Sienna Staying (Sort Of) Mum on Jude

June 12th, 2009

After Jude Law cheated on Sienna Miller with his kids’ nanny, Sienna says she had to learn to put it in the past and not talk too much about it… at Jude’s request!

"It’s dangerous to bring this up," she tells Vogue of their relationship. "I talked about him in an interview not long ago, saying that I still love him, and he was like, ‘Please stop talking about it.’ "

But Sienna doesn’t seem to have hard feelings against her ex still, and has learned from the experience.

"That was a very pivotal time in my life, and I’m happy saying that. It’s a private moment when you get your heart broken for the first time, and that was the absolute antithesis of private," she confesses of living in the limelight. "It couldn’t have been more public! I had people on the street being like, ‘ ’Ang in there, loov!’ and all you want to do is crawl into a cave and weep for a week."

And although she’s been in a few high-profile romances since then (one with Rhys Ifans and one with Balthazar Getty, who is married to estranged wife, Rosetta), Sienna claims that she’s old-fashioned about who she spends time with.

“I’ve actually never been taken on a date in my whole life. I have never had a one-night stand. I’m a real relationship person — contrary to public perception," she says. "I’m either in one or I’m not. I get kind of emotionally involved very quickly, and I’m not going to spend time with someone unless I love them. But it’s not hard for me to fall in love.”

Cameron Opens Up About Father’s Passing

May 15th, 2009

Cameron Diaz might seem to always be all sunshine and light, smiling, pretty and constantly being funny. But when her dad, Emilio Diaz, died unexpectedly at 58 of pneumonia while she was filming My Sister’s Keeper, she says that experience changed her.

"I think, emotionally.… It definitely took its toll. Definitely," she says in an interview in the June issue of Vogue. She later revealed to her friends that returning to the cast and crew was a comfort to her.

"It’s the human experience," she says of death. "You know, that’s what the heart does. Things are given to us, and things are taken away. And I think the heart becomes stronger, more capable."

In My Sister’s Keeper, Cam plays a mom dealing with a daughter dying of leukemia, in a role that’s definitely a shift to the serious side for her.

"I mean, I’m not 25 years old anymore, nor do I want to be," she confesses of her career. "I wouldn’t even want to go back to being 30. You know what I mean? That journey — I’ve done it already. I don’t want to do it again. It’s a lot of work to get through it, and I am excited about moving forward. I think that people get caught up in getting back to some place that they already passed. Or to a place where you cannot stay."

Blake Lively’s Alternate TV Universe

January 13th, 2009

The real world might be filled with the doom and gloom of these trying economic times, but tune in to Gossip Girl once a week and you can be transported to a place where the biggest worry is who is wearing what designer.

"We live in an alternate universe on the show; it’s a heightened reality, so I don’t think the writers would work that in," Blake Lively, who plays Serena van der Woodsen tells Vogue of keeping the cold hard facts of the economy out of the show.

"They created a show that people can watch after a long day and not have to stress and worry and feel the burdens of real life," she adds in the interview. "It’s just an escape, watching these sparkly lives and just escaping into this other world for an hour."

Part of that shiny happy world is the constant parade of designer clothing draped across each and every character, a source of amusement in itself, Blake explains.

"The fashion is just unbelievable. You can watch our show on mute and be entertained," she says.

Blake’s own sense of style has become integrated into the show itself, as she once showed up to set wearing a vest that wardrobe had already picked out for Serena.

"The more they work with me and see my style, and the more I learn about fashion, the more input I have," she explains. "It’s more collaborative now than it was in the beginning because then I had no idea what I was doing."

But the seemingly perfect blonde hasn’t always been the popular girl she plays on TV and now in real life – even she got teased at a private L.A. school in second grade.

"It was the only school where people were just downright mean to me," she reveals. "They would make fun of my clothes because I dressed differently than the other kids."

And now she’s on a hit TV show and they’re not – take that, bullies!

Quote of the Day

August 30th, 2007

"I was 21 when we got together, it was a mad love, we were both working and traveling and seeing each other, and I’ll love him forever. We didn’t have time to breathe on any level. The stolen moments — getting a curry and sitting in the garden — were bliss. I want to grow from that experience and have time to digest it. I don’t want to repeat patterns or carry baggage."
