NKOTB Cancel Aussie Tour

Bad news for fans of New Kids on the Block in Australia: the boys have canceled their tour Down Under, perhaps due to rumored poor ticket sales in the depressed global economy.

 

Donnie Wahlberg posted on the band’s website blog that the group had "exhausted efforts" to get the tour going, but it was proving to be "too complex."

"We are, in fact, in the middle of a worldwide recession and we just cannot make it work," he says, although he didn’t attribute the cancellation to poor ticket sales.

 

After breaking up in 1994, NKOTB reunited last year with the album, The Block, and toured the U.S. and Canada, promoting it to great success.

 

Donnie adds that the guys are "saddened" not to be going to Australia in August, since the country has "always, always, been one of our favorite places to travel to."

"We can only assure you that when the recession’s stranglehold on the world’s economies eases up a bit – we will find a way to make this work," he says.

Brit Treats Dancers to Easter Brunch

Britney Spears took a break from her busy Circus Tour on Sunday to celebrate Easter, and she made sure to include her hardworking dancers in the festivities!

The pop-star treated all of her backup dancers to Easter Brunch on the roof of Hotel Valencia in San Jose, Calif., where they enjoyed catered salad, chicken, veggies, fruit and other delicious treats. Britney and her group laughed and relaxed while listening to music from the street below. The singer posted a pic from the day on her official website.

 

It’s nice to know it’s not all work and no play for the Britster!

Britney & Madonna Not Joining Forces on Tour

Madonna may have invited Britney Spears to pop in during one of her L.A. concert shows, but it looks like the favor will not be returned after all!

Contrary to reports, Britney will not be collaborating with Madonna while on tour. Brit’s official website just released the following statement:

"Despite rumors otherwise, at the moment Britney has no plans to collaborate with anyone in the near future at any of her upcoming performances.

P.S.- David Alexander is not Britney’s stylist nor have we ever heard of him."

Tabloid reports claimed Madonna would be appearing on stage with Brit when she hits the Big Apple on March 23, citing a stylist named "David Alexander" as their source.

Britney’s Family Circus

Just a few hours before taking the stage at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Britney Spears seemed nothing like the erotic pop star that she portrays on her new tour. Instead, the real-life mom showed her nurturing side by bringing joy to dozens of ill youngsters at Miami Children’s Hospital on March 7.

 

The scene brought tears to many of the parents present – and spoke volumes about the new Britney.

 

“This tour has had a totally unexpected impact on Britney and her own kids, turning them into a real family,” a friend of Britney tells OK!. “At first, Preston and Jayden were set to stay home with dad Kevin Federline, but as the start date came closer, the boys begged their mother not to leave them.”

Initially, Britney struggled with the idea of adding parenting responsibilities to an already grueling performance schedule.

 

“She worried, ‘Can I handle it?’ ” her pal reveals. “But it’s working out better than anyone could have predicted.”

 

Britney expanded The Circus convoy with one extra bus, which sons Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, share with their father, Kevin.

 

“Even though Britney is working harder than she has in years, she’s also spending more time with the kids than she has in their entire lives,” her friend tells OK!. “Britney is finally a grown-up who is taking being a parent seriously.”

But 27-year-old Britney still loves having fun with the boys! On March 5, she treated her sons to a day at Walt Disney World. “Preston and Jayden were so excited,” a park guest tells OK!. “They wanted to meet Mickey right away.”

And on Wednesday night, Britney got a surprise visit from someone almost as famous as Mickey Mouse — Madonna!

According to Britney’s personal site, the Material Girl made a surprise appearance at Brit’s show in Long Island, NY. "Britney was thrilled to have her there!" reads a statement on the site.

Britney’s Fans Love Her Again

The critics have weighed in on Britney Spears’ comeback Circus tour – but what are her fans saying?

 

One OK! reader who went to see the Britster live and in person on March 5 at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena couldn’t be happier with the "Womanizer" singer’s showmanship. Superfan Jenna Galliard let us know exactly how she feels when it comes to the concert experience.

The old energy has returned to the star: "She just seemed like she was genuinely having fun throughout the whole thing. You could just tell through her facial expressions that she was enjoying herself and loved the crowd’s reaction. When she talked to the audience after the second song, she got such a great response from the crowd that it looked like she was blushing or embarrassed and didn’t know how to react to everyone going crazy."

