Romany Malco: “Getting Justin Out of the Speedo Was Hard!”

June 19th, 2008

The Love Guru’s Romany Malco is dishing the goods on his co-star Justin Timberlake. The singer, who famously dons a Speedo in the film, recently said he enjoyed putting his tiny swimsuit on, a sentiment Malco is happy to confirm.

"I think getting Justin out of the Speedo was hard," Malco told OK!. "I think he liked that feeling."

Malco, who starred in the first three seasons of the Showtime hit series Weeds, says he was pleased with Monday’s rating-topping season 4 premiere.

"Mary-Louise Parker is ridiculously entertaining," he says. "With the cameras rolling or off, if all else fails they can make it into a reality show, and I guarantee higher ratings."

Mike Meyers Gets Personal

June 18th, 2008

Mike Meyers wants to publically apologize to all high-heel wearing women everywhere.

"To all the gals I want to say, ‘How do you do it?’", the actor says.  "I did a comedy routine last night with Heidi Klum where I put on her eight inch heels and my calves are killing me!  She had these things on and she said, ‘Ow, my feet hurt,’ and I said, ‘Oh they can’t hurt that much.’ They hurt that much."

Meyers is hot on the trail of promoting his new film The Love Guru, which c0-stars Jessica Alba, Vern Troyer and Justin Timberlake whose role as Jacques Grande is unforgettable–to say the least.

"I’m man enough to admit that I have a man crush," Meyers says of Timberlake.  "But I put it to the table, would you not have a man crush on Justin Timberlake? He’s got zero percent body fat, he is the nicest dude you’ll ever meet, he does his homework.  I send him the script and he gave me back five pages of notes–all of which made it better than what was written."

Not that he’s playing favorites.  The master mind behind the characters Austin Powers, Wayne’s World and Dr. Evil (to name a few) also wants to make it clear he’s a big fan of his female co-star in the film.

"She [Jessica Alba] is unbelievably talented, a great comedian, down-to-earth, lovely, lovely, lovely," he says.  "Honestly, when she would come on set, people would audibly gasp at how beautiful she is.  She would come on set ‘Hey everybody,’ and it would be, ‘Ahhh!’"

Meyers continues, "There’s a great parable…If you bring the enthusiasm and hire very, very smart people, you can make a beautiful soup.  That’s what working with people like Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba and Vern Troyer brings."

Mike Myers Credits Oprah for Love Guru

June 18th, 2008

Behind every great man is a great woman, so who is behind Mike MyersLove Guru, Maurice Pitka?

None other than Oprah Winfrey herself.

"In 1991, my father passed away — it was around that time that I saw Deepak Chopra on Oprah [laughs] and I became very interested in philosophy; I read his book and loved it," Mike tells AOL.

So moved by the doctor he was that the two eventually met and struck up a close friendship. Then, one day, "this voice of the Love Guru emerged and I started to say things like ‘The only way out is in’ and ‘Intimacy is In-to-Me-I-See,’" Mike says.

Dr. Chopra wasn’t the only who influenced the creation of Guru Maurice. Best-selling author and Vietnam War vet Gary Zukav also served as inspiration — and yes, Mike caught him on Oprah as well.

"I love Oprah," he says. "Oprah, I admire greatly. This experience she’s having on Earth is a great one. It’s an expansive one, and it’s an empowering one — she’s helping a lot of people."

Though the talk show queen has played a key role in getting The Love Guru off the ground, don’t expect to see her face among the cameos in the film.

Known for peppering his movies with star-studded appearances, the actor is keeping the A-listers coming in the comedy, opening friday. In addition to stars Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake, the film will also feature appearances by Sir Ben Kingsley, Stephen Colbert, Verne Troyer and Kanye West.

"I’ve been very lucky that a lot of people have been [in] cameos in my movies over the years — what people kind of know is that it’s a party, a filmed party," Mike says. "What I want to do is create a great, fun atmosphere and then put that on film."

Mike and Verne a.k.a. Mini-Me weren’t the only ones with a past connection on The Love Guru. The comedian and Kanye share some history too. During a benefit concert for Hurriance Katrina, where the two presented together, the rapper went into attack mode, declaring that "George Bush doesn’t care about black people." The comment offended a lot of people, but Mike wasn’t one of them.

"I went to the Katrina telethon because I was very moved by the plight of the people in New Orleans and I wanted to make a difference," he says. "I think that the frustration that Kanye expressed was valid … I just think you gotta tell a feller you’re gonna say it. [Laughs] Just tell a feller, would ya?"

While he admires Kanye’s audacity, Mike definitely won’t be making any political comments of his own.

"I don’t feel that being political is my forte — doing characters and sort of speaking what’s on my mind has been something I’m more comfortable with. I admire political comedy, it’s just not anything that I’ve ever been good at. "

Mike Myers: Justin & Jessica Don’t Need the Love Guru

June 17th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

One couple who definitely won’t be seeking out The Love Guru’s advice is Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel.

"I don’t need to give them love advice," the guru himself, Mike Myers, tells OK! at the film’s premiere. "They’re unbelievably lovable and much loved."

The funnyman isn’t the only one who thinks so. Justin’s partner-in-crime Trace Ayala gives the couple’s yearlong relationship the seal of approval as well.

"They are awesome," he tells OK!. "She’s the best."

Although the saying goes that "opposite attracts," that’s not the case with J&J. The two work well together because they’re "very, very similiar," Trace says.

So can we expect wedding bells soon?

"I hope so, to be honest," Trace says. "They’re awesome together. He’s happy, man. He’s so happy."

Justin’s Speedo Stealing Role

June 10th, 2008

The new comedy The Love Guru may star A-list actors Mike Meyers and Jessica Alba, but it was the film’s supporting actor who ended up stealing the show–in a Speedo!

Justin Timberlake is revealing what it was like to wear the body hugging swimsuit for his role as L.A. Kings goalie Jacques Grande.

"This may be TMI but I was constantly digging out those wedgies!" The Grammy winner told Extra of his skimpy attire. Wedgies aside, JT says he actually enjoyed putting on the Speedo.

"I work out pretty diligently," he says. "At the time I was on tour, I worked on this film for ten days…I was on tour…so I was in shape."

Meyers, who co-wrote the film, tells Extra it didn’t take much to persuade Timberlake to strip down. "He’s not an uncomfortable person," Meyers explains. "This is a guy who was golfing yesterday on a pro course and got under 100. The Speedo is getting some very good reactions from people. Some people are very happy about the Speedo!"
