OK! Exclusive: Mel B & Hubby Renew Vows

November 10th, 2008

When Spice Girl Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown and husband Stephen Belafonte made the decision to be wed in a secret Las Vegas ceremony in June 2007, it meant that several of their close friends and family weren’t on hand for the blessed event.

So now the couple is making up for it — They renewed their wedding vows over the weekend and flew their closest family and friends to Hurghada, Egypt, for the ceremony.

Mel and Stephen reaffirmed their commitment to each other at the exclusive Jaz Makadi Golf Hotel in Madinat Makadi, in front of guests including Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, and UK TV personalities Denise Van Outen and Fearne Cotton.

Missing from the ceremony were Mel’s fellow Spice Girls — Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and pregnant Melanie C — who she explains weren’t invited to the ceremony in order to keep it a low-key event.

"We decided to do it for the kids and we only want it to be a real intimate affair with the 10 closest people in our lives," she explained.

The former Spice Girls star - who has a luxury home in Egypt - will also host a lavish wedding blessing party today, treating guests to a picturesque Red Sea cruise.

Mel and Stephen were seen soaking up the sun shortly before their renewal ceremony yesterday.

The loved-up pair sipped champagne and kissed as Mel showed off her fantastic figure in a skimpy white bikini.

Scary and Posh Spice: Friends Forever!

September 18th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Take those rumors that Spice Girls Scary and Posh are not on speaking terms and slam them to the left – friendship is forever!

Reports in British newspapers that the two Spices don’t speak are false, says
Melanie Brown. In fact, Mel B., 33, says that she and Victoria Beckham, 34, are so tight that their kids hang out.

“My daughter went to Romeo’s birthday party last week. They all play together. It’s really nice,” Mel told OK! in the American Express Skybox at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

“The party was lots of fun" she adds. "They saw a movie and then had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. [My daughter] loved it.”

Also getting rave reviews: Mrs. Beckham’s new pixie cut.

“I think it’s really nice,” says Mel – but she’s no wannabe. When asked if she would ever get the controversial cut, Eddie Murphy’s ex told OK!, “Not right now.”

OK! Exclusive: Mel B. & Hubby to Remarry!

November 15th, 2007

When OK! caught up with Stephen Belafonte before last night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, the music producer hubby of Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown, a simple question led to a pretty major revelation. Considering his wife of almost six months — the pair was secretly wed June 6 in Las Vegas — has made it to the semifinals of Dancing With the Stars, OK! inquired whether Stephen had plans on brushing up on his steps to keep up with his Spice Wife, he said “when we have our big official, formal wedding I may surprise some people.”

So… is the couple making plans to finally have that dream wedding, complete with flower girls, bridesmaids and a church? Well, since Stephen quickly went quiet when his slip of the tongue was brought to his attention, OK! is still investigating. Likely, any huge ceremony would have to wait several months as the reunited Spice Girls are set to head out on their first tour in early December.

Speaking of the Spice Girls, they were the star attraction at last night’s show, wowing the audience as they took to the stage for the first time in a decade. Dressed in 1940s military inspired outfits, the glam gals and their khaki clad troupe of male dancers performed in front of the word “SPICE” spelled out in mammoth, glittering letters as they sang their one-time chart-topper “Stop.” As they sang, Heroes star Hayden Panettiere, who told OK! she’s already got tickets for their upcoming tour, sang along from her seat, while Jeremy Piven rocked in appreciation. At the end of their first performance, the Spices huddled together at the end of the runway and hugged each other enthusiastically. They later returned for a performance of their latest song “Headlines,” ditching complicated dance routines, opting to pose in decadent gowns.

So is this what can be expected from their tour? “We’ve got great dances,” Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm told OK!, “and loads of energy and some really crazy costumes.”

Check their performance out for yourself when CBS airs the show on Dec. 4.

DWTS Shocker! Sabrina Eliminated!

October 31st, 2007 / Author: cwillett

In perhaps the most shocking twist in the history of Dancing With the Stars, Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan was high-kicked off the hit show Tuesday night!

After apparently too few viewers voted for the assumed front-runner, Sabrina’s shocked fellow contestants surrounded the petite singer and partner Mark Ballas backstage to offer hugs and condolences.

“It’s sad to go,” Sabrina told OK! following the Oct. 30 show. “We’re not ready to go. We had so many ideas. I have such amazing fans — I’m assuming they called in and it just wasn’t enough this week.”

The perpetually upbeat performer also plans to throw an
elimination bash with her fellow contestants. “I’m going to make more memories
with them tonight, because I’m going out. This Cheetah is on the prowl
tonight!”

Sabrina, who has been romantically linked to dance partner, hinted that the elimination might bring them even closer. “I’m happy Mark and I now get to just be friends, to know each other and not have the stress of the show.”

Next up for the young cutie, who tells OK! she really wants a woman to win this season, is a Cheetah Girls concert tour and a movie, The
Cheetah Girls Go to Bollywood
, set to start filming in India in
January. But what is she most looking forward to after six weeks of competition? “A massage!” Sabrina laughed to OK!.

Meanwhile, Sabrina’s stunned DWTS co-stars weighed in. “I think they need to recount the votes,” declared Mel B., while Mel’s dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, tells OK!, “This is the most shocking elimination show of all the seasons.”

While shock swirled through the ballroom after the show, there was additional drama, as a bad case of food poisoning landed Jane Seymour in the hospital and prevented her from attending the elimination show. Her partner Tony Dovolani told OK! “She’s still in the hospital just to be safe, just to check herself. I’ve spoken to her. She’s feeling great. I have no idea [what she ate].”

Judging Scandal on Dancing With the Stars?

October 30th, 2007 / Author: cwillett

Is age-ism rampant on the Dancing With the Stars judging panel? Well, contestant Marie Osmond tells OK! that the show’s older women might be getting the shaft on the hit ABC show.

“I think they’re trying to get the older chicks off the show, and I say shame on them,” Marie said to OK! after she and fellow over-50 contestant Jane Seymour earned the lowest scores of the night on Monday night. “I mean, come on — compare us to a 20-year-old! We’re doing good! That’s why you appreciate the viewers and their voting.”

Just one week after her shocking on-air collapse, Marie earned just 23 points for her paso doble. Meanwhile, Jane got 22, the lowest score of the night, for her performance of the jive.

While Jane has never cited age discrimination as her problem on the show, she is perplexed about the judging. And her devoted husband, James Keach, who sits in the audience every night, can’t believe what he is seeing. “Her dance deserved a much better score than it got,” James told OK!. “If I gave you my true opinion of the other dancers, I wouldn’t be a popular guy here tonight. I’m very honest.”

Referring to her competitors, All My Children hunk Cameron Mathison and Marie Osmond, James said, “I’m not voting because I watch a soap opera; I’m not voting because I watch the Donny and Marie Show; I’m obviously a little prejudiced towards my wife, but you know what? For the amount of work that she’s done, the ability that she’s given to this and the class that she brings to it, I don’t think there’s any comparison.”

Jane added that she has less dance experience than some of the other competitors. “There are some people here who dance for a living,” she said, in an apparent reference to limber Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan and Spice Girl Mel B., who both are getting ready for concert tours.
