Eddie Murphy and new wife Tracey Edmonds are happily married no more. The newlyweds have decided to call it quits after only two weeks of apparently not-so-blissful wedded bliss.
Through a statement from his rep, Eddie told TV’s Extra: "After much consideration and discussion, we have jointly decided that we will forego having a legal ceremony as it is not necessary to define our relationship further. While the recent symbolic union in Bora Bora was representative of our deep love, friendship and respect that we have for one another on a spiritual level, we have decided to remain friends."
The couple had a wedding ceremony on the tropical island nation of French Polynesia over the New Year’s holiday.

As OK! was the first to report, Eddie Murphy and his fiancée Tracey Edmonds traveled to the tropical island paradise of French Polynesia over the New Year’s holiday to make their union official by saying their "I do’s" before an audience of close family and friends.
Eddie, 46, and Tracey, a 40-year-old movie producer, got engaged in July, just weeks after her divorce from then-husband, singer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Tracey has two sons with Babyface, while Eddie is the father of five — four with his ex-wife Nicole, whom he divorced in 2006, and a daughter, Angel Iris, with ex-girlfriend Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
“Eddie’s a great father,” Tracey recently said. “We’ve had a chance to all spend a bit of time together.”
Now the Dreamgirls star is giving marriage another shot. “Eddie and Tracey couldn’t be happier,” a source tells OK!

As OK! first reported in October, Oscar-nominated actor Eddie Murphy and fiancée Tracey Edmonds are set to walk down the aisle today in Tahiti.
Sources tell OK! that the pair, along with family and a few close friends, has arrived on the South Pacific island for the intimate ceremony.
