Chyler Leigh Naming Baby “Aniston”?

February 5th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Sounds like someone’s watched one too many episodes of FriendsGrey’s Anatomy star Chyler Leigh, who has two children with Nathan West, tells The Insider that their baby girl will be dubbed "Aniston" when she arrives in May.

Okay, Chyler, come May, we expect you to stick to your baby-naming intentions, joke or no joke!

Despite her light-hearted attitude, Chyler has had a tough life, and isn’t shy opening up about her story. By 17 she was addicted to any drug she could get her hands on, but today marks her seventh year sober.

"It was a combination of everything," she says. "It was a pupu platter of drugs, whatever we could do. I just hit that point of searching for something, anything that would make everything go away and make me numb. It was a deadly combination."

For Aniston’s sake, we’re glad she’s got her life back on track.

Maksim and Karina’s ‘Perfect, Disastrous’ Proposal

January 15th, 2009

Those big moments in life never goes as smoothly as they do in the movies — even when you’re a gorgeous TV star.

In their first interview together since they got engaged in Las Vegas on New Years Eve, Maksim Chmerkovskiy says his proposal to fellow Dancing With The Stars dancer, Karina Smirnoff, was nearly a disaster!

"It was the most perfect proposal ever, yet the most disastrous proposal ever," Karina told The Insider.

The problem, says Maksim, was that he’d done the ground work, but when the time came, he blurted out the wrong thing.

"I started with, ‘I’ve been with a lot of women,’" he admitted. Ouch!

"My big advice to guys out there is to write it down and practice your speech!," he said.

But in the end, he must have done something right.

"He gave me a beautiful, limited edition Louis Vuitton bag," gushed Karina.

"The box with the ring was inside and I thought it was the receipt or something! When I opened the box, I freaked out and closed it again.

"I re-opened the box and he still wasn’t saying anything! He tried to form sentences but nothing would come out. We both stood there staring at the ring."

As for wedding details, the couple say they haven’t begun planning, but hope to marry this year.

Ryan received deferred entry of judgment, which means that he must complete certain requirements as ordered by a judge over the next 19 months. His next court date will be July 10 in Malibu, Calif.

Redmond, who has a troubled history with drugs and has been in rehab before, will face up to his charges on Feb. 20 for arraignment and plea.

Gary Coleman Sued

September 17th, 2008

It seems like the scandals just keep coming Gary Coleman’s way – after allegedly backing into a photo-seeking fan with his truck earlier this month, the Diff’rent Strokes actor is now being sued by the man, Colt Rushton.

The Insider obtained a copy of the lawsuit, to be filed later today, and also sat down with Rushton to discuss the incident. Rushton says he snapped a couple pictures of Gary and his wife Shannon Price at a bowling alley in Utah.

Then, Rushton says, a member of Gary’s party, Paul Rohbock, approached him and offered $20 for each picture. Rohbock then said that Rushton couldn’t take pictures without selling them.

As he exited the bowling alley, Rushton claims that he saw Gary’s car and took another photo, after which was "attacked, without warning, from behind by Price and/or Rohbock, who clawed his arm and grabbed his cell phone away from him."

He also claims that Gary himself hit him as well. Rushton says he offered to delete the photos, but Shannon refused to give his phone back, so he approaced the driver’s front fender. He says Coleman then "slammed the truck into reverse, swerved and swung the front of the truck into him, hitting him, throwing him to the ground and possibly running him over."??

Tune in to The Insider tonight for their exclusive one-on-one interview with Colt Rushton about the lawsuit.

Pat O’Brien Enters Rehab

February 8th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Reps for TV’s The Insider confirm to OK! that the show’s host Pat O’Brien has entered a rehab facility for an unspecified treatment.

According to a statement from the show, "O’Brien and his doctors felt this is the best course for maintaining his sobriety." The show says they have no plans to make any further statements about the situation at this time.

Pat, who will turn 50 on Valentine’s Day, made headlines in March 2005 when he entered rehab for alcohol and substance following the release of private, lewd voicemails he’d left for a female acquaintance were made public.

Following that stint in rehab, O’Brien took to the airwaves of The Dr. Phil Show to talk about his struggles with alcohol. He returned to The Insider in May 2005.

