Jessica Simpson Returns to Reality

June 22nd, 2009

Fans of Jessica Simpson’s work on her reality show with ex-husband Nick Lachey, Newlyweds can rejoice: The woman who once asked if Chicken of the Sea was chicken or tuna will be back on reality TV soon.

Jess has signed on for VH1 series The Price of Beauty, a show which, according to a press release, will take her all over to the world to "to meet women, study local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes," to try and figure out the meaning of true beauty.

"I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect," she says in the release.

But if you’re looking for your next fix of Jess soon look elsewhere – The Price of Beauty won’t air until 2010.

Sharon Osbourne Sued for Catfight

March 3rd, 2009

Even Sharon Osbourne can’t go around pulling hair on TV and get away with it – the Rock of Love Charm School host, who got into an intense catfight with contestant Megan Hauserman during the reunion special on VH1 in December, is now being sued by said rejected charm school attendee.

Megan filed suit against Sharon in L.A. on Monday, alleging battery, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to the Associated Press. She wants to go to trial against Ozzy’s wife, and wants some money, too.

The bad news for Sharon is definitely in the fact that the whole altercation was caught on tape, after Megan insulted Ozz, something Sharon didn’t take to too well. Sharon ended up with a fistful of Megan’s weave and now, perhaps more than a few regrets.

Confessions of a Teen Idol: Casting Scoop!

December 2nd, 2008

The TV Fanatic has some seriously delish teenybopper scoop for you!

VH1 is about to launch Confessions of a Teen Idol, its newest celebreality series that follows former heartthrobs of the ’80s and ’90s as they try to reclaim their fame from the past. I am, like, totally dying to see this!

The network has yet to confirm, but my sources tell me the show’s upcoming stars include Eric Nies, who first appeared in the original The Real World and went on to host MTV’s dance show The Grind.

He’ll be joined by Jamie Walters, who appeared as Donna’s abusive boyfriend Ray on Beverly Hills 90210, and Jeremy Jackson, who plunged onto fame as David Hassehoff’s teen son on Baywatch.

But my personal fave is Christopher Atkins, who burst on the scene in the 1980 romance classic The Blue Lagoon. Who could forget his luscious blonde curls, and the then 19-year-old stud wearing, well, nothing at all!

Look for these guys, and the rest of the cast, to try to reclaim the spotlight of teen idol past beginning Jan. 4.

SHOULD YOU WATCH?: The Cho Show

August 21st, 2008

Margaret Cho is not a shy woman.

Believe us when we say the phrase "too much information" means absolutely nothing to her.

In a darkened corner of a party at New York City’s Le Royale to celebrate the launch of her new VH1 series, The Cho Show, the comedian left OK!’s Oliver Coleman blushing with, em, vivid tales of cosmetic procedures we never knew existed (and still aren’t sure we believe are possible!).

On the show, which Margaret says is a blend of a reality show and a sitcom, she promised us she’s even more unabashed, even treating the viewing public to a nice long close up of a certain body part that even she had never seen before.

So it’s all the more sweet when the San Fransisco native tells us there’s one thing she won’t share with the cameras, her husband, Al Ridenour.

He’s not in the show at all, we asked (while desperately trying to put the whole bleaching thing out of our minds!).

"No," said Margaret, "because I want to stay married."

Apparently the couple didn’t want to run the risk of their marriage to become another victim of reality TV,  a la Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson of The Newlyweds failed fame.

"I just love him, so I don’t want to have to put anybody through that," Margaret told us.

"He’s not an actor, he’s not an on-camera person, he’s a visual artist, sculptor, painter and a filmmaker, and he’s not comfortable in front of the camera. I don’t want to put our relationship under that kind of scrutiny. That to me is very awkward."

But her long-suffering mom and dad are another matter altogether.

For the Korean-American, who has regaled her stand-up audiences with tales of Mr. and Mrs. Cho for years, they were just too funny to leave out, whether they liked it or not!

"Well, I told them they had to do it because it was either this or assisted living, and they said, ‘alright’," Margaret declared.

"They have to do everything I say now, because they’re at the age now where they need me. I have a lot of leverage."

She may be joking.

The Cho Show premieres on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 11 p.m. on VH1.

You’ve been warned.

Natasha Bedingfield Saves The Music!

April 28th, 2008

At VH1’s Save the Music Foundation’s Third Annual Big Shopping Day, pop star Natasha Bedingfield was there because she feels it’s a cause close to her heart. The event’s performer told OK! "This is really important because it’s about putting instruments in schools and, you know, music is an amazing thing to just, like, I don’t know. For me, I found when I was in school, it was very therapeutic."

The upbeat singer couldn’t wait to hit the stage and belt out a few numbers for the charity event. "I’m doing acoustic with my guitarist and singers, so I’ve always loved doing that when it’s just really intimate," she said. "I really like my new song called Pocket Full of Sunshine and in the chorus it says, “take me away,” so I always feel like I’m taken away when I sing it."

Natasha’s music is familiar to fans of the shows The Hills, which makes her quite happy!

"Yes, I am a fan!" she said.

DVR THIS! Britney’s Shocking Moments ‘07

September 11th, 2007

Still scratching your head over Britney Spears bombastic opening at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night? VH1 attempts to shed some light on the pop star’s troubling year on All Access: Britney’s Shocking Moments ‘07, airing tonight at 8:30 p.m. on the network. I’m pretty certain Britney’s OK! photo shoot meltdown is at the top of the list.
