Maddox is the Boss!

February 6th, 2009

With Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt making plans for baby #7 in their already bustling home, no one is more excited about the prospect of a new brother or sister in the house than the couple’s oldest child, Maddox.

The reason? It’s one more kid for him to boss around!

“Brad calls him ‘Maddox in charge,’” a friend of the couple tells OK!. “He loves assigning his siblings chores!”

And it seems that Maddox is also following in his architecture-minded father’s footsteps.

“Brad showed the kids pictures of the mansion they’re leasing on Long Island,” adds the pal, “and Mad decided to select the bedrooms for each of his brothers and sisters.”

By their own admission, six children just aren’t enough for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Indeed, when it comes to the Brangelina bunch – Maddox, 7, Pax, 5, Zahara, 4, Shiloh, 2, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 7 months, it’s never a matter of if, but when the family will grow.

In fact, OK! has learned exclusively that Angie, 33, is hoping to be pregnant with baby number seven by summertime.

“Angie is doing everything she can to get pregnant,” a source close to the actress tells OK!. “She’s taking prenatal vitamins, has dramatically cut down on her junk-food consumption, and is seeing her obstetrician regularly whenever she’s back in L.A.”

As OK! previously reported, doctors advised Angie not to conceive for at least a year following the July 12 birth of Knox and Vivienne. But the anxious actress is wasting no time in making sure the pregnancy happens right on schedule – or even before.

“Her goal is to be pregnant by the time Knox and Viv have their first birthday,” reveals the source. “Angie is one of those people who always manages to achieve whatever she wants."

And in this case, that’s baby #7!

There has been recent speculation that the culturally-intrigued couple will likely adopt another child very soon, maybe even on an upcoming Christmas trip.

"What do you think?" Angie lightheartedly asks OK! in response to her alleged upcoming adoption plans. "You think that I would tell you if I was?"

Although it’s still unsure if the Jolie-Pitts will have another addition to their international young bunch any time soon, Momma Pitt trusts how Brad and Angelina will choose the next new tyke to add to their rapid-growing famous family.

"That’s up to them!" she gushes to OK!.

Inside Angelina Jolie’s Grieving Process

November 26th, 2008 / Author: OK! Staff

Recently, OK! reported on Angelina Jolie’s struggle to fight back tears as she discussed her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, during a London press conference for her film, Changeling.

And in the current issue of OK!, we look into ways the Oscar-winning mother of six young children is finally coming to terms with the loss of her mother, who passed away in Jan. 2007 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

“She has to keep it together for the sake of her kids, but she is only human and falls apart from time to time,” a longtime friend of Angelina tells OK!. “She is still a mess over Marcheline’s departure, believing no one understands her the way her mother did. They had a very strong bond that she feels she will never have with another person.”

Throughout her grief, Angelina has been able to rely on her family. Her partner Brad Pitt has especially helped her get through the dark times. “Brad has been her rock, and he will always be there for her,” the friend tells OK!. “Without his love, she would never have been able to cope.”

Angelina also has drawn strength from her children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and 4-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne, whose middle name honors Marcheline.

“Mad tries to cheer her up and makes her laugh and smile,” reveals her friend. “She feels like she is the most privileged woman to have such an incredible family and has said her mother is a guardian angel over her household.”

Brad: Most Proud of Parenthood

November 19th, 2008

Despite late nights, dog duty and the constant attention of the paparazzi, Brad Pitt says he and partner Angelina Jolie will probably do it all over again with more children.

"We really enjoy it," he told Oprah Winfrey today of raising Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. " It’s the greatest endeavor we’ve ever taken on, and it’s the most interseting and most fulfilling, most rewarding thing I’ve ever experienced and why should it stop?"

One thing any new addition to the Jolie-Pitt family will have to get used to is the snapping of cameras as the high-profile family is followed by photographers almost constantly, something Brad says they try to cope with as best they can.

"We try to explain to them, ‘Yeah, people, they’re a little funny. They kind of like taking pictures and they’re a little weird but it’s alright.’ And like our little one said, "Actually, Daddy, it’s not alright."

No matter how the cameras might get to the kids, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actor says he and Angie do  what they can to do proivde a normal life.

"They have their friends and we try to keep as much normalcy as we can and do things together as a family," he reveals. "We keep everyone together and that’s our rule."

Brad also let fans in on some funny moments with the kids, sharing a story of when Zahara – known as Z.Z. – had something for her dad to investigate.

"Yesterday Z.Z. goes, ‘Daddy, smell,’ " he describes, holding out his hand. "And I go, ‘What, honey?’ She goes, ‘Smell.’ I go, ‘What is that?’ and she goes, ‘Dog poop. ‘ "

As for what Brad would like to do if he could be unrecognizable for a day, his wish is simple:"I would like to tear down my fences. I’d like to tear down my gate, I’d like to be able to see my neighbors. I’dlike my kids to be able to run in each other’s yards and their yards and our yards and wave at everybody."

Angelina: “100% Authentic & True”

November 18th, 2008

Angelina Jolie may be the hottest actress around, but she doesn’t let the fawning inflate her ego — so says Oscar-winner Ron Howard, who produced her crime drama Changeling.

“As powerful and glamorous a person as she is, she was 100% authentic and true,” he tells OK! at the premiere of his new film, Frost/Nixon, premiere at NYC’s Ziegfeld Theatre on Monday. “She’s great.”

Now that Angelina, 33, is up to six kids – Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, Shiloh, 2, and four-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne — with beau Brad Pitt, 44, she should be prepared to make sacrifices.

“For anybody who takes on that task and decides to deal with it responsibly, it means that there’s not much time for anything else,” Ron says. “You can love your family and you can love your work, and that had better be the extent of it because they’re both huge undertakings.”

Meanwhile, Pitt appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show (the interview airs Nov. 19), where he shared some of his family’s funnier moments.

Of daughter Shiloh, Brad says, "She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing. So we’ve got to call her John. [I'll say] ‘Shi, do you want…’ [she'll say] ‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ and she goes, ‘No!’ So, you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people."

Brad, who was on the show to promote his new film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, tells Oprah that when it comes to the daily routine, Angelina is the the boss.

"It’s like a half-hour just to get everyone buckled in and make sure they’ve got their snacks," he says. "Z.Z. [Zahara] has got a blanket and Shiloh’s got her silky. Angie’s militant about it. She’s right on top of it. Thank God, because I’m always forgetting something."

Angelina: “I Never Wanted to Become Pregnant”

November 14th, 2008

When Angelina Jolie met Brad Pitt on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004, she was a single mother of one adopted son, Maddox, with no thought in her mind to ever actually giving birth to a child. But as the romance with the former Mr. Jennifer Aniston bloomed over the months that followed the Oscar-winner’s mind slowly began to change.

"I never wanted to become pregnant," Angelina says in an interview with Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper. "Unless I had come to know Brad and see how loving he was with Maddox and [the couple's third adopted child] Pax. So that was a big step for me."

Of course, the camera-friendly couple are now parents to six children in total, with daughter Shiloh born in May 2006 and twins Vivienne and Knox in July 2008. And for the woman who never thought she’d experience childbirth, raising twins is proving to be a bit of an ordeal.

"It’s a little more stressful in terms of your time because you have two very tiny babies wanting your attention. But it’s also so beautiful to be part of that," she explains. "Once you have three or four children, having a few more isn’t going to alter your lifestyle that much… Brad and I have found a way to organize our time with the children and so we stick to that."
