Pamela Anderson’s Wild Night

December 8th, 2008

In the latest edition of What in the World is She Thinking? Pamela Anderson was spotted out and about in Miami this weekend, partying hard and locking lips with Stephen Dorff (remember him—of Blade "fame"?).

According to an eyewitness, Pam and Stephen were "making out" in the lobby of the Fontainebleau on Saturday night, before heading to a party to celebrate the Baywatch babe’s Ocean Drive cover.

"She went to Blade for dinner, where she flashed her boobs," an insider tells OK!, before heading up to pose on the red carpet with David LaChapelle and PETA head Dan Mathews at LIV.

The partying continued until the wee hours, with Pam drinking Lucid Absinthe until 4am and running around South Beach with Stephen, including a stop at nightclub Mokai. Her night on the town didn’t end until Sunday morning… with a new man on her arm!

"She walked back into the Fontainebleau at 11am the next morning with a young sexy guy, wearing her clothes from the night before," the source tells OK!.

Val Kilmer, Stephen Dorff Talk ‘Felon’

July 19th, 2008

Val Kilmer has a schtick when he walks into the room at NYC’s The Regency Hotel. “Do you know what is practical about white linen? Nothing! You can get a stain on it just thinking about it. It’s staining right now to spite me.”

He namedrops about John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Marlon Brando and more before he segues into his movie Felon, which is in theaters now.

Stephen Dorff
also stars in the prison drama that tells the story of what happens when a common man is forced to commit a crime to keep his family out of harm’s way.

Val can relate. The 59-year-old father of two found himself in the midst of a crisis when his daughter, 16, called him on the way into the movie theater with his 13-year-old son.

“I had just dropped her off 15 minutes ago, and one of the girls she goes to school with, they were out of school, and they wouldn’t let in the club because she was too high,” he tells me. “Then she couldn’t stand up. Then she was too high to sit down. Then she passed out, so my daughter couldn’t get the girls that she came with to come back out. They were too into the band. So she didn’t know what she was on, called 911, ambulance arrives – she’s going back and forth on calls with me, and I’m trying to get numbers of parents. The girl flatlined in the ambulance, and they zapped her back to life because of my daughter, and probably at least saved her from whatever percentage of brain damage and maybe saved her life.”

Val continues, “I was still upset with her about a couple of the procedures, like she didn’t stay on the phone because the ambulance was arriving, and she decided to click so I’m dialing back her friends number, I’m dialing back the club, trying to get someone on the phone to find out. But she had decided she needed both arms to get the girl upright. It’s very dramatic. It was down to seconds.”

When told it’s great she felt comfortable enough to call, Val gets animated.

“Thank you for saying so. She’s in France right now and God knows what she’s doing. If you can hear me, call me. You’re in the doghouse.”

Stephen Dorff is up next. He certainly wouldn’t want to find himself on the wrong side of the law. The actor reportedly got into a war of words recently with Jeremy Piven while waiting in line for the bathroom at a nightclub.

“I’ve known that guy for years,” Stephen says. “He was in a couple of my movies. We got into a verbal thing one night, and it became the biggest story I’ve ever seen, but I don’t know why because frankly it’s kind of boring. I’ve gotten in much more things that nobody ever knew about, which I’m glad about, thank God.”

Well, nobody became a Felon, a reporter yuks.

“Exactly. I would’ve crushed him anyway. But I only fight in the movies. I’m a lover not a fighter, that’s what my mom always told me.”

Stephen continues, “Any bar brawl I’ve had is nothing compared to what these guys are going through. I hope I’m never in that position to have to make the wrong decision.”

Felon is in theaters now.

My Last Night in Toronto

September 10th, 2007

Wow, today’s been a whirlwind. I left an event in Toronto this morning at 2:30am to go back to the hotel, work a bit and pack before my car arrived at 4am to take me to the airport. I transcribed an interview tape (and finished reading Harry Potter) on the plane, landed in NYC at 7:45am and driver waiting (thank god for small favors), got in the car, read the New York Post (which I sorely missed while away) and headed to the office to close pages – because we go to print every Monday.

