VIDEO: Jimmy Fallon Tries to Out-Golf Tiger Woods

June 26th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

Perhaps Late Night host Jimmy Fallon needs to learn that you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

On Thursday night’s edition of the NBC talk show, Jimmy had on golf great Tiger Woods and decided to boast about having beaten Tiger in a round of golf. Not real golf, but the champ’s own video game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10.

Maybe he shouldn’t have brought up the topic, because Tiger challenged him to a rematch.

Playing on a Nintendo Wii projected onto a massive screen so the whole studio audience could see, the two teed off on Late Night’s virtual green.

We won’t tell you who won, but let’s just say that neither of them are going to be winning any trophies in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 any time soon…

Angelina More Powerful than Oprah?

June 4th, 2009

Do you get the feeling that somewhere inside Oprah Winfrey’s home, she’s throwing darts at a portrait of Angelina Jolie? Somehow, the superstar actress has managed to bump the one-woman media empire from the top of Forbes magazine’s list of most powerful celebs.

Despite the fact that Angie earned only a tenth of Oprah’s estimated $275 million last year, she was still somehow able to make the jump from #3 to #1 on the annual Celebrity 100 list, which also considers media exposure (does Lady O’s daily talk show — or magazine, or radio network — not count?) in determining its rankings.

"These lists are really meaningless," one Hollywood insider tells OK!. "They’re fun for water-cooler chit-chat, but do you really think Angelina is any more ‘powerful’ than any of the others near the top of that list? And financially speaking, Oprah is really the only one who has the cash to play with the real power brokers that keep the world turning."

Oprah is still sitting pretty at #2, just above Madonna, Beyoncé, Tiger Woods, Bruce Springsteen and Steven Spielberg. Interestingly enough — Angie’s baby-daddy Brad Pitt (#9) was beat out by his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, who landed in the #8 spot.

Baby #2 for Tiger Woods

February 9th, 2009

Congratulations to Tiger Woods and his wife Elin, who welcomed their second child into the world over the weekend!

The baby, a boy named Charlie Axel Woods, was born on Sunday, Feb. 8, Tiger confirmed in a posting on his official Web site.

"Both Charlie and Elin are doing great," reads part of the statement. "We want to thank everyone for their sincere and best wishes and kind thoughts."

And though the couple’s daughter Sam Alexis isn’t even two-years-old yet, Tiger says the little girl is "very excited to be a big sister… We feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family."

Tiger & Elin: Baby #2!

September 2nd, 2008

Golf’s golden boy Tiger Woods and his wife of Elin Nordegren, who have been married since 2005, are expecting their second child, according to an announcement from Tiger posted on his official site. The couple are already parents to 1-year-old Sam Alexis.

After opening his post with a look back on the year’s highs and lows, Tiger adds one more high, saying, "And now I have some wonderful news to report. Sam is going to be a big siste. Elin and I are proud to report that we are expecting our second child in late-winter."

Tiger also casts a positive light on his recent surgery, saying it’s given him more time to spend with his young daughter.

"While my injury has been disappointing and frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time watching Sam grow," he writes. "I can’t begin to tell you how rewarding it is being a dad and spending time with her and Elin. The injury has been a blessing and a disappointment."

As for whether it’s going to be a boy or a girl for the proud parents, even Tiger can only guess.

"I hope everyone had a great holiday," he concludes, "and I’m already starting to wonder if Sam’s sibling will be a boy or a girl."

Either way, we hope the little one inherits Tiger’s talent!

August 27th, 2008

Tiger Woods says he’s recovering well afer having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

"My leg is getting better," Woods said during the PGA Tour ‘09 Game Release Party.

The golf great tells Extra that he spent much of his recuperation time watching the Beijing Olympics, catching all of the events "as much as I could."

When asked about golden boy Michael Phelps who was expected at the event, Woods said, "Michael Phelps is probably better in the pool than I am."

Miley’s Millions

April 11th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

To anyone whose last name isn’t Trump, $18.2 million is an unimaginable amount of money to earn in one year. And yet, according to the latest edition of Parade magazine’s annual "What People Earn" issue, that’s precisely what teen sensation Miley Cyrus pulled down — and she’s nowhere near the top of the list. In fact, many celebs on this year’s list earn several times what the Hannah Montana star brings home.

For example, Parade reports that underwear model and quarterback arm candy Gisele Bündchen apparently earns $33 million for looking good in skimpy clothes, the same amount of cash brought home by rapper 50 Cent.

And then there’s TV headshrinker Dr. Phil McGraw, who makes almost five times what Miley does, with an annual income around $90 million. Of course, he’s small change compared to the likes of mega-hit director Steven Spielberg ($110 million), golf superstar Tiger Woods ($115 million) and the queen of celebrity cash, Oprah Winfrey, who takes in a reported $260 million — more than twice as much as any of the other 17 celebrities on the list!

Meanwhile, there are those stars who are still working their way up to Hannah Montana millions. Scarlett Johansson may make a lot of movies, but she only made $5 million. Sexy mom-to-be Jessica Alba earns about half of Miley’s take, pulling in $9 million. And Katherine Heigl, who had a bang-up year with the double shot of Grey’s Anatomy and Knocked Up, is on the rise with $11 million.

Of course, these celebs should have absolutely no reason to complain. The combined total of the 18 celebrities on Parade’s list was 100 times more money than the total of the 112 normal, hard-working Americans on the list!
