Joss Stone Lookin’ for a Tall Man to Love

October 19th, 2009 / Author: Valerie Nome

lfw vivian westwood 2 200909Single Joss Stone has her eye on Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller.

“I think he’s cute,” the Grammy winner, 22, tells me in an interview from her Devon, England, home. “He’s really hot. He’s gorgeous. What a babe. It’s the eyes. It’s the eyes that do me in. I just can’t deal with it.”

Whew, it’s a good thing he’s 6’1” because the 5’10” singer has trouble with short men when it comes to relationships.

Her rule? They must be taller.

Wentworth Miller

Wentworth Miller hits a serious but sunny stride while wearing his stunner shades as he leaves the NYC set of Law & Order: SVU on July 9.

Wentworth is filming a special guest appearance for the hit show, where he’ll have some competition in the muscle department from SVU star Chris Meloni.

Wentworth Breaks from Prison

July 2nd, 2009

It seems Wentworth Miller has broken out of prison and landed on the other side ofthe TV law: TV Guide reports the 37-year-old star of Prison Break will be joining Law and Order: SVU as a guest star.

The Brit will play Nate Kendal, an NYPD cop who reportedly saves a rape victim in the season premiere episode, which doesn’t air until Sept. 23.

So yes, that means we’ll have to wait more than two months.

DVR THIS: Prison Break

September 1st, 2008

Sometimes, you don’t realize how much you miss something until it comes back to you.

And so my love affair with Wentworth Miller, who plays jailbreaking pro Michael Scofield on Prison Break — the new season starts tonight — continues.

How could I forget the chiseled jaw, the poignant gaze, a man so in love that he only has one thing on his mind: avenge the love of his life Dr. Sara Tancredi’s death. Boy, is he going to be in for a surprise this season!

Now back in civilian clothes, Michael will do anything, even die, to avenge Sara’s murder.

Hmmm, his wish just might be granted. There’s a big, mean guy running around who’s pretty much offing anyone who has worked for the Company, knows of the Company, even says the word, well you know…

Needless to say, Prison Break is back, with a vengeance.

But don’t just take my word for it. Here’s OK!’s resident PB fanatic, Rana Meyer’s 30-second review of the season opener:

"Season three came to an end as Michael and Lincoln finally broke out from Sona, and Michael announced that he was out to avenge Sarah’s death by the Company. The premiere opened up with that exact plan in motion.

It got off to a rip-roaring start, with so many shocking and mouth agape moments in just the first half hour alone.

Season four of Prison Break is off to an action-packed start. You will be on the edge of your seats from the very first moment. Who knows where this thrilling season will be taking us now."

Prison Break, season four, premieres Monday, Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. on Fox.

Inside the TV Upfront parties!

May 16th, 2008

It was TV Fanatic’s dream week as I hit the networks’ TV upfront parties and got scoop on the hot, new series hitting the airwaves this fall.

On Monday at the NBC Experience at Rockefeller Center, Selma Blair filled me in on her new show, Kath & Kim. “I play an obsessed character who follows everyone in the tabloids,” she shared. “I want to be them and I think that their lives are perfect. So the character is really based off all the girls that I see in the tabloids now.” Britney, Lindsay and Paris would be flattered!

Tuesday night at The CW upfront party at Lincoln Center, I hung with the new kids from a familiar zip code. “I move in with my adopted sister Annie,” said Tristan Wilds who plays Dixon Mills on the new 90210. “He’s going from a bad neighborhood and getting a good opportunity with a good family when they move to Beverly Hills.” As for the executive who decided to have Maroon 5 , the band behind the network’s new theme song, play a set at the event, thank you!

On Wednesday night I met Simon Baker, star of the new show, The Mentalist, at the CBS upfront party at Rosie O’Grady’s restaurant.  The Something New star was as charming as I imagined him to be, and revealed he watches Gossip Girl with his 14-year-old daughter!

I then rushed home to get ready for the America’s Next Top Model season finale screening party, hosted by Seventeen magazine. Wanting to pull off my own runway look, I wore a one-of-a-kind design from Project Runway alum Zulema Griffin. “I love your dress,” ANTM winner Whitney Thompson told me before we struck a pose.

Fox Network threw their upfront soiree at Wollman Rink in Central Park on Thursday. While I didn’t get to chat up my favorite Prison Break star, Wentworth Miller, he brushed past me, and it really felt like we had a moment…

I ended the night at South Gate restaurant watching Fran Drescher be honored by CESLIE, The Women’s Network and Proskauer Rose for her Cancer Schmancer movement to educate women about early detection of the disease. The Nanny star revealed she’s working on a new book about surviving cancer – and a screenplay. “It’s a romantic comedy, and I’ve written the lead for a Cameron Diaz-type,” she shared.

Wonder if any of it takes place in a Loehmann’s.

Wentworth’s New Addiction

September 19th, 2007

Having been a smoker on and off for about 10 years, Wentworth Miller has finally cut down that addictive habit quite a bit.

“I have had maybe four or five cigarettes in eight months,” the Prison Break star confessed to Ellen Degeneres on her daytime talk show. “So, as far as I am concerned, that’s quitting.”

And how did this tough guy cut down on the smokes? “I wanted to stop cold turkey; my old willpower,” he says. And while Went may have scrapped one habit, he confessed to simply trading it for another: “My new addiction is a Blackberry.”

TV HUNK DISCOVERED: CHRIS VANCE

September 17th, 2007

Wentworth Miller, the good news is that I’m willing to wait for a man to get out of prison. The bad news is that it may not be you. I just watched the season opener of Prison Break (airing tonight at 8 p.m. on Fox), and there’s a new hottie in incarceration: British import Chris Vance. Chis plays James Whistler, a man sentenced to Sona after an altercation with a relative of the mayor of Panama. He’s also in hiding, since his head is as good as a prison pardon to the other inmates. Chris recently relocated to Dallas for his new role, where he’s acclimating to new cuisine, new co-stars and his new TV Fanatic girlfriend!

You’re originally from England. Did you experience culture shock moving to the U.S.?

It all happened so quickly I was kind of reeling from it a bit. I’m still getting used to the size of food and how much cheese and cream they put on everything in Dallas. I guess it’s a good staple diet!

It’s a pretty tight-knit cast. Did they put you through any type of new guy initiation?

There have been a few tours of Dallas nightlife, yes. On the set, if you get anything slightly out of term, they’ll call you on it. They’re sharp as razors. Keeps you on your toes.

What was your first interaction with Wentworth like?

I can see why everyone swoons over Wentworth. He’s really bright and quite hilarious. We have a lot of laughs, and for me, that’s the main thing. It’s long days and can be quite demanding in the heat, and he really makes things bounce along.

You are doing some physically demanding stuff out there.

I’ve been pulled through walls, smoked out of rooms, beaten up and shot at! The first couple of days it was a bit of a shock, but I’ve gotten used to it. It means I don’t have to shower in the evening. I can go straight home, jump in bed and show up the next morning. It’s all in character, right?

Are you willing to be my new Prison Break boyfriend?

How’s Went going to feel about that? You got some sort of open arrangement? Yeah, let’s do it. We’ll hook up — play the jealousy angle on him — and see how it works. He may realize he’s missing the best thing he’s ever had!

May not be such a bad thing after all!
