Following reports that police are investigating NYC tattoo parlor East Side Ink because Rihanna decided she wanted to play tattoo artist last night, OK! spoke to one of the owners to get the details on how the whole thing happened.
The sexy singer had shown up around 8pm on Wednesday to visit her regular tattooist, who goes by the name of Bang Bang and is responsible for both recent gun tattoos and the “sssh” ink on her finger.
According to those at the high-end tattoo parlor, Rihanna was not planning on getting any new ink.
“We were all just hanging out, joking, laughing,” East Side Ink co-owner Yadira tells OK!. “Bang Bang decided that he wanted a tattoo from her.”
So he drew up a design — a simple umbrella with a swirly “R” under it — which was then transferred onto his lower leg. Rihanna, who had never tattooed anyone before, then went over the design with the needle.
Though scurrilous reports have described Michael Jackson in his last days as frail and withering, the King of Pop appears to be far from that image in a new video released on Thursday.
The company behind Michael’s scheduled 50-performance gig in London this summer has released a video of the singer’s final dress rehearsal, filmed very shortly before his death of an apparent cardiac arrest on June 25.
In the video (scroll down to watch it for yourself), the 50-year-old music legend appears to still be fleet on his feet as he performs with his troupe of musicians and backup dancers.
Watch the video and judge for yourself if this clip adds credibility to rumors of foul play surrounding Michael’s passing.

Taylor Dayne witnessed Michael Jackson at the height of his fame.
“I opened for him during his Bad tour in Europe,” the singer, 47, whose hits include I’ll Always Love You, With Every Beat of My Heart and Love Will Lead You Back, tells me. “It was 1988. I just had the #1 single throughout Europe — Tell It To My Heart — and Prove Your Love was climbing the charts in Europe and just breaking in the States. I played a month of dates at stadiums from Nice to Barcelona to Wertzberg, Germany. This was at the absolute height of Michael Mania.”
She says, “Michael was gracious to me. And extraordinary to watch as an entertainer, the mesmerizing effect his show and aura had on people. From his huge entourage and entire crew, his band who on backup was Sheryl Crow, to the dancers and production … it was a traveling circus and fun. I was the new sensation and [Michael’s manager] Frank DiLeo two years later began managing my career from meeting during that tour.” SEE TAYLOR’S ‘I’LL BE THERE’ TRIBUTE TO MICHAEL JACKSON:
Beyond music, Taylor followed in Michael’s footsteps in at least three ways: She performed for President Bush (him, H.W.; her W.) , delivered her children through a surrogate and has copped to cosmetic enhancements.
Despite all her success, she calls the birth of her twins Astaria and Levi, 7, her proudest moment.
“They’re pretty divine,” she says. “They’re young. They’re blessings. I went for it, and I did it as a single mom. They’re precocious, alive, fantastic, thoughtful and every day they’re bringing home something new and different. I’m very proud of this achievement, and I’m very proud they chose me and I’m their mom.”
She stays true to her 80s roots by remaining friends with Paula Abdul, and holds onto her mementos.
“I have a couple of costumes,” she says. “I have that skirt from the Tell It To My Heart video, which is still a closet piece from living on Eighth Street and Second Avenue, Love Spit Love and all that stuff. God, you look around and you see your gold records and your platinums. Those are always prized possessions. Those are reminders.” SEE MORE PHOTOS OF MICHAEL JACKSON: Michael lives on through his music and remarkable legacy.
Taylor Dayne’s latest album, Satisfied, featuring the hit Beautiful is in stores now, and she’s in the studio rerecording her greatest hits for release in 2010.
A London-based woman who calls herself Nona Jackson, and who has previously stated that she is not only married to, but has given birth to upwards of 15 children sired by Michael Jackson, filed a motion to be put in control of the King of Pop’s estate.
In a 93-page document filed Wednesday afternoon, Nona requested "that all my husband’s properties, monies and assets must be transferred to me immediately." She also made the bizarre demand that "my husband’s body must be returned to the coroner’s body or the mortuary immediately."
Suffice it to say, the judge did not rule on this filing today.
What Judge Mitchell Beckloff did do this afternoon was to grant Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson, limited control of her son’s property that is currently being held for an upcoming auction. She wants to get them back so that they don’t get sold or go missing because of greedy hands."
Katherine and her lawyers had come to court to request that she immediately be named executor of her son’s estate. But the judge postponed any decision to Monday’s already scheduled hearing, asking, "What’s the urgency? We meet in one-and-a-half business days for a full hearing… Why must I make such a big decision prior to that about who controls what?"
"On July 6, we will spend all the time we need together to deal with issues with the will," said Beckloff. "The world knows Michael Jackson is dead. There is no urgency for me to make a decision now."
So how exactly does a major studio pull the plug on a $58 million Brad Pitt flick only days before it begins shooting and after you’ve already sunk $10 million into pre-production? Well, according to Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal, quite easily.
In a first on-the-record interview about Moneyball, which was to have starred Pitt as legendary Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane, Pascal says everything was moving along just fine until the movie’s Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh delivered a script that had the studio up in arms.
"I’ve wanted to work with Steven forever, because he’s simply a great filmmaker," Pascal tells The L.A. Times. "But the draft he turned in wasn’t at all what we’d signed up for. He wanted to make a dramatic reenactment of events with real people playing themselves. I’d still work with Steven in a minute, but in terms of this project, he wanted to do the film in a different way than we did."
According to Pascal, Soderbergh had gone so hog-wild with changes to the original script by screenwriter Steve Zaillian — he reportedly removed or rewrote all scenes that did not happen in real life — they had no other choice but to shelve the picture until they either found a new director, which would also likely mean the loss of Pitt.
"Steven wanted to tell the story through these interviews with the real people, as they commented on Beane," Pascal explains. "But there are lots of ways to tell a true story. We were just more comfortable with what we thought was a wonderful draft from Steve Zaillian."
Sony offered Soderbergh the opportunity to take the film to another studio with his script, but so far no fish are biting on that line. So for now, Moneyball remains at Sony.
"We love this movie, we always have and we still want to make it," says Pascal. "It’s a completely innovative way to tell a baseball story. It’s about wanting to believe in magic, which is what baseball is all about."
