UK Paper: Duchovny Story “Inaccurate”

November 17th, 2008

British newspaper Daily Mail is apologizing for a story it ran claiming David Duchovny had an affair with a tennis instructor.

In what it now calls an "inaccurate" article about the 48-year-old X-Files star, the paper says:

"On October 19, an article about actor David Duchovny may have suggested he had an amorous relationship with a tennis coach, Edit Pakay," the paper says. "We now accept this is inaccurate and Ms. Pakay and Mr. Duchovny are only friends who used to play tennis occasionally. Their relationship went no further and was not a factor in Mr. and Mrs. Duchovny’s separation. We apologize to Ms. Pakay, Mr. Duchovny and to Mr. Duchovny’s family."

Last month, Duchovny filed a suit against the Daily Mail, seeking $1 million in damages on the grounds of defamation and invasion of privacy.  The actor, who was separated from his wife of 11 years, Tea Leoni, for several months, denied that an affair was the reason for the split. The lawsuit called the paper’s story "false," saying, "it never happened."

Duchovny’s Devious Dining Habits

October 28th, 2008

Atlanta isn’t exactly Hollywood when it comes to a paparazzi haven. But when David Duchovny walked into One Midtown Kitchen (arguably one of Atlanta’s hottest restaurants) on Oct. 27, witnesses say he acted so paranoid you would have thought he was at L.A.’s trendy Ivy.

An eyewitness tells OK! that the Californicaton star made some pretty odd demands from the restaurant staff, asking to be put at a table where no one could "walk by him."  The actor, 48, who recently split from his wife of 11 years, Tea Leoni, also had his bodyguard limit the number of staff serving him, ultimately requesting that only one person handle the actor’s table.

The source tells OK! that Duchovny and his party (one gentleman and two ladies) dined on smoked salmon croquettes, calamari and duck. For drinks, Duchovny stuck to Pinot Grigio.

We suppose the paranoia is to be expected. After all, Duchovny not only just completed a very public rehab stint for a sex addiction, but just separated from his wife and is also suing a British tabloid for a story claiming the actress left him for infidelity.

Ahh, the life of an actor!
