Jade Goody’s Diary Reveals Warm Words from Queen

April 15th, 2009

Jade Goody received a message of support from the Queen’s correspondence office during her final days, The Daily Mail is reporting.

The office wrote to the reality star after receiving a letter from Goody’s sister-in-law, Laura. Jade wrote about the letter in a diary she kept during her battle with cervical cancer.

In Jade: Forever In My Heart, excerpts of which appear in the UK edition of OK!, Goody wrote: "Jack’s sister Laura came and read out a letter from the Queen’s secretary: ‘I have been instructed to convey the Queen’s warmest good wishes to Jade at what must be a very difficult time for her and her family.’ Laura had written to her asking for her support because she knows how much I love the Queen.

" ‘The Queen!’ I said. That was so nice.’ "

The reality TV star, who died last month at age 27, also wrote of her love and admiration for husband Jack Tweed, who nursed her through her final weeks.

"Tweed was jailed for 12 weeks by magistrates in Harlow, Essex, today for assaulting a taxi driver, and was told he would have been given a longer sentence had it not been for the ‘recent change in (his) personal circumstances.’ "

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "We respond to all letters that come to Buckingham Palace but the contents remain private."

Harry & Chelsy Just Can’t Be Apart

April 3rd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

They split in January, but Prince Harry and his on-and-off-again girlfriend Chelsy Davy can’t seem to extinguish the spark they share.

First Chelsy, 23, who is currently studying law at the University of Leeds, appeared to be moving on with a mystery man – who later turned out to be the prince in disguise! The 24-year-old donned a long black wig to join Chelsy’s classmates at a rave in South London’s Vauxhall on March 20.

But the very next day, Harry was spotted at a rugby match with more than the game on his mind – he had a young lady on his lap!

The affection of Kate Middleton’s pal Astrid Harbord, 27, may have distracted Harry momentarily, but friends are certain that he and Chelsy, who have been involved since late 2004, will reunite when the time is right.

“He’s been under a lot of pressure,” a royal insider tells OK! of the prince, who has been entrenched in training to become a pilot with the UK’s Army Air Corps. “But they are still attracted to each other and will probably get back together this summer, when Chelsy finishes her law exams.”

Wills & Kate: The Wedding Can Wait!

March 19th, 2009

Don’t believe those whispers of an engagement between Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton!

OK! has learned that "I Dos" are unlikely to happen anytime soon. Just before 26-year-old William entered the Royal Air Force Shawbury in January, he was warned that training would be time-consuming and intense. "The instructors would never advise anyone to start planning a wedding, let alone a royal wedding, while on course," an insider tells OK!.

Meanwhile, at a recent London event, the Prince spoke out about the grief he suffered following the 1997 death of his mother, Princess Diana.

"Never being able to say the word ‘Mummy’ again in your life sounds like a small thing. However for many, including me, it is really only just a word – hollow and evoking only memories," said William, a patron of the Child Bereavement Charity. "Losing a close family member is one of the hardest things anyone can endure."

Prince William & Kate Make Plans to Shack Up

February 23rd, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Heir to the British throne Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton are moving one step closer to marriage as they’re in the middle of making plans to move in together. Looks like the eldest son of Charles and Diana has his eye on a refurbished house at a Royal Air Force base where he’s earning his wings as a helicopter pilot.

The 26-year-old and his gal-pal had been making plans to rent a home from a friend of the royal family, but it looks like security issues derailed that idea. So now he and Kate will be shacking up at the military base in Shropshire, UK, until September.

At that point, Billy boy will get some more hands-on experience at real-life air-sea rescue bases around Britain.

“Kate is thrilled that after all the waiting she and William will finally have a grown-up life together," a family friend says. "She sometimes feels like they’re the world’s oldest teenagers still living with their parents.”

Officially, only William will be registered as living at the newly-decorated RAF?quarters but Kate will be able to stay overnight as often as she likes.

An aide said: “Married quarters are formally for married couples… But the prince is, of course, allowed visitors and officers are allowed to live off base in secure accommodation.”

Kate and William have not shared a home together since they were both at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where they rented a cottage with friends.

Prince Harry’s Latest Verbal No-No

February 11th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Is "if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all" not a lesson taught to royal kids these days? England’s Prince Harry has gotten himself into hot water once again by making an offensive remark in public.

The UK’s Daily Mirror reports that comedian Stephen K. Amos relayed a story of an encounter with the ginger Prince during Prince Charles’ 60th birthday celebration in November.

