Christina Ricci: From Superstar to Super-Spy?

April 21st, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Over the years, pint-sized actress Christina Ricci has become more associated with smaller-budget indie films like Pumpkin, Black Snake Moan and the upcoming Penelope, but now she reveals to OK! that her dream role is a far cry from the quirky films she made her name with.

"I’ve always wanted to play a spy," she confessed at the L.A. premiere for Speed Racer. "Like in the Bourne movies."

And it’s just that thrill-seeking desire that drove the 28-year-old star to take on the role of Trixie in the live-action version of the classic cartoon. "Trixie is my kind of girl," she tells OK!. "She’s always up for adventure and does everything the boys do."

Of course it didn’t hurt that Christina likes Trixie’s fashion sense. "She does kung fu and flies a helicopter but she still has a special super cute ensemble for each activity," explains Christina. "She’s a tomboy and a girly girl at the same time which made her really fun. I loved my outfits!"

Matthew Fox: I’m a Doll!

March 22nd, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Matthew Fox isn’t lying when he says he’s a doll. The actor modeled for the Racer X action figure from his upcoming Speed Racer flick.

Racer X is a very, very cool dude,” the actor, 41, says. “He’s got a very cool outfit. As far as action figures go, I’d have to say it’s pretty good. They scanned it digitally really and it came out well.”

Matthew says his 6-year-old son Byron can’t wait for the flick to hit theaters.

“He asks me every single day when the movie’s coming out. He’s seen the trailer of the movie. He’s very excited.”

The action figure is a slice of fame his family doesn’t often experience. He has been married to wife Margherita for 17 years, and is also dad to their daughter Kyle, 9.

“We’re raising our kids in Hawaii. For me and for my wife, it’s important that we keep those two worlds as separate as possible. I do the work, I go on a movie set somewhere, and there’s a short period of time where I’m sort of in the spotlight promoting the film. My kids are never really aware that that’s going on in any way.”

Matthew Fox: No Parenting Advice for McConaughey

February 21st, 2008 / Author: cwillett

Having been a father for 10 years, one might assume Matthew Fox would have some great words of wisdom for father-to-be and his We Are Marshall co-star Matthew McConaughey, but he begs to differ.

"That’s a tough one," Matthew tells OK! at the Vantage Point premiere. "Being a father is an individual experience and I wouldn’t really feel qualified to give anyone advice other than just trying to do the very, very best job you possibly can."

Matthew and his wife Margherita Ronchi have two children together, daughter Kyle, 10 and son Byron, 7. Unlike some other celebrity clans, the family is rarely snapped together — a benefit of living in Hawaii, where the 41-year-old actor has been calling home since Lost started in 2004.

"We are raising our kids in Hawaii," he says. "For me and for my wife, it’s important that we keep those two worlds as separate as possible. I do the work, I go on a movie set somewhere, and there’s a short period of time where I’m sort of in the spotlight promoting the film. My kids are never really aware that that’s going on in any way."

They are aware of his role in the upcoming Speed Racer big-screen adaptation. The studio is planning on rolling out dolls as part of promotion for the film, which hits theaters May 9, and Byron is pumped about dad’s Racer X figure.

"I actually have a little one that someone snuck me once because they’re not out yet," he says. "I went over to the Mattel Toy Show recently and saw all the Speed Racer stuff. They gave me a little racer that they came up with for my boy. He’s going to be very excited. He asks me every single day when the movie’s coming out. He can’t wait. He’s seen the trailer of the movie. He’s very excited. They both are."
