Mario Lopez Loves Watching Sports Naked!
October 16th, 2008
We know Mario Lopez isn’t fond of wearing clothes, but now he’s taking it to the next level.
“I like to take a bath and watch TV there," the Extra host, 35, tells OK!, "My body is kind of achy sometimes from training.”
“I watch the news or ESPN for 20 or 30 minutes.”
If you say so, Mario — but you just be careful with all that water and electricity!
The Saved By The Bell star revealed that he loves to go au naturale earlier this year.
He confessed to E! Online that he turned down an offer from Playgirl, but not because he feels uncomfortable naked.
“It’s not something for me at the moment," said Mario, "But it’s ironic, because I’m, like, ‘nature boy.’ I’m always running around the house in underwear or nothing.”
Happy Birthday, Mario Lopez
October 10th, 2008
Mario Lopez celebrates the big 3-5 today.
Hopefully the birthday boy is in his location of choice — Las Vegas. “I like to gamble and go to the fights,” he tells me. “That’s always a good time for me. I’m a fights man. I like boxing, dinner, hanging out with friends, watching some fights and gambling.”
But he won’t be wearing his letterman jacket from his Saved By The Bell days. “My mom has it,” he admits.
Why do women find him irresistible? At first he blushes away the flattery, but then responds.
“I grew up with a lot of women – my sisters and my mom and I are real close. Maybe I’m patient? I can understand them a little bit. Maybe that comes across.”
Happy birthday, Mario.
Lunching With Mario Lopez
May 27th, 2008
Mario Lopez is ready to devour a chicken salad after his handprint ceremony held at Planet Hollywood Times Square. He’s pumped about his role in the Broadway version of A Chorus Line. He describes preparing for the role to be “like cramming for midterm exams.”
“I’ve always wanted to be on Broadway; I think every actor does,” the Saved By The Bell star tells me in a private room overlooking NYC. “I liked this play ‘cause they hadn’t had a celebrity do it yet. It’s an iconic play, it’s raw, it’s character-driven, a period piece. I like the role that I play – it’s very raw, tough guy, and you get to see his vulnerable side, and I get to sing and dance.”
What surprises him most is how much work it is to put on the musical eight times a week.
“I love the cast I’m working with,” the 34-year-old actor says. “I love the whole lifestyle. But it’s hard work. The show is very taxing, too, so it’s tough.”
Mario should have no problem keeping up considering his book Knockout Fitness is in stores now. What fitness tip can he share?
“Depending on your level and how serious you want to be, try to eat every three hours, keep it real small meals, make your first meal at seven in the morning and your last meal at seven at night,” he says. “Don’t eat past twelve hours. Keep it light. Keep the carbs before three o’clock. Try to break a sweat every day. You don’t have to do the same thing. Keep your muscles guessing.”
Mario likes to listen to hiphop or dance music when he’s boxing, but when he’s running, it’s all ‘80s tunes.
What did he eat for breakfast? “I made a shake with peanut butter, granola, strawberries and bananas,” he tells me.
And now, it’s time to dig in to that chicken salad for lunch.
Jessica’s Hazy Night
January 29th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff
Singer and actress Jessica Simpson and her Dallas Cowboy boyfriend Tony Romo appeared to have a good time last night at the Key Club in Hollywood — perhaps too good of a time!
The former Mrs. Nick Lachey and her footballer beau left the bar, where they had performed briefly onstage with mock rock band Metal Skool, and eyewitnesses tell OK! that Jess might have had a little too much to drink."She appeared to very intoxicated," says one witness. "Tony had to help her into the car."
"It appeared she was having problems walking upright," continues the source. "She was mumbling incoherently under her breath to people in the street. She almost tripped."
Last year, shortly after his team was eliminated from the NFL playoffs, a then-single Tony made a similar appearance on stage with Metal Skool, where he and Dennis Haskins (better known as Mr. Belding from Saved By the Bell) sang along with the band to Journey hit "Don’t Stop Believing."
Mario Lopez Makes a Busty Move
December 7th, 2007
Mario Lopez has taken his pageantry duties to an entirely new level — by handing out breast implants at a nightclub contest.
After hosting Miss Universe and Miss Teen USA this year, the 34-year-old will emcee Monday’s “Boob or Bust 2 — Go Big or Go Home!” contest at Las Vegas hot spot Jet Nightclub. There, mammary-challenged ladies will vie for $5,000 to be used for a breast augmentation.
So just how will the ladies compete?
“Each time a person with a table buys a bottle, they’ll receive $5,000 in ‘Boob Bucks,’” an insider tells OK!. “The girls then have to flirt or do whatever it takes to get the preprinted Boob Bucks from the men at their tables. The winner is the one who collects $3.5 million.”
And Mario, who captured girls’ hearts on Saved by the Bell and wowed fans with his nifty moves on Dancing With the Stars, was the perfect choice for the event, now in its second year. According to the insider, the muscle-bound heartthrob is “always up for a party” in Sin City.
Mario Lopez Clears the Air About Britney Baby Rumors
November 1st, 2007
Contrary to what you might have read in some wild reports from earlier in the week, Mario Lopez says he’s never fathered a
child with Britney Spears.
“There’s no way… no, it’s not true,” the Extra correspondent
says.
Rumors are flying that Britney, 25, was knocked up one more
time back in January with five guys as the possible father. They include ex-hubby Kevin
Federline, music producer J.R. Rotem, brief beau model Isaac Cohen, dancer Blake McGrath and Mario himself, but
the ex-Saved by the
star insists it’s all just salacious gossip.
“My name has been linked to a few headlines of late,” he
says. “This particular headline with Britney and the baby… it is laughable.”
Calling the pop star “the nicest person,” the 34-year-old actor/dancer, who
was first spotted hanging out with Brit last November in
mother of two is “really misunderstood” and laments the scandalous reports
around her.
“The young girl can’t say hi to someone without being linked
to them… poor girl that she has to deal with this.”
Where Are They Now? Lark Voorhies
August 29th, 2007
Before Carrie Bradshaw paraded onto our television screens with her Jimmy Choos and Manolos, one Lisa Marie Turtle was the fashion maven of the small-screen in the early 1990s.
The trendy Saved by the Bell clotheshorse went on to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology to follow her calling, and Lark Voorhies, her real-life alter ego, followed her own muse as well. It doesn’t include swatches and runways but, rather, a pen and paper. “I’ve been writing quite a bit,” Lark tells OK! of her years spent since she left the comedy in 1993. “It comes very naturally to me. It’s actually been a constant for me for about 10 years.”
Writing comes so natural to the 33-year-old that she penned her screenplay for The Hope for Pandora’s Box in just three days. A creative soul who would like a “full career,” Lark also executive-produced, starred in and directed the sci-fi movie. Reciprocity, another self-written full-length, is next on her directing and acting plate.
Still, Lark hasn’t forgotten about her TV roots, stating that she has a “few projects in the works.” As for the gig that made her a star, the single actress says her days at Bayside High will always have a place close to her heart. “Anything that we’ve done on location has been really exciting,” Lark says. “I look back on it fondly with satisfaction and a strong sense of success… good moments and good feelings.” But those feelings don’t extend to Lisa’s loud and funky wardrobe. Suffice it to say, there wasn’t much for the taking. “Well,” Lark laughs, “I have my own style, so…”
