Erinn & Oliver: Baby Plans

November 17th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Date night might get a little bit harder for Rules of Engagement star Oliver Hudson, 32, and his actress wife, Erinn Bartlett, if he gets his wish for another baby!

"I’d go for it right now," says Hudson, who is already a dad to son Wilder, 14 months. However Erinn, 35, wants to wait. "I can’t force that one!" Oliver laughs.

In the meantime, Oliver is putting his free time to good use! Last week, the actor was spotted laughing and enjoying himself alongside little sis, Kate Hudson, at the L.A. Lakers vs. the L.A. Clippers game at the Staples Center.

Rules of Engagement: New Couple Alert!

November 15th, 2008

Rules of Engagement storyline scoop!

The show is introducing a new gay couple, played by Orlando Jones and The ClassSam Harris, when the CBS sitcom comes back for midseason.

My Los Angeles counterpart Carole Glines recently visited the Rules set and spoke Orlando about his hot six-episode role, which will have his character Brad befriend Patrick Warburton’s conservative character Jeff.

“We sort of meet at the gym and like each other and decide to go watch sports together. Then he makes the discovery that my significant other, Jackie, is not a woman but a man,” Orlando said.

“I think it sort of shocks him because I don’t have any of the stereotypical things that one would ordinarily expect when you say there’s going to be a gay character on a sitcom.

“It’s legitimately and subtly groundbreaking because I can’t think of another comedy that would take a character like this and not play it about his sexuality, no disrespect to Will and Grace at all.”

Orlando, who is straight, enjoys working with Sam, who is openly gay in real life.  On the show, it’s a case of opposites attracting as Sam’s character will be more overtly gay.  “I have a great time with him.  It’s hysterical because our [TV] pairing is very much like some friends of mine where one of the guys despises anything like that while his significant other is far more flamboyant.”

The Mad TV vet revealed Sam’s character will then befriend Jeff’s wife Audrey (Megyn Price) and then “it’s just about two couples who hang out together.”

Rules of Engagement returns to CBS in January.

David Spade: Girls Date Me Because I’m Normal

June 23rd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

David Spade has romanced some of Hollywood’s most beautiful ladies, including Lara Flynn Boyle, Teri Hatcher, Carmen Electra and Heather Locklear. On Labor Day, he’s expecting his first child with ex-girlfriend, March 2005 Playmate of the Month Jillian Grace. So what is the secret to his Rules of Engagement?

Normalcy.

"Everyone is so weird in L.A. that if you’re somewhat normal, it’s exotic," he tells OK!. "That has been the only reason some girls have dated me."

However, normalcy only flies in the surreal stratosphere of Hollywood. Away from the glitz and glam, David doesn’t think he’d be such a ladies’ man.

"That goes a long way in a crazy town like L.A. If I moved to the Midwest, it wouldn’t work," he says. "If you live in a place where everyone’s cuckoo, that stuff somehow pays off."

While he has dated a bevy of leading women, David has yet to tie the knot. He isn’t against it, though, but rather just waiting for marriage to "catch me off guard."

"I don’t want to do it unless I can get it right," he says. I take it seriously. Everyone has about a two-year run [at marriage], and I think that’s the max. If you asked me, ‘Could you be married for two years?’ I’d say, ‘Yeah, probably.’ That’s how most people in L.A. go into marriage. I don’t think anyone mentions to them that marriage is supposed to be your life, like, [for] 50 years."

Oliver Hudson: My Little Boy Is Just Like Me

September 20th, 2007

When OK! caught up with Rules of Engagement star Oliver Hudson at CBS’ Monday Night Premiere Party at West Hollywood’s AREA nightclub, the handsome actor, and big brother to Kate Hudson, opened up about the glories of being a father.

"He stays up all night," Oliver, who just turned 31, revealed to OK!, referring to newborn son Wilder Brooks, who was born on Aug. 23. But, according to the actor, who plays married dude Adam on the hit CBS show, the baby boy is just a chip off the old block. "When I was a baby, I didn’t want to go to sleep; I think he got that from me."

But all in all, Oliver tells OK! that it’s worth the hassle to him and his gorgeous wife of one year, actress Erinn Bartlett. "He’s a beautiful little thing.”

Heather Locklear and David Spade’s TV Hookup

August 28th, 2007

“Good friends” Heather Locklear and David Spade are officially a couple — on television.
The TV veteran has signed on to guest star in two episodes of the upcoming season of David’s CBS comedy Rules of Engagement, the network confirms.
Heather will play Audrey’s (Megyn Price) older sister, Barbara, who drops two bombshells on little sis during her visit — she’s splitting up with her husband and is getting back in the dating game with David’s perpetual singleton, Russell.
Long rumored last year to have been a pair, Heather and David downplayed the reports, claiming to just be close buddies. The actress has been dating fellow Melrose Place alum Jack Wagner since this spring.

Rules of Engagement returns for its second season on Monday, Sept. 24, at 9:30 p.m.
