Charlie Sheen Says Twins Are “Amazing”

March 20th, 2009

Charlie Sheen is speaking out for the first time about the birth of his twin sons, Bob and Max.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Two and a Half Men star calls his newborn fraternal twin sons, who were were born last weekend, "pretty amazing. Not a whole lot of sleep, but what parent does at this stage? There’s adrenaline, excitement, fear," he says. And even though they’re not identical, Charlie says he still struggles to tell them apart.

"I can’t tell! They’re not identical, but at this stage they’re similar enough," he admits.

Bob and Max Sheen—not exactly names you’d associate with Hollywood these days merely because they’re so….well, normal! But that’s what Charlie says he and wife Brooke Mueller specifically wanted.

"They’re very short and simple, easy to spell and remember," he says. "Bob is the same frontward and backward. I’m a fan of a short and simple name. Max was literally Nick until about a minute before he came out."

Charlie’s two daughters with ex-wife Denise Richards also have short, sweet names: Sam and Lola. The actor says the girls are thrilled to be big sisters, but that they have their own ideas about the boys’ names. "They’re insisting that they call them Bob and Duke," Sheen says.

VIDEO: Naomi Watts, Clive Owen Talk Parenting

February 10th, 2009

Naomi Watts gives props to her Thierry Mugler suit during The International premiere held Monday at NYC’s AMC Loews Lincoln Square.

“It’s a beautiful suit, it’s a well-cut suit, and it gives me a waistline, which I don’t have right now,” the Aussie actress, 40, who is mom to Sasha, 18 months, and Sam, two months, laughs. (Dad is Liev Schreiber, 41.)

Up next for Naomi? Hiring a trainer. “Breastfeeding is the first initial thing that makes you lose weight,” Naomi says, adding that shedding poundage post-pregnancy #2 is “about the same” as the first time. See Naomi’s Post-Pregnancy Cravings!

Little Sasha and Sam are lucky boys. Does she hope they follow in their actor parents’ footsteps and go into showbiz?

“I want them just to follow their dreams and be whatever pleases them,” she tells me.

Producer Charles Roven praises Naomi as a mom. “She started work six weeks after she gave birth to her first child,” he tells me. “The baby was always on the set. He was always in the trailer. The baby was cute. Now she’s got two!”

Always-game Clive Owen slides over to pump up the thriller, which is in theaters February 13. (Watch OK!’s exclusive red carpet video!*)

With Naomi and Sasha, and Clive and his brood  — which includes wife Sarah-Jane and daughters Hannah, 12, and Eve, 9 — it was a family affair on the movie set.

“My girls were around whenever they could be,” the British actor, 46, says. “We traveled a lot on this film, so it’s all around school.”

Now that Hannah is almost a teenager, is he ready for her to start dating?

“No, not at all,” Clive says with a smirk. “I don’t want to talk about it. I’m in denial.”

What professions does he hope they go into?

“Whatever makes them happy,” he tells me. “Whatever they want.”

The City’s Olivia Palermo and boyfriend Brad Leinhardt dash inside. They can’t miss it!

The International is in theaters February 13.

Denise Richards Wants Her Name Back

March 24th, 2008

Denise Richards is cutting the final ties to her ex hubby, Charlie Sheen.

On Friday, Richards filed papers in an L.A. court requesting that her legal name be changed from Sheen back to Richards. The actress took her married name when she wed Sheen in 2002.

In 2005, Denise filed for divorce but the two later reconciled. They finally parted ways a year later only to then engage in a bitter and often public custody battle over their two daughters, Sam, 4, and Lola, 2 1/2.

The fighting continued this year when Denise announced plans to include their children in a reality TV show featuring her life as a single mom. The one time Bond girl won her court case against Sheen, who filed a claim to keep the girls off of the show.

‘Spiderwick Chronicles’ Cast Cleans Up After Meltdown

February 11th, 2008

Mary-Louise Parker is a drama queen during the NYC premiere for The Spiderwick Chronicles. The dark-haired beauty, who looks much younger than her 43 years, throws up her hands before she completes the TV rounds. “Seriously, I hate doing this!” she says, stomping off into the rustling leaves adorning the carpet.

Luckily, not every star is in diva mode.

Andrew McCarthy, who plays the father in the screen adaptation of the best-selling kids’ series, tells me his 5-year-old son Sam can’t get enough of Pokemon. “I love everything about being a dad, except getting up early,” the divorced ‘80s heartthrob tells me.

Here’s Freddie Highmore, who is thrilled to see his August Rush pal Leon G. Thomas III came out to enjoy the flick. “It’s nice,” he tells me. “It’s good to have people come and see the film. I hope they like it.” Get this – Freddie plays twins!

Sarah Bolger, who plays his sister, relishes the girl talk she enjoyed with Mary-Louise. “She brought us into our trailer every lunchtime, where we’d sit there and we’d talk,” Sarah says. “She’d tell us crazy stories about her friends. She’s a great person. And we both share love for Starbucks. We used to do runs. She’d do it one day, and I’d do it the other. She got a chai latte and I got a mocha.”

And now, director Mark Waters pipes up.

“This is a movie that everybody can relate to on a more personal level than most fantasy movies,” he tells me. “We get to know a family that’s in crisis, and then they go through this amazing adventure. It makes for something that’s incredibly fun and exhilarating and makes for a great ride but it also has this emotional underpinning to it.”

The Spiderwick Chronicles is in theaters on February 14.