Justin Predicted to Win Big at VMAs

September 7th, 2007 / Author: cwillett

The Video Music Awards are two days away and what better way to prepare for the Sin City event than to make predictions? OK! has not only put our heads together to prophesize the future, but we have corralled The Insider’s Victoria Recaño, as well, to get her input on the major categories. And it seems like we think alike for the most part. Here are our predictions:

Video of the Year Nominees

  • Beyonce "Irreplaceable"
  • Justice "D.A.N.C.E."
  • Rihanna feat. Jay-Z "Umbrella"
  • Justin Timberlake "What Goes Around… Comes Around"
  • Kanye West "Stronger"
  • Amy Winehouse "Rehab"

OK! says: This is a tough one between the undisputed stars of the summer, Justin and Rihanna. But we’re giving the slight edge to JT for his epic mini-movie (oxymoron?) featuring the one and only Scarlett Johansson.

Victoria says: "Rihanna or Justin Timberlake… I think he’s got a better chance."

Male Artist of the Year Nominees

  • Akon
  • Robin Thicke
  • T.I.
  • Justin Timberlake
  • Kanye West

OK! says: Justin. Need we explain?

Victoria says: Keep an eye out for an upset. “I’d like to see Robin Thicke. I think he’s the wild card.”

Female Artist of the Year Nominees

  • Beyonce
  • Fergie
  • Nelly Furtado
  • Rihanna
  • Amy Winehouse

OK! says: It’s another close one, this time between Rihanna and the beleaguered Amy Winehouse, but Rihanna will take it. Amy can get her Moon Man in Best New Artist.

Victoria says: "Rihanna. Just think it’s her year."

Best Group Nominees

  • Fall Out Boy
  • Gym Class Heroes
  • Linkin Park
  • Maroon 5
  • White Stripes

OK! says: Overwhelming favorite Fall Out Boy will win their third Moon Man in as many years. They’ve got the fans and Ashlee Simpson on their side.

Victoria says: "Maroon 5. They’ve got so many different types of sounds, you don’t realize when you hear a song, they are the ones singing it."

Best New Artist Nominees

  • Lily Allen
  • Gym Class Heroes
  • Peter Bjorn and John
  • Carrie Underwood
  • Amy Winehouse

OK! says: Amy, no doubt. No one else has equaled the amount of buzz and attention she’s received this year. Now the question is, "Will she show up?"

Victoria says: It’s Amy all the way! "To be totally blunt with you, everywhere I go, everyone’s talking about Amy Winehouse. I did an interview on a radio station, and they interviewed her, and they were staying she’s the most interesting, off-the-wall character. And she’s incredibly talented."

Other predictions:

  • Most Earth-shattering Collaboration: Justin Timberlake feat. Timbaland "SexyBack"
  • Quadruple Threat of the Year: Justin Timberlake
  • Monster Single of the Year: Rihanna feat. Jay-Z "Umbrella"
  • Best Director: Justin Timberlake "What Goes Around… Comes Around" (Dir. Samuel Bayer)
  • Best Editing in a Video: Beyonce and Shakira "Beautiful Liar" (Ed. Jarrett Figl)
  • Best Choreography in a Video: Beyonce and Shakira "Beautiful Liar" (Chor. Frank Gatson)

What else to expect from the ceremony?

  • Of course, the elephant in the room — Britney Spears‘ comeback performance. Whether she brings the house down or lip-synchs her booty off, you know what everyone will be talking about it the next day.
  • Speaking of Britney — will she and Justin cross paths?
  • The crazy setup. The show is moving to Las Vegas for the first time and will be broadcast from a handful of different venues in the Palms Casino Resort. Let’s see how the director and camera crew handle this production.
  • Christina Aguilera or, more specifically, her stomach. The pop tart has still yet to speak out about her pregnancy, but boobs and bump say a lot.
  • The surprises! Duh. Whether it’s Sting joining Diddy Puff Daddy on stage 10 years ago to perform “I’ll Be Missing You” or that infamous 2003 lip-lock between Madonna, Britney and Christina, there are just some things we can’t prepare for.

The Video Music Awards airs live on MTV at 9 p.m. on Sunday. Make sure to check out okmagazine.com for live news and updates!
