Matthew & Jen Talk Babies On Set

Being a working actor and parent in Hollywood can’t be easy, so it’s nice if your co-star has some tips for the less experienced. Matthew McConaughey says he benefited from Ghosts of Girlfriends Past co-star Jennifer Garner while they were on set.

 

"Watching her on set be a mother and be a professional actress and be a pro at both," he tells Entertainment Tonight. "From the outside it seemed like it was seamlessly effortless. It’s not, but she made it look effortless."

Speaking of effortless, Matthew says son Levi, with girlfriend Camila Alves, is already turning into a good little traveler.

 

"He’s easy to take with us. He’s been out of the country five times and already been on a long road trip."

 

And for co-star Jen, she’s already back in her mothering groove with daughter #2, Seraphina, who joins toddler Violet. Hubby Ben Affleck, however, has some adjusting to do.

 

"She’s great! She’s really good," Jen tells ET of Seraphina, adding that having so many women in the house is an adjustment for Ben.

 

"There’s a lot of estrogen but so far he’s handled it pretty well!"

Gwyn and Ben: Still Friends

Exes Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Affleck have stayed so close since their two-year relationship ended in 1999 that even their kids are pals!

Ben and his daughter Violet, 4, joined guests, including Steven Spielberg and Liv Tyler, at an April 11 rodeo-themed 3rd birthday for Gwyneth’s son, Moses, at the actress’ L.A. home.

 

With wife Jennifer Garner noticeable absent, State of Play star Ben, 36, chatted with the actress-turned-lifestyle guru, 36, while their children played.

 

"They had a lot of games for the kids, including a real horse with a cowboy," an onlooker tells OK!.

 

But did the reunion upset Gwyn’s hubby, Chris Martin? The bashful 32-year-old rocker ducked into the house when he saw Ben arrive.

 

"Chris didn’t want to be around," adds the spy. "As soon as Ben left, he came back out."

Ben Affleck Wants a Son

Daddy Ben Affleck is thrilled that his new baby girl, Seraphina Rose, born Jan. 6, has joined daughter Violet, 3, in his growing brood. But a friend of the He’s Just Not That Into You star says he’s already lobbying wife Jennifer Garner to get pregnant again–and this time, with a boy!

"Ben’s happy to keep going until he gets his boy," says a friend, who notes the star’s fanatical love for the Boston Red Sox. "He has visions of dressing a little guy in Red Sox gear, tossing a baseball around and cheering in the stands together."

Jen, however, has other plans! "She’s told friends that she’s done," a friend of the couple, both 36, tells OK!. "She jokes with Ben, ‘If you want more babies, you’ll have to find a way to produce them yourself!’"

But Ben is convinced he’ll change Jen’s mind–eventually. And he may be right!

"Jen is a big softie when it comes to giving Ben what he wants," says the friend. And if Ben remains the lone male in the Affleck household? "He’ll have those little girls dressed head-to-toe in Red Sox gear!"

Ben Affleck Says New Baby is “Doing Great”

Oscar-winner Ben Affleck may be in Washington, D.C. right now to cheer on the incoming U.S. President Barack Obama, but as the father of a two-week-old baby daughter, the actor’s mind is with his newborn child.

"She’s gorgeous!" the proud pop raved to OK! about baby girl Seraphina Rose, who was born on Jan. 6, when we caught up with him at Sunday night’s Declare Yourself party in the nation’s capitol. "She’s doing great," he added.

Seraphina is of course the youngest daughter for Ben and wife of nearly four years Jennifer Garner. The couple are already parents to one of Hollywood’s most notoriously adorable kids, 3-year-old Violet Affleck.

No Baby Yet for Jen & Ben

She’s been looking ready to pop for weeks, and for now,  it looks like she’s going to stay that way.

After an early morning visit to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday that set off speculation that she was about to give birth, Jennifer Garner is back home in Brentwood–pregnant belly still intact.

Garner, who’s expecting her second child with husband Ben Affleck (daughter Violet is 2), arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier today holding protectively to her hubby’s arm and looking as if she was about to cry bloody murder. But alas, it seems the Alias star was only making a routine visit to her doctor.

The shy couple managd to avoid the paparazzi and sneak home after their appointment, where Jen happily resumed her weekly Wednesday trip the the Farmers’ Market in Santa Monica.

So, it looks like–for now–the only thing Jennifer Garner will be popping this New Year’s Eve is the cork on that bottle of sparkling Apple Cider.

Soon-to-be first-time dad Matthew McConaughey has a new nickname for Jennifer Garner: Supermom! The two, who are currently shooting the film Ghosts of Girlfriends Past in Boston, have taken to talking ‘parenthood’ during their breaks in filming.

Sources say Matthew, 38, who is expecting his first child this fall with girlfriend Camila Alves, 25, is quizzing Violet’s mom on everything from changing diapers to getting enough sleep.

"He says he just wants to be prepared and is excited about being a dad for the first time," a set insider tells OK!. And, according to witnesses on set, Jen’s advice is getting rave reviews. "Matt calls her ‘Supermom’ and ‘Mary Poppins,’" a source says. "He’ll ask for something, and she’ll look in her bag and magically have it. One day he asked for duct tape! She said she didn’t have it but does like to be prepared for anything."

 

 

Celebs Go Toy Crazy!

Yesterday, famed NYC toy store FAO Schwartz saw not one but two Hollywood mamas stop by.

First, an eyewitness told OK! that Jennifer Garner and her baby girl Violet dropped by for story hour. One of the living Toy Soldiers read the mommy and daughter duo The Wheels on the Bus.

Shortly after they left, Angelina Jolie and her son Maddox dropped by. They were there for a bit and bought some toys, an eyewitness told OK!

It seemed like it was just a mommy and me sort of day as neither Ben nor Brad were anywhere in sight.
