was like ‘watch your step.’ It was pretty funny.”
Photogs snap away as she makes a klutzy face.
“And they just got that on their picture, so that’s pretty awesome.”
How does Demi prolong her summer look?
“I don’t go out in the sun. This is the only sun I’ve gotten all summer. I like sunblock and not getting tan. It’s much more safe.”
How does she stay grounded?
“These people [points to fans clamoring in the stands], because without them waving and stuff like that, I wouldn’t be here,” she says. “When you take time and talk to them and appreciate them, you learn that they’re real people who like your music, and to have people like your music in general is an awesome feeling.”
The Menudo boys swoop through. Any thoughts on Ricky Martin’s newborn twins?
“Congratulations, Ricky,” Carlos Olivero tells me. “I wish you nothing but th e best with your children. I don’t know how it is to have kids, but I have a little baby brother, and I know it’s the greatest thing in the world to take care of a baby, so congratulations with you, and I wish you nothing but success with your music and everything else.”
Why will he be a great dad?
“He’s one of the most kindest, humblest, most down-to-earth humble people out there in the industry, so I honestly think the kids are well off.”

Pop sensation Ricky Martin, 36, has been out of the spotlight for a while, and it turns out he’s been busy: Representatives for the "She Bangs" singer just announced Ricky is the father of twin boys born a few weeks ago, according to the AP.
We know what you’re thinking, and no, you’re not missing something – the boys were born via a surrogate mother.
The statement goes on to say that the boys are both healthy and being taken care of full-time by Ricky, who will continue to lay low.
”Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent," the statement says, "and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children."

With a career that encompasses everything from Spanish-language boy band Menudo to General Hospital to Broadway to pop superstardom, Ricky Martin has sure squeezed an awful lot into his young 35 years on this planet — enough to earn the singer/dancer/actor a coveted spot on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
At a ceremony held Tuesday afternoon on the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Highland Ave., where his star will reside, Ricky addressed the gathered crowd of screaming fans. “This is an incredible moment,” the singer said. “Everything I do, I do with love and passion.”
