Go ‘figer…

February 25th, 2009 / Author: OK! Staff

This morning brought the happy news that Tommy Hilfiger’s wife, Dee Ocleppo, is pregnant.

But it came as a suprise to OK! — because Tommy recently told us he didn’t want any more kids!

The celebrity designer and his wife of three months have both been married before, and have quite a brood between them.

And back in June, Tommy told OK! that that was plenty.

"Oh no!," said the Prince of Prep when we asked him if we could expect to hear the patter of tiny boat shoes after their wedding.

"I have children already — I have four of my own and my fiance has two. So I have six now.

"That’s enough. I think we’re set right now!"

We wonder what changed their tune.

A rep for Tommy confirmed to OK! that the Dee is indeed pregnant with her third child.

"They couldn’t be happier," said the rep.

Congrats guys!

Jenna Fischer on Being Iconic

October 3rd, 2008

Even as audiences are hanging on every move Pam and Jim make in their romance on The Office—especially after Jim proposed to Pam at a gas station last week—Jenna Fischer thinks they still have a long way to go in terms of becoming an iconic TV couple.

"Ross and Rachel, Sam and Diane [of Cheers] and Moonlighting – those shows are still the top," Jenna told OK! at an event celebrating Tommy Hilfiger’s Bravo special, Ironic Iconic America Thursday night in Beverly Hills. "I’m not quite sure where we are. We’re maybe middle tier."

Although their fans might disagree with that assessment, exactly how would Jim and Pam reach that higher echelon of TV coupledom? Jenna says she’s not quite sure.

"It’s hard to ever be Ross and Rachel that’s for sure, [and] it’s hard to be Sam and Diane," she admits. "Maybe we’ll be the first couple to have a baby – oh, no I guess Ross and Rachel did that too. I don’t think there’s anything. We’ll have to see."

Bar Refaeli Talks About First Film Role

September 22nd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli isn’t just another pretty face – Aside from strolling the catwalks in some of fashion’s most prestigious shows, Bar told OK! at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party that she’ll be appearing in a fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger’s new show on Bravo, and appearing in the movie Session.

"It’s awesome, I’m very excited," she told OK! of the flick. But Bar’s on-off boyfriend, Oscar-nominated actor Leonardo DiCaprio, needn’t worry about any competition from his camera-friendly gal pal. "I’m just trying to taste everything if I can; if I get the opportunity. I’m still modeling.??"

Even though she’s so busy these days, Bar says she still finds time for everything else outside of her professional life. And while she’s not talking about her hunky beau, she does give a few hints as to what she’s looking for in a man.

"Someone that can make me laugh," she reveals to OK! "They have to have a sense of humor, they have to be romantic at times, [and] they have to be a family person."

No More Kids For Hilfiger and Fiancé

July 3rd, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Tommy Hilfiger may be getting married again, but he says he is definitely not planning on having any more children.

Last night, the super-designer told OK! that the half-dozen kids that he and his fiancé, Dee Ocleppo, have between them is quite enough!

The 57-year-old announced back in February that he had proposed to the former model, and they celebrated the engagement with a glam party in New York in earlier this month.

But at the New York premiere of the Glamour magazine’s Docs movie — supported by his Dreaming fragrance — Tommy told us that when the couple get married, they won’t be sealing the deal by having kids together.

"Oh no!," he said, "I have children already — I have four of my own and my fiance has two. So I have six now.

"That’s enough. I think we’re set right now!"

Star Jones Dresses for Success

April 17th, 2008

Star Jones is the draw during the Dress for Success Worldwide Gala and a gaggle of reporters gather to accost her with questions about her marriage. She makes us wait until 45 minutes after the event begins.

In the meantime, Tommy Hilfiger slides through with his date, fiancée Dee Ocleppo, who is carrying a purse that looks exactly like a cherry fruit roll-up. “I thought I needed a pop of red because I’m all blue-and-white, so I had to have the red, white and blue,” she tells me.

Former Apprentice judge Carolyn Kepcher tells me how she dresses for success in the workplace.

“Everything really has to be appropriate,” the mother of two tells me. “When you wake up, you put your clothes on and you look at yourself in the mirror, and you say, ‘I don’t know if that’s quite right,’ chances are it probably is not right.”

What are her office fashion don’ts? “Too tight clothes, too much cleavage, bright wildflower colors, stilettos — maybe not.”

Semi-Homemade Cooking star Sandra Lee is an event fixture. What does she look forward to enjoying at these galas that she can’t get anywhere else? “Open bar. Am I allowed to say that?” she laughs.

The xylophone dings as Diddy’s mom Janice Combs, stylist Philip Bloch and philanthropist Denise Rich take their last sips of Stirrings simple pomegranate martinis and head into the gala.

We’re getting antsy for Star. Word arrives that she’s not doing interviews, but she is a huge deal so we stick around for a shout-out.

Here comes drama. It’s Star Jones! At long last she breezes through as another reporter directs her “right this way” before asking her the marriage question. “No, no, no, get away from me,” she says. Talk about intensity! Ah, “who designed your dress?” I ask as she is running away. Star smiles and says, “Alice and Olivia.”