 

Brit’s body is back, too: "She looked great, her body is amazing for having two kids. It’s obviously not completely the ‘old Britney’ body but she has really come a long way and she looks great!"

 

Costume changes are a bit much: "Britney had a lot of costume changes, probably at least seven or eight. It got to a point where we noticed every few songs she was underneath the stage and there would be either a pre-recorded video playing of her or there were breakdancers dancing, or people doing karate to Britney Spears music. It was like two minute breaks every couple songs, that kind of got annoying."

 

Brit works hard, and it shows: "She definitely did a good job at working the room. There were three round stages and she worked them all making sure every side got enough time. There was always so much to look at and you never got bored. If there was a slow song, she was being swung in the air from a giant umbrella or she even got picked up from the ground by a dancer that was suspended from the air. She just made everything interesting."

 

She’s a crowd-pleaser!: "They picked a guy out of the crowd and Britney sang "Breathe on Me" to him on stage which was kind of cool, the crowd liked that. Also, she did a really good mixture of songs – from her newest album all the way back to ‘Baby One More Time.’ There wasn’t a song you wished she’d left out. "

 

Overall, she’s a hit: "It was just a really amazing show! Very entertaining – if you’ve ever been a Britney fan it was very fun and definitely worth seeing!"

Britney Reveals Circus Setlist

Britney Spears has already proved that she’s once more a force to be reckoned with, debuting hits like "Womanizer" and "If You Seek Amy." And now the pop star’s return to the touring circuit looks like it’s shaping up to be quite hot as well, as she reveals her setlist on BritneySpears.com.

In addition to performing songs like "Circus," "Piece of Me" and "Womanizer," the set list reveals the sassy names for each set’s performance, like"Britney’s Hotline" (after "Get Naked," natch) and "Thunderstorm segue."

 

The songtress also took to her MySpace Celebrity page to give fans even more insight into her upcoming tour, posting a behind-the-scenes look at her rehearsals and showing off her new status as a Candies spokesperson.

 

We can only wait and see what this show will hold, but at least now fans have a few clues to get excited about!

Britney Heads East to Prep for Tour

Britney Spears is really going on tour y’all!
OK! can confirm that the singer left Van Nuys Airport in L.A. via private jet and touched down in McComb, Mississippi, at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, near her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.

Brit had her boys, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, with her, along with Kevin Federline’s bodyguard, and an entourage of about a dozen people, including her brother Bryan Spears. Brit’s dad, Jamie Spears, who earlier today testified in court about Sam Lutfi’s predatory hold over his daughter, flew separately and  met the group at the airport where they drove straight to Lynne Spears‘ Kentwood estate, Serenity.

Brit kicks off her U.S. tour on March 3 in New Orleans.

Seal’s Shows Have Got “Soul”

Seal wants North America to know he’s definitely got Soul – and he’s just announced he’ll be heading out on tour this spring in support of his new album.

 

Heidi Klum’s husband just finished up a South American and European tour with the album, which has sold 2 million albums since its release in November.

 

The busy dad’s tour will kick off March 31 in Minneapolis, Minn., and continue on until May 6, where Seal will cap off the string of shows in L.A.

Britney & Nine Inch Nails Rock Same Rehearsal Space

Well here’s an unlikely pairing: Britney Spears and Nine Inch Nails!

The pop singer and the hard-rock band have reportedly gotten chummy while sharing the same rehearsal space as each prepares for their separate tours.

On Brit’s official blog, NIN frontman Trent Reznor wrote, "I can hear the thumping low end of Britney Spears. It’s been a treat having them here the whole time we’ve been here."

Apparently Brit agrees. The singer’s manager, Adam Leber, says, "Brit has been sharing the same rehearsal space with NIN for the past few weeks and they are getting along famously. Maybe we should ask Trent Reznor to remix Circus?"

Sounds like a double dog dare to us!

Nine Inch Nails definitely isn’t above collaborating outside their music genre. Johnny Cash recorded an amazing cover of the band’s hit song "Hurt" in 2002.