Amos explained, while on TV show The Wright Stuff: “Harry said, ‘Hello, tell me, amusing… but you don’t sound like a black chap.”

Others on the show reportedly gasped, and Amos went on to say that he "wanted to say, [putting on an accent] ‘How is I supposed to sound?’”

Although Amos adds that he hopes the comment was made as a joke, it might not seem too funny, especially in the light of other recent offensive language by Harry. The third in line to the throne apologized last month for using a derogatory term to describe a Pakistanian solider he knew.

Why Did Prince Harry & Chelsy Split?

January 26th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

It looks like the prospect of being a princess was a little more than Prince Harry’s girlfriend Chelsy Davy could handle, as reports surfaced over the weekend that the 23-year-old felt “suffocated” by life inside the Royal Family, according to sources.

Chelsy, who hails from the African nation of Zimbabwe, is said to have disliked the constant scrutiny the Royals were under and was also unhappy about the limited time she spent with Harry because of his military career.

Reports claim that Chelsy had been considering moving to London to be with her Prince, but is now expected to return to Africa after finishing her two-year post-graduate law degree at Leeds University.

“It has always been a volatile relationship and they have broken up before," London’s Daily Express quotes a source as saying. "But this time it really does seem to be the final split. She has got her own life to lead and I think she feels that Harry has never chosen — or perhaps hasn’t been able to choose — to make enough time for her because of what is expected of him."

According to the family friend, it wasn’t Harry’s reputation as a party boy that gave her second thoughts about their relationship. “I’ve just never thought she would become a princess. She finds all of that too suffocating. She’s realised it’s not for her.”

Royal Reason for Paris & Benji Split?

November 20th, 2008

Forget that Stavros Niarchos guy: As reports swirl that Paris Hilton and her main man Benji Madden have split after almost a year together, a new rumor has one royal reason for the breakup – Prince William.

Allegedly the heiress spent quite a bit of time with the British royal during filming for the second season of her reality show, I Wanna Be Paris Hilton’s Best Friend, according to Pop Tarts.

Sources point in the direction of the Australian New Year’s Eve party Paris and Benji were set to appear at together, a party Prince William was also invited to.The Good Charlotte rocker didn’t like the idea of the Brit showing up again near his lady.

"For security reasons, he won’t confirm his attendance until just before, but we’re told he is pretty keen to meet up with Paris," the source tells Pop Tars.

Paris’ all-too familiar addiction to the nightlife also may have played a part in the split.

Apparently even the love of your life can take a back seat to a distinguished pedigree and a table to dance on.

Prince Charles on Doctor Who?

October 13th, 2008

Who says royalty has to be stiff?

Tune in to the BBC in 2010, and you could see Prince Charles appearing on Doctor Who, a popular British TV show about a time-traveling adventurer.

While the show’s executive producer Russell T. Davies jokingly labeled the Prince a "miserable swine" after Clarence House turned down the TV invite, a spokeswoman for the house, the Prince’s official residence, says Chaz could still appear on the program.

"We did receive a request from Doctor Who’s producers," Retuers quotes the rep as saying. "It was not turned down by Prince Charles but by a Clarence House official. We receive hundreds of requests and he doesn’t see them all."

"It’s not uncommon for people to resubmit requests with different criteria and if it was resubmitted we would look at it again," she adds.

Keira Knightley Is ‘The Duchess’

September 17th, 2008

Keira Knightley is the star of The Duchess premiere held at Roy Thomson Hall during the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Brit actress, 23, is being selective with her interviews, but can’t resist the TV crew stationed behind me. Uh oh!

“How would a guy like me get a beautiful girl like you into a van for an interview?” the jokester says.

“You wouldn’t,” Keira smartly responds.

He chides, “For an interview?”

“No,” she says sternly. “God, I’d be terrified. You might drive off. I might never get let off. No, absolutely not!”

The jokester says, “She’s not just beautiful, she’s one of the smartest actresses out there.”

Keira cackles, “You couldn’t even get a stantion spot, that’s really impressive, isn’t it?”

The period piece about the perks and perils of an 18th century royal has drawn comparisons to the life of Princess Diana.

“I don’t know enough about Princess Diana to be able to comment on whether there’s a parallel or not,” she says. “I think we’re doing a fascinating movie in our own right.”

Ralph Fiennes says he’d dub KeiraDame Keira,” but director Saul Dibb is at a loss for a royal title. “I don’t think I would give her one,” he says. “I’ll leave that with you.”

The Duchess opens in limited release Friday. For more coverage of the Toronto International Film Festival, check back tomorrow.