At least Star puts herself out there for a worthy cause. Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Part Two: J.Lo Shines a Light on Rolling Stones

April 4th, 2008

It’s sheer pandemonium when the Rolling Stones descend on NYC’s Ziegfeld Theatre for the premiere of their concert documentary Shine a Light. Fans sneak in the line to the press line hoping to score face time with their idols — a cameraman attempts to bring his mom! Of course, it’s air tight as always and no one is getting through.

Surprise: Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are on their way. Really!

Mick Jagger is very kind, but the publicist goes ape after a financial reporter asks the Rolling Stone how the recession affects him.

“You invest in different things,” Mick says. “You have to watch out and you don’t spend too much on drinks. And you only go out twice a week.”

The publicist roars, “You know what guys?! We’re here talking about the movie. If you want to ask about the recession, don’t come.”

And there goes my chance to talk to Mick, as she says it’s ruined for the group of reporters in which I stand. The woman threatens to kick my well-meaning pal out. Whoa!

There’s also high drama when I ask Charlie Watts about whether he supports Hillary Clinton, who appears in the first half-hour of the film. “Yeah, I think so,” he says. Bam! “Ask him questions about the movie,” she says, cutting him off. “She was in the movie!” I protest.

Luckily, reps cool their heels by the time the other Stones make their way.

Ron Wood, who smells of alcohol, says, “Is there any water or anything?” when he steps up. Voila — a bottle of Poland Spring appears.

“You’ve done everything,” a reporter begins. “I haven’t done everything… you’re gorgeous,” he says.

Ron tells me the group will never again perform their first single "Come On." “They absolutely refuse to play it. I go, ‘Come On,’ it’s a great song, let’s go.’ I try to get them to play it but they won’t.”

What’s his favorite thing to do in NYC? “Try and get out on my own. It’s impossible.”

Although Keith Richards says he’ll never retire from touring, he confesses to taking more naps. “Now and again, yes,” he says. He cackles when asked the secret to a happy marriage, and says his favorite place in New York is “my bedroom.”

Jerry Bruckheimer, Vanessa Carlton, Michelle Yeoh, Tommy Hilfiger and Gina Gershon give love to the Rolling Stones on their way into the venue as stunning Theodora Richards waits for a friend. Stephen Bing — the billionaire who fathered Liz Hurley’s son Damian — produced the film, but he’s dressed way down in faded jeans and white gym shoes.

The movie starts, but reporters wait because reps say tickets are being saved for J.Lo and Marc. Thirty minutes after the screening begins, the glam couple arrive, smiling and waving regally. How are the twins? “Thank you,” she tells me.

Pick up the OK! out now to find out how Keith feels about this concert documentary competing with Miley Cyrus’s record-breaking concert documentary Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds. “Britney Lost 15 Lbs. in Just 4 Weeks" is the cover line. And, don’t miss Part One: My Day With the Rolling Stones.

Shine a Light is in theaters now.

Stars to Commemorate MLK Jr

September 11th, 2007

With an All Star line up that includes Whoopi Goldberg, Queen Latifah, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Carlos Santana just to name a few the ‘Dream Concert’ being held next week at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall should promise a good time.

The concert is being held to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr and his contributions to American history.

The co-chairs for the event, Tommy Hilfiger and Russell Simmons said, "This historic event embodies the ideals of hope and justice for which Dr. King stood. The concert will capture the essence of his lasting teaching by joining together musicians from across genre lines and pairing together unique musical combinations not usually found on the same stage."

The show will happen on September 18 and all ticket proceeds (tickets on sale at ticketmaster.com) will go to building the Martin Luther king Jr. National Memorial in DC.

Fashion Week Diary: Day One

September 6th, 2007

Hairspray’s Brittany Snow gushed over co-star Zac Efron’s teen idol status at the 1920s Gatsby-inspired Erin Fetherston show. “I wasn’t surprised. I always knew he was going to be over the top," Brittany told OK!. "It’s funny, though, because I see him everywhere now and he and I got very close over Hairspray. And he’s like my little brother. It’s just strange seeing a generally nice, well-rounded kid get so big. And how rare it is that he hasn’t let it go to his head. And I love him for that.”

•At the Zang Toi charity show (think super-soft, feminine, Asian-inspired clothes) for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, we ran into Patti LaBelle who, when she’s not supporting cancer charities and proclaiming her love for OK!, is busy at work on her many various projects: “I just did something with Boyz II Men, they’re doing a Motown covers album coming out. I recorded my Christmas album. I also did a cooking DVD and my new hot sauce line with pots and pans and aprons. I’m working on a regular Patti La Belle album next year.”

At the Tommy Hilfiger party for his book Iconic America, whose proceedes will go to UNICEF, held at the MOMA, performer Debbie Harry of Blondie was excited to talk about her new album, Necessary Evil. She told OK!: “It’s a bunch of rock songs. It’s mostly songs about love, oddly enough. I have a great appreciation of it and all the forms that it takes and I felt like it’s such an important thing in all of our lives especially when we’re dealing with radical theology.”

Meanwhile, the man of the evening, Mr. Hilfiger himself, who is showing his 50’s inspired collection next week, opened up to OK! about his place in pop culture history. “Tommy Hilfiger’s inspiration from the very, very beginning has always been about embracing iconic America. From places like Nantucket to Malibu to Florida to Texas. If you think about it, America embodies a richness and spirit and diversity that no other country embodies,” he said.

Stay tuned for more updates as fashion week rolls on!
