OK! Exclusive: Trista Sutter’s Baby Shower!

America’s favorite Bachelorette, Trista Sutter is expecting a daughter with her husband of five years, Ryan Sutter, in April. The couple, who have a 19-month-old son, Max, were joined by family and friends at the Sonnenalp Resort of Vail in Colorado to celebrate their impending arrival.

OK!: Have you thought of any baby names?

 

Yes, we have one in mind, but we’re keeping it private until she arrives!

OK!: How has the pregnancy been?

I feel good. Now I’m just tired. I’m due in mid-April so I’m trying to take it easy. I want her to go as close to term as possible because Max was four weeks early.

OK!: Have you had any scares?

 

I was in the hospital last week for dehydration. I got a cold and wasn’t keeping up with my fluids. I was having Braxton Hicks contractions, which are like fake contractions. I’ve had them throughout the pregnancy, once an hour or twice a day, but this was every 5 minutes. They rehydrated me and sent me home the next day.  

 

OK!: Do you want more kids after this one?

No, I just feel lucky that I’ll have one of each. As long as she’s healthy, I’m going to have a permanent sterilization procedure done [a few months after the birth]. God forbid if she is unhealthy or we lose her, then I would try for another one.

OK!: Does Max know that he’s going to be an older brother?

He knows that my big belly is called “baby” and he knows what babies are. But, then again, last night he lifted up Ryan’s shirt and goes “baby” so I don’t think he quite gets it yet!

 

OK!: Do you think your new daughter will be a daddy’s girl?

Oh, absolutely. That was a big reason why I wanted a girl actually. Typically, it’s daddy’s girls and momma’s boys. I think it’s going to be so special to have a girl who will have her daddy wrapped around her little finger.

Trista & Ryan to Spend Anniversary on Love Boat

Of all the potential matches made on ABC’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette series, only one has taken –  and stuck.

 

Trista and Ryan Sutter met on The Bachelorette  in 2002 and tied the knot on ABC in December of 2003 in front of 26 million viewers.

 

Now, to celebrate their fifth anniversary together, Trista and Ryan are set to christen the newest addition to the Love Boat fleet of Princess Cruise ships cruisers, the Ruby Princess on Nov. 6 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

 

"We’re incredibly honored to be invited to be the godparents of Ruby Princess,” says Trista.  “It’s hard to believe that it’s been five years since we got married.  This is a wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and also to remind people about the importance of marking not only the key milestones in a relationship, but also making time to incorporate romance into our everyday lives."

 

 

 

 

 

 

Trista & Ryan’s Baby Turns 1!

It’s hard to believe that, given the odds of happy endings on ABC’s The Bachelor, former Bachelorette Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter are still together after tying the knot on TV in 2003. And now the happy couple chose to document another major milestone in their lives — the first birthday of their son, Max.

MomLogic.com threw "The First Baby of Reality TV" a giant Candy Land themed party, featuring candy tree invitations, lunch box party favors and personalized t-shirts.

Max’s guests were treated to a menu of sliders with snow cone french fries and a candy buffet made up of 200 pounds of candy!

Is another Bachelor couple biting the dust?

No, says Trista Sutter.

The Bachelor and Bachelorette alum is fighting back at rumors that her marriage with firefighter hubby Ryan is in trouble.

"There is no validity to the rumors on the internet insinuating that Ryan and I are divorcing," she tells MomLogic.com. "We are perfectly, 100% happy, and divorce has never been a topic of conversation and never will be."

The couple met on the ABC dating show in 2003 and tied the knot in an all-pink ceremony in December that was broadcasted for the world to see. After years of trying to conceive and a difficult labor, Trista gave birth to a son, Max, in July. Trista and Ryan remain the only successful Bachelor/ette coupling — and it sounds like they’re determined to make it last!

Ryan Sutter on Breastfeeding: I Just See Boobs

Boys may grow up, get married and have children, but some things will never change. Asked by MomLogic to compile a list of 10 Things You Don’t Know About Dads, Ryan Sutter, who welcomed son Max, with his Bachelorette wife Trista, in July, admits seeing breasts will never get old.

"Even when you’re about to breastfeed, we get turned on because we’re guys and we just see boobs," he names as his number 1 "thing to know."

Elsewhere on the list, the 33-year-old firefighter admits to other naughty deeds, such as noticing 25-year-olds who walk by ("That’s why we never leave home without our sunglasses!") and not "realizing" there’s a dirty diaper around.

"Sometimes we ‘don’t realize’ they have poopy diapers and let you discover it," he writes.

And don’t think all men have tough skin — dads, Ryan says, are sensitive as well. "And sometimes we feel fat."

But he feels nothing but love when chatting about family life — with his buddies.

"We don’t just talk about beer and sports with our friends," Ryan reveals. "We actually talk about being dads and how much we love our kids and wives."

Trista Sutter: “Sleeping Through the Night Isn’t Easy”

Four months into motherhood and Trista Sutter still can’t sleep a wink. The Bachelorette, who welcomed son Maxwell Alston, with husband Ryan Sutter, on July 26, tells MomLogic.com in a video series that she’s surprised how hard it would be to find some snooze time.

“Sleeping or lack thereof — trying to get him to sleep through the night is a pretty difficult task,” Trista says.

But don’t think the 35-year-old handbag designer is complaining since she has been longing for a baby since her days on The Bachelor. The road to becoming a mom, though long and hard as Trista had trouble conceiving, was diagnosed with gestational diabetes during pregnancy and suffered from HELLP syndrome and pre-eclampsia at 36 weeks, forcing a c-section delivery.

“He’s still on oxygen back home in Colorado… because he was born a little bit early,” she says. “He just needs a little extra help.”

But Max is still a healthy and growing boy. Ever the proud mom, Trista declares, “he’s in his second percentile for weight, fifth for height, and 25th for his head.”

As for her marriage, Trista admits it’s difficult getting their sex life back on track, partially due to the six-week wait from her c-section.

“You want to get back to your normal relationship with your husband and I think that in my relationship sex is a big part of that,” she says. “It’s definitely a work in progress and we’re working to get back to it, but it takes time.”