It’s now nearly 8pm and I’m surfing through the phases of over-tiredness that lead to delirium, kind of like an experiment in sleep deprivation- but nothing that I haven’t done to myself before, or that can’t be remedied before I interview Mrs. Tori Spelling in about 15 hours.

Toronto was a successful trip. I got to ask George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Sean Penn questions, got to explore a new city (well, the ten blocks that separated my hotel from the Four Seasons), and hang out with some cool people – though, in keeping with every film festival I have ever attended, again, despite my best intentions, I didn’t see a single film! Who has time?

Last night was fun. After a brief interview with Larry King–where his wife told me in graphic detail how she and Larry recently celebrated their ten-year wedding anniversary- from the rose petals and candles to the trench coat and lingerie- I went to a cocktail party at the Variety/AMC Film Lounge for Stephen Dorff’s film “The Passages” that he was premiering at the festival.

I’d honestly never thought a whole lot about Stephen Dorff one way or another. I try not to judge, but gotta admit my expectations weren’t very high. I’m friendly with Jeremy Piven and remember the night at Bungalow 8 when the two of them had a confrontation and I just never took him as a warm, fuzzy kind of guy.

I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised and he was actually quite cool – and lookin’ good. His dad Steve was with him, also a cool guy who I’ve since learned is an emmy-nominated composer. Steve lives in LA where he said he talks to Stephen every day and they usually meet for dinner once a week. I come from a close family whose parents have been married 30+ years and am such a daddy’s girl who speaks to my dad more or less every day too, so I thought this was definitely positive points towards his character.

Stephen’s been in an upswing work-wise. He’s previously appeared in more than 30 music videos, including Britney Spears 2004 single “Everytime,” and said in a few days he too has to shave all his hair off for a film role based on a true story of a guy who gets sentenced to a tough prison because of a self-defense murder and has to do it as a measure to fit in. He seemed really passionate about the project.

But, for anyone who thinks about dating Dorff, be forewarned, you’ve got a couple of girls to get through first. While gushing about his two half sisters, eight and ten, he said, “But when I have girls come over to the house, they’ll take the girl upstairs and say, ‘We think you should know that he has lots of girlfriends.’ I tell them that I don’t, but they still tell the girls that I do.” Isn’t it usually the other way around? The older brother protective over the younger sister and warning the guys that try to date them? I guess these girls have quite a few years before theire now 34-year-old big bro has to prepare to assume that role.

Never a Dull Moment

September 9th, 2007

It’s 10pm and I just got back to my hotel - to blog, pack, transcribe a tape from Sean Penn’s press conference today for “Into the Wild,” - and then go to a Motorola film festival party that starts at midnight, grab my bags and leave for the airport at 4am to go through customs and make a 6:15am flight back to New York - where I’ll get in just in time to go straight to the office to write about all the festivities of the week - VMAs, Fashion Week and the Toronto Film Festival - for the issue that goes to print tomorrow and hits stands for your reading pleasure on Thursday. After work I want to get to Marc Jacobs runway show. Lauren Conrad from the Hills is walking in the show. I think she’s an odd choice for Marc who’s previous muses have included Sophia Coppola and Wynona Ryder but maybe I’ll understand more after the show. But probably not.Ok, for now I’ve gotta get packing and primping. I only have one party left to meet a cute boy - and get good scoop for you guys! When I’m back in NYC I’ll get you up to speed on some of the stuff Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Sean Penn had to say, the hot guy I never heard of before but is in Stuart Townsend’s new movie (and has been in a Britney Spears video), my chat with Larry King and my last few hours hanging out with the very cute Stephen Dorff -who has also appeared in a Britney Spears video! Oh, to have known vintage Britney. I missed Britney’s opening performance on MTV’s VMAs tonight but by the influx of text messages I got bashing her performance, most unfortunately, I’d say it’s looking more and more like memories of Britney are all that we’re going to have to remember of her career that was.
